Breeding fish is one of the most enjoyable parts of the fishkeeping hobby. Let's talka about how to create an ideal environment for raising baby fry. Most fish are egg layers, livebearers, or mouthbrooders, and some species even display parental care. However, at some point, the baby fish will need to fend for themselves, so add lots of plants, hardscape, and hiding spots so they can escape from predators. Plus, feed them tiny foods that will help them grow fast and healthy.

Mine was a black Molly too! Got me loving the hobby for over 50 years I’ve never been without a tropical fish tank.
My CPD's are breeding in a heavily planted community tank. Super exciting! Life finds a way.
I really enjoyed seeing my Kribensis fry grow up. Breeding fish in general is fun!
Hikari Fancy Guppy best food to feed your fish! 50% protein and my fish grow so fast and go crazy for it. Super bright colors too!
omg thanks for mentioning to start on small tank get their appetite going and gradually increase the tank. i seriously believe this is one of the untold secrets of successful fish keeping.
this i believe is one of the secrets in getting fish to eat better! everytime a fish of mine slows down eating, i put them to a smaller tank and get them to eat better till they get to a glutonous way of eating then I increase the size of its tank.
i myself usually start on 10gal, goes 20 then to the big tank. that way they know me, they know the routine, they know where to find the dropped food. and yes i make it consistent where i drop the food too so they can catch it immediately and prevent the filter from sucking most of em up.
Watching this for my future apisto fry
I'm am beyond excited to see fry from my Celestial Pearl Danios!
Good timing! My fish just had babies today! (It was a surprise to me) 😂

I have basically made my own concoction of foods. I have the fry food from coop for my babies but for everyone it has flakes, micro pelletes Betta pellets, and shrimp pellets. Everyone will eat everything no matter what!
Super helpful! Also: Will that hat ever come back around for sale? Love those colors.
My gambusia just had like 25 0r so fry 😂😂😂
Took two goldfish out my barrel pond 2 months ago. Forgot about the pond .....checked it and there is at least 50 little black fish that are about a half inch long. Eating algae. I guess
Weird that this video was made months and months ago but just released today.
The easiest and most hands-off way is to have a established tank with a working ecosystem, where the fish can feed themselves. I have accidentally raised hundreds of babies, i am in the process of trying to find homes lol.
One day I saw white little round things everywhere, on my moss balls on the plants, on the glass. I got so worried I did not know what it was, or what to do, if it was going to harm my fish, lol it was panda cory eggs.
Ive never ‘fed’ baby fry i just feed the tank like normal and i get lots of babies reach adulthood
Hey cory on your comment about having an appropriate size tank. Where does it become an issue of stunted growth because of a tank too small with too many fish?
Can i still run activated charcoal in 10 gallon electric blue acara grow out tank? They are about 2 weeks old.
Thanks for the tips I actually wanted to put the eggs in a 20 gallon just for the worry about waste. What about substrate I want to do Cories(fell in love with them by accident lol) so I was putting them on a sand substrate
Twice my Corydoras laid eggs but they never hatched
then came the guppies, the 1st 6 borns I lost all , of the next borns, 2 survived, and now have a set of 10+ fries (fingers crossed they make it)
I have some pygmy cory fry. until how many days old can they eat brine shrimp?
I am an accidental fish daddy or is it fish grandfather. My Cherry Barbs in one tank and Hillstream Loaches in another tank are baby factories. Both are community tanks with plants, driftwood, and rock piles for the babies to hide until they get big enough not to be food.
So quick question so I just bought a 55 gallon tank iv been using a 29 gallon tank for awhile now but I have glowfish tetra angelfish guppies etc catfish glow sharks is it good to have different type of fish in the same tank or should they all be in different tanks ?
mine were wild molly's
My electric blue acara pair just wont breed.. any tips?
hey, what were those fish at 0:44 in the video?
I bread my first fish🌸 they we're guppies I didn't do anything special just put them in a ten gallon 🌼
Tetra Color Granules mashed into dust with a mortar and pestal, is how I feed my fry. So far successful.
I recently had a baby Cory cat.
I have a heavily planted quarantine tank and suddenly baby black phantom tetras
It would be cool if you toured a brine shrimp company. How are they making billions of eggs that dont hatch?
Or a fish food company walk through
That would be cool
