- Oh hey is that an EU4 video on this predominantly CK3/Vic 3 channel? I'll have you know I have over 2.5K hours in EU4 and that I'm actually pretty okay at this game too (not as good many others though).
In this first part of a series, I'll be taking Castile through the age of Discovery, where they'll discover what Europa Universalis 4's most recent DLC, Domination, has done to them. With access to the full mission tree without any need to form Spain, Castile is now an absolutely insane powerhouse, even in the age of discovery, and they can take on a new tag later on when they're ready to become the true gigachads of both Europe, and the new world (perhaps even the whole world).
This video is something of a mixture of roleplay and guide, where the advice I give, and my opening moves and strategies are definitely solid, but I don't necessarily play completely optimally. I'm still feeling out how much RP I want to put in, so this video is mostly guide content, with nods at RP here and there.
Part 2: • Annex Germany with the...
Either way, I hope you enjoy! Let me know how you feel about the video so I can learn more about what you want to see!

A super fun option as Castille is Forming Morocco and then Andalusia. You can even go back to Catholic afterwards. It's absurdly powerful
what means powerful? economicly or military?
@@smizara I think the answer is Yes.
Is andalusia and end game tag
Nah I’d rather just vassalize Morocco after they lost all their subjects and provinces.
Found this guide and especially your commentary to be refreshing calming and informative without being contrived like many of the daily EU4 content creators. Well done on the video!
I agree here, most of eu4 youtubers try to be funny and enterterning, we excel with map gamers want informations
You should do a run as the Fifth Monarchists in England. They're basically a new meme reform that gives stupidly powerful bonuses as long as you conquer provinces every month
I love that when you use the player mapmode you blatantly reveal you use CreamAPI to not pay for DLCs. Very based.
lol, well actually I did pay for all the DLCs, I just don't have a Paradox account so my name is just "player"
This is an awesome format.
The 2 parts with very good commentary/roleplaying is informative and entertaining.
Do Ternate next!
Calls himself "passive"
In less than a century, owns most of FRANCE, owns ALL of Italy, most of North Africa, controls Austria, and is about to control the rest of the HRE
Perhaps I have high standards, lol. I'm used to watching Lambda's streams so everything feels passive in comparison
For anyone who would like to play spain, or castile, you can get a Pu casus belli on england/UK instead of claims if they pass to anglicanism so give it a shot and wait 50-100 years and instead of getting five provinces for 180ae you'll get all the british isles and their colonies for way less
This is true, but I'm choosing to let Britain live for some memes later in the run. You'll see. I should have mentioned it in the guide though tbh. I'll mention it in a later part.
great video, can’t wait for part 2!!
really like your video style! great video
If you re playing with lots of Vassals/PUs Influence + Admin is S-Tier now. Cause Admin lost the Merc stuff which gets redundant later on.
Anyways. Nice guide. Even tho you got some mistakes in there its good that you show them.
Dawg my monarchy universal as fuck bro
Culture switch to piedmonteese from Sardinia Piedmont, get the permanent bonus via missions then form Italy so that you can take Rome and exploit the broken Italian national ideas.
This video is truly refreshing in the EU4 scene, nice post commentary with bits of anecdotal advices and smooth editing.
Really dig this content, keep it up!
21:17 The great captain beating Spanish enemies in Italy is a classic.
Very good guide.
good video keep it up bro
More of these, please
Lore of Castile's Age of Discover[ing] (How Broken They Are) - Europa Universalis 4 Domination Castile Guide Momentum 100
9:00 thats not the optimal way to do the event chain.
Its sweaty af but what you do is you take the +1 stab in "fate of..." event, then wait for the torquemada event to fire without coring the provinces, take the +1 stab there as well. then you release grenada and force convert them to christian for the mission. Yes theyll be a bit disloyal but you can just dev them a bit and its gonna be fine when it comes to integrate them.
Its defo worth it as this way you get +2 stab and the age of reformation goal while making it impossible for the war of the arpujarras to fire (thats the negative event that gives you -2 stab if you force convert the provinces even tho you "said" you wouldnt(The event cant fire if grenada exists))
until when can Alpujarras happen?
i mean, when is it safe to annex Granada?
@@sergiusko4327 after u converted everything. The event can only fire if there's a missionary active in those 4 provinces
Nice Hades ost.
Let’s go EU4 content 🗣️
I'm looking for a real one faith guide. Looks like this new castille might be a nice pick
Good vid.
