    Wow! I must say you are one of the very few CZcamsrs who know how to actually use Luminar Neo. Others just go crazy on the sliders and make the photos look worse than the original. Thanks for taking the time to explain Jim!

    The great thing about your videos is that we are well informed before the new versions are released and can then easily find our way around the new tools. What's even better is that you don't leave it at that, but go deeper and deeper into the topic. Today's episode was again very interesting and inspiring. Thank you very much for that!

    Though the original dark and uninspiring image might be a throw-away, it had enough potential to be turned into a keeper! I always enjoy your videos where you turn a regular 'blah' vacation photo into something worth showing off. I'm sure this'll inspire many others as well!

    G'day Jim
    Absolutely brilliant transformation of a snap shot into a beautiful photograph.
    Thanks for showing us your steps and explaining the tools.
    I can honestly say that your 'snapshot' now is far better than any of my photos 😢.
    Well Done 👍

    your videos are amazing, it helped me become a professional photographer, the only thing Luminar Neo needs is a sub-category for exposure for each tonal areas ( i don’t want to keep using the curves tool or the luminance mask all the time)
    and i think Luminar Neo needs to add a new colour (Color) tool to bring back the original colour (Color) that was lost.

    When you changed the angle on the water it looks like you introduced some odd, jagged looking discoloration at the bottom of the image which seemed to change somewhat as you progressed with the final editing but was still visible at the end.

    great video, for me the only missing is a video showing the best techniques to fix masking edges quiclky and easily to create smooth edges that dont ruin the image after additional edits are completed. this is a MAJOR problem for me

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  Před měsícem +1

      thanks David and yes that can be a challenge (except with luminosity masks) so I often add a brush at a lower strength and brush along the edges to create a gradient - hope that helps

    color -- mauve = mowve as we Canucks learned to pronounce it as in mow the lave and the sound vuh but softly so the uh part is not emphasized. Oh, I have just started the tutorial but I wonder if this image maybe the single image HDR would make a good startling place to see where the software would go. Maybe small adjustments from there would be sufficient.
    Really good tutorial on how to make use of so many of the tools available in NEO.

    Excellent video as usuall Jim. Can you tell us about your camera and lens details for this photo. It looked very sharp edge to edge. Wondering whether you used Tripod? And why do you call it "Snap" like you took it with a cell phone or something?

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  Před 25 dny +1

      Thanks much. This was shot on a full frame Nikon, f/13 for 1/100 sec ISO 200, 48mm. It was taken about 12 yrs ago so I don't remember all of it but I don't think it was a tripod mounted shot. That's why I call it a snap. I believe I was walking by and just snapped it. No real plan, no filters, etc. Just a quick snap. Thanks.

    A bit disappointed with the luminosity mask, not sure if it's the program or my PC. The masking is very pixelated. Tried the same shots on on1 and it was fine.

    I am bothered by the sky having a different hue of blue than the water.
    I understand that you are demonstrating a technique, not showing an example.
    I can put the blue where I want to.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  Před měsícem

      Yes fair point and as you state this is a demo of what you can do. There are additional things I would likely do to finalize the image but this was a demo of what is possible with the new tools. Each image requires it's own little adjustments to make it work, for sure. Thanks for watching.
