    I actually feel Hydra specifically is quite balanced overall. The laser is definitely pretty busted when multiple users stack it on downs/break, but I feel like a substantial nerf to it's laser damage directly just won't feel right without a speed increase. The DPS loss if you miss that shot or if you are interrupted, can end up being pretty punishing during it's charging process. Downs/Breaks are the only practical scenario that it's really used for, so it's high damage should remain there as a way to reward you for it's lengthy cast. If somehow the laser damage can be reduced based on how many 'active' Hydra's was possible, that might be a nice balance to combat this specific scenario with multiple laser stacking.

      Yes and no... Because of LTQs with 8 to 24 Players. It will heavily make Mars Rifle and Mars Staff useless because its nerfing damage based on player count to a Boss who is already buffed based on player count. You might as well go with Mars Melee weapons by then for better DPS.
      That's just one game mode. When Photon Blasts and Compound Techs are not limited in the same way.

    Most bosses that are phase skipped are old content. Even super geared players optimizing breaks was enough for Sega to add the damage reduction before Hydra even existed.
    If you think missing a high roll on pinion or JI sucks how about on the weapon action for Hydra? Mars has 100 floor but you still want your burst to crit.
    I don’t think they should touch it because it’s a great option for gunner off chain. You don’t have to worry about timing your strikeback and chain for a break. Even building one with hail is kind of slow. Now the Scylla interaction with the s being usable on Hydra WA I can agree with if it does work that way.

      i agree its a nice option but its literally the only weapon that does reasonable damage. it cant be the best at everything overshadowing the rest. they realistically should adjust content so you cant abuse the laser so frequently and adjust the other weapons up to a reasonable spot so they have moments they can shine.

      Give or take. Most Class Weapons already do everything. The downside of Mars Range weapons is that it lacks PSE usefulness, and the Ults are too slow. But great for Bossing, it's the only thing going for both.
      While Mars melee weapons can go ham on both PSEs and Bosses. Not top end DPS, but good enough to not be like a Talis or Fists. Which are specialized weapons.

    To me the only thing I think that needs to be updated is it turning speed, not making it really fast but faster than what it is, and letting it track vertically

    Think I got an 864k crit hit during a Dark Falz down. Pretty sure it was just a perfect storm of buffs and debuffs on him.

    You only using Hydra for the massive charge up laser is on you because the heal and pp regen napalms are really good and so are its fun to do normal hits. The laser has barely any tracking and you have to do it yourself and then it also has barely any width.
    I'd rather content creators lke you address the massive, giant elephant in the room that are our buttons now being pushed to the extreme limit. Sega needs to buff and change our palettes and they honestly should have done that 2 years ago or this game is just hard capped at what they can do.
    Like people cry for more PA's and I am just wondering where do you want to put it? Wand Techter is out of any space for skills now with MARS activation button.

    Did 845k with Hydra's Exterminatus on DFA today (and I'm not nearly max out on MARS stats). We literally skipped second and third DPS check. I believe Hydra is OP broken and I love it.

      yeah i mentioned that and even predicted that honestly. i feel like we will get set pieces designed around it for sure

    I hope they don't nerf Base PSO2 Mining Base Laser; and instead buff the other weapons. On the note of Techter buffs dropping off- it's only a problem to note because Blight Rounds work and are a stronger damage buff; It's a carry over property from mechanics of deployable weapons - but it directly impacts the primary class feature of Techters.

    An essay ahead, you've been warned.
    I still love it. I feel M.A.R.S. is a good thing. Unlike a certain fight with a puppeteer where it is impossible to not use the cannon, M.A.R.S. is optional. You aren't forced to use it. And since bosses are only melting to Hydra at Downs (something that must be built up to anyway) and not just having a firing squad at the start, with eight Hydras, ending the fight a little over ten seconds, I still feel that doesn't warrant restricting M.A.R.S. to certain combat. That's a horrible idea. You'll literally have a dead button majority of the time. It is perfectly fine limitless in terms of deployment. I don't use Hydra anyway so I can't weigh in on that, but I'm loving Scylla. M.A.R.S. Units should be strong. Period. That's objective. The questions are: How strong is too strong? And how do we balance it fairly? For example, I love my Scylla. It would not be fair to have it's invincibility nerfed when Hydra is the culprit. I think a simple fix is what I mentioned in the other video. Making the bosses more tanky doesn't seem like it would be a good idea as opposed to just lowering Hydra's Eclipse Cannon damage, while buffing it's charge time. They don't need to utterly obliterate Hydra's damage, unlike what Hydra is doing to everything, they just need to balance it out. I prioritize fun over meta. Always. I just hope they come to a conclusion at least majority of people (especially Hydra Mains) are pleased with. Nerf doesn't have to mean make it trash.