Depending on how much you like exploits, taking italy is actually fairly ez without taking a lot of AE.
Lets say you wanna take venice, Milan and Tuscany. Make sure you are ready to diplo vassalize Ferrera, montferat and Bologna.
Go into a war with Milan and give all the land to montferat -> diplo vassalise. You can do this, because provinces in different states dont count to wards diplo vassalisation.
So in your case when you diplo vassalized Ferrera you can just attack venice give Ferrera 100% warscore -> diplo vassalize since Ferrera still counts as a 2 province minor.
Risk of Rain music is love
I’m looking forward to seeing someone who actually likes this DOC. It seems like pure fluff to me and it makes it way harder to maintain high prestige by not allowing Patronage cancelling. Plus the early disaster makes ZERO sense, Castille crushed it historically iirc.
Edit: Why is the Shipyards building still awful and never worth it? Also Naval Goods should be buffed considering how valuable Baltic and Scandinavian lumber was to the colonial powers
Naval supplies give a flat 0.5 naval forcelimit per province. Getting a ton of naval forcelimit is how you win the colonial game if you don't want to go for any colonizing ideas. They are a very strong trade good if you know what you are doing.
This is why my games end at about 1500s or at most 1550s, it's just that I get to powerful even on very hard and lucky nations turned on, so I get bored by not having any real adversary
True, but a lot of people is fun to colonize and get every planet on the universe, that's cool !
How do you get the Burgundian inheritance as Castille? I one RM Burgundy as Castille, still their other RM Oldenburg got it....And I asked the RM to them not viceversa
wait, in my game Aragon changed to republic, so no wedding then and restart?
More please
Isn't there the possibility that when Aragon rivals you and you rivals them back that they might choose a beneficial option that removes them as rivals and gives you 1 stab?
Great video, but unfortunately the image quality is pretty bad. Very blurry, I constantly feel like I have to clean my glasses. A font mod (like Another Stellaris Font) would also be nice for better clarity. The FPS counter on the top left corner is also a bit strange.
why does my isabel always gets replaced by the casttilian civil war. i can never seem to keep her to be my ruler. i dont get it. what am i doing wrong
how did u get 2 rivals at the start
Muy muy buena partodaa
The Burgundian inheritance gave me 140 ae as france. I had to fight England, then Austria /burg and then an 240k coalition right after. What should I have done differently?
You can either make them like you more by just keeping an improve relations interaction on them, or you can take the core lands from them in a war.
Its a bit annoying atm for France to get burgundy but I guess it's the counter to them being op otherwise.
So if you're not bothered trying to force them to be friendly, then go to war with them for the land you've claims on and rinse repeat until they fall under a pu
alt+f4 till u get it
@@kevgl27 Thanks! Yeah, I guess the problem was that I didn't win it but challenged Austria for it. I'll just let it go or scum it next time.
Too bad that you wasted the restoration of union. If you get just one elector to vote for you and pu austria the crown of the hre will fall on your head. I guess you can do it by vassalizing the emperor if you can get a claim on him but getting the hre with austria would have been fun larp and an efficient use of resources
just wait till this guy sees the second part
Yes i know that is possible to beat austria but i am just too lazy to do it
Is it still viable to no-cb Byzantium and take them as a vassal?
Probably, yeah. Haven't tried it though. Tbh, Ottomans might just dec on you if you vassalize Byz
Spain is pain (in the early game).
Very poetic. I approve
I don’t understand how people can just let the ottomans grow like this.
Man, it's kinda amazing how a game with only boss fights has such a banger soundtrack.
cool video also
Spain is NOT an end tag. Great Britain, Ottomans, Byzantium are end tags.
Why is your video quality like 480p?
NOOOOO! Tarkusarkusar would never play EU4!!!!
Clueless
good guide but there is zero reason to become hosile with porugal from the start... he first 30 year porugal is he best possible allie you can find for dealig with morroco
probably true, but it's just a kind of meaningless change to the strategy. At the end of the day, Aragon fills the role Portugal could, if you choose to just be enemies with Portugal right away.
If france doesnt have naples, then burgundy is a superior ally than any other western european country, i have seen burgundy solo fance and its allies far more often than the other way around.
SUS SUUUS SUS GET OUT OF MY HEWAD!!!!! AMOG US.............
form france, as a joke
Followed this guide, vassalised portugal and they took economic ideas.
It’s your fault. I’m holding you accountable.
