Here it is! The full flight from DFW-JLN that eventually leads to a diversion to SGF and eventual return to JLN due to strong storms in the Joplin, MO area. It may be long, but it's a good one! Enjoy!
Wow So It was a quick flight from Springfield to Joplin. Just fly over I-44.
great work :) I subscribed to your channel
Why would pilots even attempt to fly in this kinda weather?
@@kathikamholz1493 these storms can develop quick and intense without much warning
Thanks for sharing the full video! Those pilots did a great job navigating the diversion. Awesome sky shots as well!
To me this remains some of the craziest in-flight footage of real world approach turbulence! Nice work.
Thanks my friend. All I did was hold the camera as best I could haha.
Those guys earned their pay that day. That wing drop on short final looked pretty extreme! I can't imagine the video does it justice. Great catch.
The video doesn't really do it justice. We came very close to landing short of the runway here. Thankfully the pilots did exactly what they should've done. Thanks for watching my friend!
I think they should have executed the go-around sooner. Looked like they were encountering a microburst close to the ground, nothing to fool around with.
What an extraordinary professionals. This performance is more than executing the job or responsibility. This is downright in charity territory (use the strength to help people). What a calm set of pilots and passengers. I would have lost it between 31:30 - 32:30. What a video. Fantastic job - Skylite Productions. My sincere appreciation to everyone involved here.
Thanks for watching my friend! It was definitely something to watch everyone's reaction on the plane. Sorry I'm so late replying to comments, but I've been on an awesome trip getting new footage for the channel! Be on the lookout for a new channel preview vey soon!
@@sla31 Thanks for your response! I love your channel to bits. Very enjoyable!
This is still my absolute favourite of your videos! Real turbulence, fantastic 1st approach and go-around, proper storm footage, just allround great (y) I love flights in stormy weather. There are way too many click-baits on CZcams, promising storms and "hard-landings", but ending up being absolutely no drama stuff. This video is brilliant!
Thanks my friend. I'm glad you enjoy this one. I do my best to title my videos with what they are, so you and everyone else know exactly what you're going to see.
WOW! Ruff day for flying but a more tense day of work for those pilots. They made the correct decision to shoot a missed approach in JLN. Great video as always!
Love Those Turbo Fans Engines Starting Up And Shutting Down It Has A Long Winddown
At least they let you wait the storm out in SGF inside the terminal.
Yeah they actually pulled the jet bridge and all of the equipment away from the plane so it wouldn't be damaged. Plus, it allowed me to charge my camera for a bit. Thanks for watching!
This is a prime example of why I tell people complaining about weather delays, " Would you rather be in the air wishing or on the ground bitching?" #Choices
Well put my friend. Better to be down here wishing you were up there, then up there wishing you were down here.
I love airplanes
This looked interesting! I was on an AA 737 a few years ago that was inbound to Miami but the pilots diverted to Fort Myers and we stayed there until weather cleared up until continuing to MIA. We didn't deplane though, and we never attempted a landing at Miami in the storm before the diversion.
32:35 Right about here I'm screaming TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!
You and me both 😂.
Love that thunderstorm front
Kudos to those pilots!! What a flight!
Wow, wasn't that a bit of excitement? lol.. Omg, those clouds at 31:00 :O .. incredible, what a plane has to endure! I agree, that landing attempt was a no go !
Awesome cloud footage at 34:00, as you rise above again. And cool take off at 58:00 :) , you can still see some instability & rains going on as you headed back.
Great footage, as usual :) love to see it all from above, the land etc in other area's of our world. TY
I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend. This definitely was a very eventful flight haha.
@@sla31 , I'm sure :/ , I watched that landing attempt a couple of times, lol.
Wonderful.
Just perfect. 👍
Thanks my friend!
Nice landing.
Great video!
A pilot providing wind information at the destination airport provides an incentive to book a later flight.
Thanks for watching my friend!
I'll bet the underwear kiosk at SGF sold out that day.
I love watching your videos
I'm glad to hear that my friend! I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Your welcome
JEEZ that must have been very scary
I can't imagine that 3places landing at one day.So cool.
Nice Video!
Good Experience!
Very cool video! :) Big UP!
Thanks my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The turbulence was crazy and scary 😳
As the persons on this flight, I conquer haha.
Great video
Thank you my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I've been on multiple summer flights into DFW where the plane gets thrown around like this. Not quite this bad, but pretty rough. And no storms in the area.
got roller coaster! wow what a day huh lol. I know both of these airports well but in all the times I’ve flown in and out of them never had that type of turbulence. I guess I always got lucky and there were no thunderstorms for me on fly day.
It is always save to fly above storms
I hope there was no tornado in that storm like Joplin lol
Quel orage effroyable!!!!!!!!!!
What can a pilot do in similar conditions but being in the middle of the ocean many hours away from an airport?
Cool - bonus airport.
Exactly! Two flights for the price of one!
Any tornados reported in that storm. Looks like the return flight they where flying pretty low, interesting!
I don't believe there were any tornadoes reported with this storm. At least not around Joplin and Springfield. Thanks for watching!
