Hakkapeliitta R5 is the standard studless winter tire for the Model 3 and Y in Norway. You can also spec with Hakkapeliitta 10 EV with studs, right from Tesla!

I have lived in Colorado most of my life and never put on winter tires. My family, who live IN the mountains near Durango and get FEET of snow, get studded tires. But we only get a little snow along Western I-70 near the Utah border. And now I work from home, so if it's nasty out, I drink more hot tea and stay home.
Always rocking Nokian on my vehicles and my family's vehicles, all of them studded up here in Sweden :)

Waited almost three months for the Hakkapeliitta R5 EVs to be available for my EV6 (235/55R19 or 235/60R18) with no eta before finally giving up and going with the Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV tires on 18" wheels.

Is the hakkapeliitta howl still a thing with the hakkapeliitta 10? My hakkapeliitta 8 have the howl when reaching ~60 kph 🙂

I don't think that if you charge the e tron a 80 % it would make aniy difference compared to charging only to 50 % unless the vehicule is not used for a very long time the e Tron has a very big upper buffer so 80 % is probably not even close to that number .
we dont get snow in LA, i still don't get this whole winter tire thing.

kyle you forgot the e Tron was pluged in a Colton's shop at 4:56 so you gain some charge I don't blame you for not remembering with all those tire you and Alissa had to deal with.

according to latest studies, the current gen all season tires are almost as good as winter tires in the winter and summer tires in the summer. Very little difference in braking distance. GoodYear Vector 4Seasons 👍👍

@@Poxenium well, are you suppose to drive in rain, in snow? Yes, if you need to do so. Ice is not something unusual on roads really. Especially dangerous around 0 with so called "black" ice. That's why we have winter and studded tires.
‘All season’ tires as they are referred to in North America are nowhere near winter tires for winter driving. Not even close.
Nokian and other companies now offer winter rated ‘all weather’ tires that are winter rated. Those one actually are good in the snow. Not quite as good as true winter tires, but are pretty good. Also less efficient than summer tires would be. So it depends.
If you want the best tires for summer and the best for winter you need separate tires.
@@jayhoughton558 Yes, those weird "all season" tires in the US are not really all season. Initial poster referred to vector 4 season, which are proper all season as we call them around the world or all weather (i think) as you call them in the US.

Hey viewers, do you also experience recent Kyle’s videos freezing so much they are not watchable? As soon as I play a different video, for example some 4K video from rtings, it plays smoothly in 4K no matter what. I am using official YT apps on iOS and Apple TV (current gen), YT premium and it’s not related to my WiFi connection or cellular, on two different carriers. What a weird restriction to suddenly prevent me from watching favorite EV related content.
That’s more than likely a CZcams issue. Fine for me. I’d make sure your device is not overloaded somehow. If anything, re-install the CZcams app. What device are you using to watch videos?
@@Captain_DeSync Thanks, Captain. I just reinstalled the app on iPhone 13 mini. Same video froze once but past that point it plays smoothly so far. Problems I experience are only recent + oddly specific to Kyle’s channels. I read it might be a “problem” of both of my ISPs, related to my region (Poland) - content delivery network servers might not have cached those videos yet because of popularity not great enough? Dunno.
