This time, the Filipina singer sang “The Pain You Never Knew” medley with songs by Chinese performers Wang Leehom and Joker Xue.

I asked my chinese friends here in singapore to watch it. They say she did mixed up some words and sounded weird at some parts but they don't care coz they know the lyrics. What they were after is how she delivered the song and kz sang it with her whole heart and they really appreciate her effort.

I'm a singaporean too. Actually her pronunciation was really almost perfect! It was really clear what she was singing about. Its really just that few words she minced a little, if u are really strict about it.
I'm just really impressed with her sincerity in picking up a new language and covering not just 1 but 3 songs. Her emotions were all on point too! Really respect her attitude in daring to push boundaries and challenging herself.

As a Chinese speaker I can say 95% of the pronunciation was good. Btw, the 1st place of this episode was Hua ChenYu. He is a very talented Chinese singer. Hope you can react to him.

It may be a foreign language or what not, KZ made us all proud. She introduced us to Chinese music and made it her own. I super love the very soft spots of the song which made it distictly KZ's. She is undoubtedly one of the best in that competition!

She just proved to us that she could sing various genres. That's how she won the hearts of those people who really have hearts. But if you had watch the full video of Episode 6...you will realized how the other contestants did their best and have shown their efforts, making their own arrangements too, when KZ sang and ranked 1 from the previous episode. The pressure was really there. KZ was right, to convince or to perform to your audiences, try to be one of them.
So proud of KZ. Met her at the backstage of a show while waiting for her turn. She was so nice and so down to earth and so authentic. Just as how authentic her emotions are when singing this song. I'm sad to know that she only ranked 6th. But certainly, she makes us all so proud of her and of being Filipino. Kudos KZ!

this is a singing competition, you must make your chosen song fly... you cant be save by 100% emotions, dynamics makes it perfect in a competition which cant be found in this performance
Who ever has a chance to talk with KZ, please tell her to sing a song that will showcase her artistic in different genre. She has the edge among others. Belt it, rap it and soul it. Her distinctive voice makes her unique. Laban lang...
My birth country is Philippines. Although I have a mixed blood of Chinese, Spanish and Filipino, I considered myself belonging to the Filipino race. My family migrated to the US and I am a citizen now. I have met some chinese people here and those who were already born in the US can speak English fluently but for those who migrated here like me, could not pronounce English words perfectly. Same thing in the Philippines. There are many Chinese there but only those who were born there could speak Tagalog well. Speaking of KZ, I admire her for having learned the Chinese/Mandarin song at a short period of time. It is not 100% perfect but she is good. Given more time to learn the language, I guess she will deliver more Chinese songs perfectly. To the Chinese people, you must be proud that somebody acknowledge your language with sincerity.

indeed, it was a soulful performance of KZ, her performace in this episode was completely different from what she did last time. she simply showcase her versatility and all, from an upbeat type of song to a soulful and heartfelt song. it seems that she really set the emotion on the stage and it goes directly to the audience, undeniably it manifested in their reactions. there were emotions felt during this performance, some were teary-eye because they really felt "The Pain Never Knew". in fact i hate here because even though i didn't understand what she sings still i'm so affected. It only shows that she is not just creative in her craft but is also a good story teller.

That moment when u dont understand every lyric of it... That u dont have any background about mandarin.. That u dont have any knowledge about what she's singing yet u 100% FEEL THE PAIN , that even the INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES has that same FEELING... That we all had teary eyes, had goosebumps.. And we feel every note of it even if we know she may mispronounce some words or worst forgot some.. but still we never bother for she's full of emotions.. Then u people saying she OVER KILL it.. Hmmmmmmm.. Singing is not always about proper phrasing.. Not always about memorizing the lyrics.. Pronouncing it perfectly..
