  • You Can Consider This The Wrong Way Of Replacing This Heavy Tire.
    The Wheel Is Backwards .
    Is Not The Safest Way Of Doing It.
    Is Just The Fastest.
    This Rim Was Supposed to Dismount tire From The Other Side,Too much Body Effort Required On Reverse Side.
    This wheel is already damaged otherwise a vise grip shouldn’t be used to mount tire.
    Any Ways HAVE FUN!!!!
    Do Under Your Own Risk.
    Proper Training Required.
    Serious Injuries Or Death Can Occur.

    I've been an truck driver for close to 30 yrs now & an owner/operator truck driver for over 10 yrs...it still amazes me at how fast some of the "HIGHLY SKILLED TIRE MEN" are at changing a tire on the side of the road.
    I had all 10 tire on my truck truck replaced last year at tire dealership here in Mobile Alabama & the tire man did all 10 tires...dismounting & remounting in less than 2 hours. This guy was AWESOME & FAST!!!

    • @yodaddy4944
      @yodaddy4944 Před 6 lety

      michaelovitch mounting an balancing is completely unregulated, most don't balance trailer tires because nobody cares if the trailer rides smooth. And I hope it stays that way, because if the government was involved that 10 min job would take twice as long and cost three times as much for no reason.

    Nice of some of these people to show their ignorance when it comes to doing a job they have never done. The drop center or well as some have called it is the same on both sides of an aluminum wheel so you can take the tire off either side. On a steel wheel the drop center or well is offset to one side and the the tire is supposed to come off that side. The yellow tool was a third hand or called a pineapple, don't know he got it out and didn't use it. It works like the vise grips do, but has a rubber coating to keep from scratching the wheel. I was wondering why he put a drive tire on a trailer too, but sometimes you gotta work with what you have.

    @mikek8632 Před 6 lety

    Dismounting and remounting a tire from the wrong side of the rim stretches and damages the bead therefore weakening the tire. If this were a normal dual setup this would have been ok because the drop center of the rim is centered and they can be removed from either side however that is not normally the case with a super single and looks as that wasn't the case with this rim. I can almost guarantee at some point in this tires life there will be issues with the bead or the sidewall near the bead. I do this professionally for a living and the small effort it would have taken to remove the rim from the vehicle is well worth it.
    I am glad to see they didn't do the morons bead seating method and use either, I was waiting for that as it would have just been the icing on the cake so to speak.

      The tire shop probably did not have trailer super single tires in stock.

      It sounded like the driver already had that tire with him for a spare.

    I do this exactly the same way. Usually takes me about 15 minutes though from arrival at the job till the tire is mounted and airing up. Any time that can be saved without having to remove the rim is a good thing TIA approved or not is irrelevant in the real world.

      Na I do tires for a living I know people who have worked for my same company and took short cuts and didn’t go home to there kids I take the literal extra 10 mins to take it off the unit and check for cording so I don’t die and who knows maybe sell a wheel and make some more money!
