I like this approach to the arrangement. It's got the undeniable power of a symphonic metal arrangement, but for the most part it feels like an emotional ballad drawing deep on the complex emotions hidden in the composition, arching over the metal instrumentalisation and tying it all together into Junko's story.
I particularly like the shifts in tempo and the transitions between the sections here.
150 bpm to 170 bpm and back again to 150. When arranging this one i always think of Junko story thats why there is the sadness feeling in the composition but still powerful sounding because of Junko power
Pure Furies as your favorite ZUN track is criminally based
Heyo! I've been gone for a while, but I'm back again. And I see I've missed out on some real goodies during my absence.
During the 6th stage of LoLK you only encounter two kinds of obstacles that you have to navigate before you encounter Junko: The first are generic spirit enemies that burst into danmaku when they are destroyed, and the second is a barrage consisting of strings of blue bullets that fall from above... I've always felt that those obstacles are supposed to be a metaphorical retelling of Junko's backstory, with the spirits representing the son she lost, the danmaku they burst into when you destroy them representing her revenge, and the barrage representing tears falling into the vast sea below until there are no more tears left to shed and only Resentment remains... And I feel that you really captured that emotional journey in this cover:
It has the brightness of the past at the start but with dark undertones, like a hint of what's to come. Then it moves on to capturing the sorrow and brutality of Junko's tragedy towards the middle -- I especially liked the 2:38-3:12 section where you have the percussion sound like a heartbeat -- "Whereabouts of the Heart", indeed... Then, just before the 4 minute mark, comes the fiery intensity of her fury and unrelenting revenge in full force. In the end, however, the track slows down until even the guitar that almost sounded like it was trying to keep the fire alive goes silent and it all tapers off into nothing; like the painful emptiness that revenge leaves you with.
It is criminal you are getting less views than people who speak gibberish at 300 bpm and call it music. You deserve millions of views
Anyways, please do Green Eyed Jealousy in the future. With how dramatic and beautiful this is, I’d be shocked if I don’t cry from your remix of Ms. Little Jealousy’s theme.
Update: Well well well, you did. I’m just blind. Then… how about either Kaguya’s x Mokou’s themes in a battle-like format or U N Was Hero?
