    You really have some informative videos.
    Thanks for another great one!
    Definitively gonna go with DietPi for my reinstall not only cause its more lightweight and easier than Raspberry Pi OS Lite. Also not to mention I'm pretty sure DietPi doesn't include that Microsoft bullsh*t included by default either.
    You should cover how to create linux snapshots for easily restoring your system either with a Btrfs partition or by creating a cloned image of the system.

      Hey thanks! :) Dietpi is super lightweight, and they removed the microsoft from trusted sources when it was added to raspbian. It's a nice choice. Saves time on initial install / set up, allowing more time to go towards details. Thanks for the feedback and video idea! Will add to the idealist.

    That’s awesome! Where do you learn all this stuff? Did you go to college for this?

      I've been running linux for majority of my life.
      Dietpi is a very easy to use sbc option. Friendly for all experience levels.
      Ever since I can remember I've felt sensitive to the importance of personal, and collective privacy. How freedom is in some ways dependent on privacy (nothing else can protect all our rights, into an unknown future).
      Started using Linux, in small part for this reason. I wanted some peace of mind, and didn't trust Windows at the time (not saying I do now 😆)
      Always enjoyed learning.
      Nice thing is: Our biggest interests are always easy to study! ;)
      Sharing things I liked learning about.
      Thanks Rob, really glad you like it! 🙂

    Whats the bare minimum hardware specs you can install a tor access point onto without issues?
    Also whats your thoughts on dn42 and yggdrasil?

    • @RTPTechTips
      @RTPTechTips  Před 25 dny

      Doesn't use much resources, though only use a few devices on it at a time.
      For perspective, I've tested on pi3, pi4 regarding the tor wifi hotspot router. Was what I had at that time, with built in wifi / ethernet.
      It's light enough to where I wouldn't worry much on minimum requirements. Should work on anything compatible.
      They look like neat projects, though haven't had a chance to explore yet, but am aware of them.

    I perfer XFCE. It's more than I need out of a "desktop".
    Most of my time is spent with a terminal and a web browser. Nothing else.

      @RTPTechTips  Před 27 dny +1

      Same. I enjoy XFCE. It's been my most frequent choice, alongside MATE. Thanks for watching!

      @@RTPTechTips : Fvwm2 is also a good choice when memory is really limited as it uses at max a couple megabytes of ram.

      That's one I don't think I've tried yet (I stick with things long-term usually)! Might have to check it out sometime. Thank you.

      @RTPTechTips  Před 24 dny

      I've only used it with the built in wifi on pi 4, pi 3 for this project.
      For good quality wifi related hardware, Alfa is a good choice.

    • @G-ja666
      @G-ja666 Před 24 dny

      I use pi 4
      Now the alfa for what to use

      Ahh. Thank you for mentioning 'onion router'... Added "onion" into the title now to hopefully reach more! :)
