  • This brillengineering.com's final version of a home made impact huller for various grains, we could not design a method of using a bicycle to generate the necessary rpm. If you have one let me know, my email address is on the web page. Anyone have a simple and inexpensive specific gravity separator design?

    I recently came on your series of vids.
    Thank you for the time and effort it took to develop these items, and the extra time it took to capture and publish these vids

  • @srinivasanramaswamy1098

    Wonderful. I appreciate you for all the efforts you have taken to do and to also explain in detail. Thank you very much.

    Try using the blowing air from the de huller first. I use just a regular fan or blower to remove the husks

    This huller also hulls sunflower seeds,

      I'll start looking at comments going forward. I'm now building a squirrel cage type blower using a purchased replacement fan

    how you are separation husk and bran..... both are collection in one box right???? could you explain more clearly

      The impact huller creates a wind that can be used to blow the husks away and a fan can also be used.

    Hi, I learned about your huller from John Sherck. I tried the website but it is no longer available. I was wondering if there is another way to buy your plans? Thanks, J

      I no longer build the hullers. Sorry, Don

      I don’t have any plans. Check the last video I published. We have another problem because no company in the USA is making the polyurethane rollers. I did find them on Ali express.

      The huller was purchased from Thomas International in India, this two person huller may also be purchased with a motor. here's the web site www.thomaseximp.com.

    Would this hull malted barley?

    • @brillengineering7889
      @brillengineering7889  Před 4 lety +1

      I don't think so because the husk is tightly bound to the grain. I've run barley seed without success.

    Can this be used for wheat after threshing?

    • @brillengineering7889
      @brillengineering7889  Před 3 lety

      If an impact huller is used commercially then it should work. I haven't tested wheat but I might have time next month to buy and run some. I'll comment here if I do.

    Can this dehull flax seeds too?

    • @brillengineering7889
      @brillengineering7889  Před 5 lety

      Flax is very oily (soft) so it is very difficult to dehull. I looked up information and there is an old patent in which drying the flax to 3% moisture content was the key then using a pearler. This unit will most likely not work for flax but I'll buy some and give it a try in the next couple of weeks.

    • @brillengineering7889
      @brillengineering7889  Před 5 lety

      I tried flax and as expected it didn't de-hull them.