That thumbnail scared me! 😧
I’m not a nervous flyer but this is painfully reminiscent of a landing I once had in OKC. We were coming in shortly after a storm had passed and the air was so unsettled we were experiencing severe turbulence on approach. I was white-knuckling the armrest it was so bad. Our pilots didn’t divert however, and we hit the runway hard. I was never more happy to get on the ground in my life. I really wanted to hit the pilot on the way off the plane.
When you see the dark sky above the karman line that means space
Near circular cloud pattern on final landing.
That's exactly what you want to see on final right? Thanks for watching my friend!
Have you heard tornado outbreak struck in 4 states (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi) where 3 people were killed and 10 injures? It is still ongoing.
Yeah, I did. Only because I was flying that day, in that area, and had delays. Otherwise I might not have heard about it because I haven't been watching much of the news recently with family stuff going on.
1:15:47 that’s a butter smooth landing
Thanks for watching my friend!
Which is a more comfortable airplane to fly, a CRJ900 or a Embraer 175. I recently flew on American Eagle 900 for the first time and was surprised the legroom and seat width was better than the Boeing 737-800 I had connected from. I’ve never flown on an Embraer.
The ERJ-175. BY MILES. The ERJ-175 isn't just more comfortable than any CRJ, it's one of the most comfortable aircraft to fly on. In my opinion, of course. If I have a choice between a CRJ of any type and a ERJ-175, I will always chose the ERJ.
@@sla31 But the CRJ 900 is quite comfortable honestly. The Atmosphere cabin certainly improved comfort and the CRJ900 is larger than the smaller CRJ's.
Is it just me or the takeoff was actually smoother than usual?
Well that depends on which takeoff you're referring too. There are two takeoffs in this video. One from DFW and one from SGF.
Man I might be messed up in the head, but those kind of approaches (1st approach into Joplin) are my favorite.
Bad weather for hard windy!
It was indeed! Thanks for watching my friend!
36:09
47:51 did you switch cameras or something
Yes. The battery on my primary camera died so I switched to a GoPro. At the time I traveled with a GoPro as a backup. Now I only film with iPhones.
I still don't understand why you post full flight videos of an aircraft wing. Please explain.
Sure, I'd be happy to. So there's two ways to answer this. Because there are people who like the full flights, but don't like that I only show the wing during the flight, and then there are people who just don't understand why I post full flights at all. I'll answer both in case someone else reads this. First, I only show the wing after boarding for two reasons. First, it's against most airlines rules and conditions to film crew with their consent and it's against their rules to film other passengers any time. So, once everyone boards the flight, it makes it hard to film anywhere inside the cabin regardless. And second, I never really understood the argument from people wanting me to film inside the cabin after boarding. The cabin is the same throughout the whole flight. It never changes haha. Meanwhile, the view outside is constantly changing. So I don't really understand the logic of wanting to see inside the cabin more than once. And then on the other side, why do I film the entire flight, period. I do this because they are by far, my most popular videos. The more full flights I publish the better my channel does. So statistically speaking, more people want full flights than any other type of content I publish. But why do people want to watch full flights? Well, there are a lot of reasons. Some people just enjoy watching the scenery. Some people are afraid to fly, so they watch my videos of full flights before they have to fly, so they can understand what to expect when they do fly. Some people say they enjoy watching them while they work, beaches it doesn't take a lot of mental energy to watch, but gives them something new to look at any time they glance up. Other people use them to help them sleep. The white noise created by the jet engines helps them unwind and relax. Other people just enjoy to fly and travel, but they can't afford to, or they're not physically able to. So watching the flights in full is the only way they can fly and travel. There are a lot of reasons why people actually watch the full flights.
Bad weather for hard Windy.
It was indeed! Thanks for watching my friend!
No safety briefing for the second boarding?
I am assuming since this was still technically the same flight, and it had the same flight number that they weren't required to do the safety briefing again. We also didn't gain any new passengers, so it wasn't like a through flight where half of the people stay on while you gain new passengers. I could be wrong, but that was my interpretation of why they didn't do another safety briefing.
Skylite Productions I actually was on a diverted flight once where we got off then back on, and they made us do the briefing again.... weird. CLE-DCA and we diverted to ORF.
Anytime a passenger deplanes another briefing needs to be done...
they catch a windshear ?
Yes, during the landing we were hit with some very strong wind shear. Even the flight back from SGF to JLN was full of very turbulent air. Thanks for watching my friend!
What if the people had a connecting flight to SGF.
Well, since people were flying from DFW to JLN and JLN had no other service but to DFW, there wouldn't have been anyone connecting to SGF from JLN. That said, since SGF is only about an hour away from JLN, there were some people who actually lived in Springfield. American gave people the option to deplane in Springfield and not board the flight again. So, If you happened to be one of those people who were going to drive to Springfield after the flight landed in Joplin, you potentially got a better deal haha. I say potentially, because their cars may have been in Joplin. There were a few people who didn't fly back to Joplin and stayed in Springfield.
@@sla31 Ok, thanks!

32:35= 😨😨😨😂
Yes! That was the "oh crap" moment for sure! Thanks for watching my friend!
legitly one of the most dire moments I have seen in any inflight video
Thank goodness nobody was hurt
