- Yes, I have indeed known Governor Godwin Obaseki for a long time, we are friends I met him at university. He's an investment banker and I'm a lawyer, we have worked on the same sides or opposite sides of big corporate transactions. However, I'm not sure that if Gov. Obaseki is looking for a third term he will come to me. I'm fully independent, and I don't see any way he can dangle me at the end of a rope

Amazing. This man looks set to clinch his party's ticket unless something extraordinary happens. Across party lines, he stands out. A lot of things will be thrown into the fray in general election in Edo state. The touted political sophistication of Edo people will be on the ballot. Equity, fairness and justice will be there. Capacity, character and competence will also be there. Profile and antecedence will be issues. Here, every element appears to align to work in his favour. After ticking all the boxes, it would look like Asue is the man to beat.
The fabulous Arise team did their homework both historically and on the subject matter.
He was drilled and was given ample time to respond to questions without being interrupted. A good journalism indeed.
However, he was focused on the salient issues without categorization.
And he was very persuasive and he performed credibly.
Therefore, he has what it takes to build on the legacy of the current governor of Edo State.

The civil service in the state is well-structured, with regular payment of salaries and pensions. There have been significant investments in capital-intensive projects, including private contributions. Edo just needs a successor who will build on Obaseki's legacy and do even more.
