    Wish I would have seen this before I mixed 146 bags with a Lowe’s mixer and a wheelbarrow. As for you pouring problems. I made a concrete vibrator out of my sawzall. Put a 9in old dull blade in it then duct taped a 18in piece of 2x2 to it. Worked bad ass. Removed the Sonotube and the concrete was smooth. Oil your forms also. Edit not only subscribed but went back and watched every video. Wish I would have made a CZcams channel two years ago when I moved off grid.

      That’s awesome! Keep the suggestions coming we really appreciate it and will definitely be getting a vibrator tool! It’s never too late to start a channel my friend. Go for it!!! We regretted not documenting our school bus build and travels a while back so this time around we made sure to start hitting that record button.

      Thank you so much for the suggestions! 🙏🏻We are definitely getting the vibrator tool when we pour the stem wall for the house. Good to know Lowe’s has the form oil. We went to Home Depot and they didn’t carry it.

      used motor oil & diesel fuel 50/50 in a garden sprayer. A nice thin coat on the forms will release the forms with no damage to the environment cause your not spilling it out on the ground. & excellent use of old motor oil

      I’ve used regular old vegetable oil on mine. I used one of those garden sprayers. Makes me feel a tiny bit better than motor oil. Not a big deal. You do what you can.

    Just found your channel and binge watched all of the videos. I'm jealous of you guys, I bought a off grid property in st. John az in November but we have to wait until spring to get started. At first I was thinking that you were going to put in a yert, but the clues you were dropping are making me wonder. Thanks for the entertainment for a boring Saturday.

      Congrats on the new property. St John is a beautiful area, you are one lucky dude!! Spring is just around the corner you'll be out there before you know it. Thank you so much for the kind words and support. Wishing you the best of luck with your new off-grid endeavor! Cheers!

    You know that the machine pivots, right. Set it to pull along side the forms instead of zig zaging it back and forth. It will reach just under 4' from the center pivot point with the extension chute. Also blow out the waterlines with compressed air while running it so the elec. valves will open and close. Nothing sucks more then pulling it out to use next spring and having to repair the waterlines and valves.

    Deanna and I are in Northern Nevada (Reno-Sparks). We purchased our MudMixer as well. We are building a modified Earthship Style home on top of the Warm Springs Range just south of Pyramid Lake. You're place is going to be fantastic when your done! Blessings and Encouragement from Northern Nevada!!

      Awwwww this warms our hearts so much! Thank you for your support. ❤️We used to live in Carson City for many years and it’s our home away from home. So cool you guys are living the dream and building an earthship style home to boot! We wish we could have been able to build in that area. Are you guys going to be documenting your build?! We would love to follow along! 😍

      @@BisboneRanch we will document it but we won't post anything on world wide web...lol... but - we will share what and how we completed our build out. We will NOT be pulling permits BUT we will have all of our information/construction STAMPED by licensed professionals in order to record that the structures meet or exceed code. Up for the fight with the local authorities...lol. Blessings and Energy being sent your way!!

    Great video i agree with the concrete vibrated from harbor freight or amazon for the stem walls to help with the voids. I also would spray the form boards with a release agent or diesel fuel to help with pulling the forms and reusing them. Can’t wait to see more content great job keep up the good work.👍🏼

      I like the diesel fuel idea or even just cooking oil would probably do the trick. Thanks for the support!

      I put the diesel fuel in a cheep garden sprayer it works great to apply to the forms instead of brushing it on. Hope this helps some . 🤙🏼🤙🏼

    By now you probably know the mudmixer will work to pour the foundation and slab for a house, I saw a youtuber do a huge garage/shop foundation and slab and he is taking about also a house, rural as well as yours, I need to find cash to get me a piece of desert land and do the same you guys are doing, do not have that kind of cash now BUT, already have my mudmixer, dreams do not cost much, to me actually few thousands in collecting the tools for my dream!

    Very informative video. I just bought a mudmixer and am curious how you setup your offgrid water source. What size cistern and pressure tank do you have. It looks like the mixer worked fine with your setup. Thank you. Id love to see a video on that system if you're looking for content ideas. I didn't see it on your channel.

    • @BisboneRanch
      @BisboneRanch  Před 5 měsíci

      Our cistern is 2800 gal, we didn't use a pressure tank just a 120V water pump that continuously runs while we're using the mixer. Pressure seems to be perfectly fine with that setup so far.

    Was your water supply a constant pressure? I'm on a well and the pump kicking on and off really messes with the water/ concrete mix rate with my Mud Mixer. Goes from dry to soupy in a flash.

    • @BisboneRanch
      @BisboneRanch  Před 5 měsíci +2

      We used a cast iron pump that stays on all the time when powered up. It maintained excellent pressure the whole time just have to make sure you’re continuously adding mix before it runs out.
