      I don't agree. He's way more spectacular than Duncan, some of these passes are flashy as fuck.
      Offensively Jokic is probably better, Duncan was one of the best defenders ever.
      And even their personality is different, Duncan was less emotional than Jokic. We saw an emotional Jokic a lot of times (breaking Markieff Morris' neck, being ejected against Phoenix...), Duncan basically never.

    Jokic controls the game. Even without the ball, Miami has to watch out for him at all times. That opens up spaces for everyone else. If Miami can't get Jokic under control with one defender while still denying his passes, a sweep is likely.
    There is no center in NBA history who has shown even a remotely comparable performance as a playmaker. Jokic makes passes in every game that would be career highs for other centers.

      @vince5127 Před rokem +1

      @@sleepyheadz oh trust me in Europe we play a very very fundamental basketball. If you watch the Euroleague, exactly that happens what you described. Occasionally these “out of the box thinking” players make the league. This is why Doncic and Jokic are so insane. Have the great fundamentals and also the great extras so to say. But if you look at other Europeans, especially big men, they tend to be very basic.
      There is a reason so little Europeans used to make it to the Nba (obviously you had some here and there), but overall European and American basketball is very different

    The two "lost" seasons the Nuggets had with Porter and Murray out were a blessing in disguise. Jokic and Gordon had no choice but to develop their games on both ends. Once, Jokic was too deferential; now he's got the tools and aggression to maul opponents in single coverage. The Gordon who first arrived in Denver couldn't navigate screens cleanly, often missed rotations, and wasn't much of a rim protector. He's excellent at all those things now, and he has consistently punished teams that have tried to play off him throughout the playoffs. And kudos to MPJ for swallowing his ego and dedicating himself to defense and team ball. It's not the role he envisioned for himself coming into the league, but it looks like it might win him a ring.

    It was such a thrilling ride through the Eastern conference that I figured they would be able to play with the giant from the West.
    But no matter how hard they tried and how many runs they went on during each game, they always seemed to be down by double digits. The Spurs, like Denver, made it look effortless.
    That's when reality hit me, that the Spurs were just the better team.
    I think it was the first championship of Duncan's young career.

    Wow, what an incredible display of resilience and teamwork by the Denver Nuggets! They came out swinging and showed the Miami Heat who's boss in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Nuggets' relentless energy and never-give-up attitude were simply unmatched. Jamal Murray's clutch shots, Nikola Jokić's dominant presence in the paint, and Michael Porter Jr.'s explosive scoring were a sight to behold. This win is a testament to the Nuggets' determination and grit. Get ready, NBA fans, because Denver is here to make history!

    It seemed like Denver vs. Bam, the rest of the Miami players totally disappeared, if Jimmy with 56 points against Bucks appears, then we would talk about Miami with the possibility of winning the title, but as long as they continue playing like today, the same story as Denver vs. lakers..