      not sure how much phantasy star games youve played but sega rarely nerfs anything anyway. they will likely adjust the content or buff the other weapons

      @@KronoKatastrophy This is my first. Been playing since October 2022. Anyroad, I used to play Destiny religiously, so I am used to nerfs, pretty much conditioned to expect them when everyone is yelling from Mt. Magnus the exploits, broken damage, etc. I don't know how to feel about everything getting buffed to Hydra Tier. That feels like it might cause more issues. However, if they did that, maybe then they could justify transfiguring the bosses into damage sponges? I know NGS players are virtually impossible to please, so I am curious what SEGA will do.

    nighthoggr is good for aoe and small bosses. Hydra makes such brutal dmg with a active blight round on the boss but in case of tryverus i have the feeling, there is no dps diffrence between m.a.r.s or without m.a.r.s

      I actually disagree that Nidhoggr is good for aoe after using it in bursts so much. It has some aoe but it is really tiny and rather low damage compared to what I usually pull with wand in bursts.

    I think they might not balance MARS, But giving future bosses shorter down or break time to encourage more active gameplays.

      Given that Mars is 9 minutes for a 2 minute full use, vs. a Milignant Boss of 15 minutes. While most players won't be BIS during new Miliginant Bosses.
      Mars is okay. If you're running old content, then Mars isn't the only way to Phase Skip.
      Lowering Break Down and Elemental Down durations isn't a solution when the majority of the Milignant Boss Fight (and UQs) is with Class Weapons. Especially in Public Que.

      for sure, i think people looked at the title and kinda misunderstood the message. Yeah its strong but only in its niche and only for now. its worth talking about where its strong but its not ruined the game or anything

      I agree to this, so far every nice things going get mess up in one way or another.
      Ether if people talking bout it or not it’s going be in a data format ether sega going see it or not.
      It’s like are class people complain bout braver..
      What happened sega didn’t nerf the weapon they made every weapon very close to it’s power.. but still people interpret differently at the end be for we got slayer they kinda nerf it by calling there nerf fixing or adjusting it.

      The title you put is fine however you might need to replace and word it differently, for some people won’t think there’s a problem with it.

    The laser is a lot of fun, though. I like having a mini central cannon on my back. This does give me an idea, though. If they do nerf it, for instance, not being able to spam overboost they could give it a photon blast action like other weapons (I still miss mag photon blasts) that uses all the battery, but deals 2.7mil damage or something crazy like that. It does also use your photon blast.

    I havent really played any of the NGS content for probably 6 maybe 8 months.
    What is hydra and some of the other stuff i keep hearing about BIS, and whatever else keeps popping up in the feed.
    Last time i actually played was mostly when the code geass collab happened and all i did was just ny dailies weeklys and bought the lelouch/CC collab items and that was basically it so i have no onsowledge of anything new in the game besides that.

    Big F***ing Lazer should hale lower charge time (and lower damage to balance)
    It doesn't charge in time during boss breaks

    I think MARS feels awesome to actually use, but i kinda think it’s annoying that I can always use it no matter the content. I actually still really like the combat of the regular classes a lot and I think MARS may overcomplicate things at first glance, and then it oversimplifies combat in general once you figure it out.
    Maybe if it replaced the photon blast (sorta like a roaming super in destiny with a set duration) it would make more sense to me.
    Or, if it was only available for specific quests, urgent quests, and story missions that take place in the sky or in space (think the Archwing missions from Warframe), without any limitations, I would like it a bit more.
    Maybe my mind will change as time goes on though, but it’s weird feeling like I should be using MARS so frequently.

      I played Base PSO2. This is similar to Dark Blast, but not as bad for end-game content.
      Also, NGS is much watered down overall compared to Base. Mars doesn't overtake the Class Weapons.

      dark blast was outscaled twice by the players. ngs isnt watered down compared to base pso2 its just not overly complicated and w/o alot of the system bloat. As someone who played years and years of both ngs just feels more straight forward overall instead of archaic system on system. Tho i will say some classes/bosses are overall faster in base thats really about it. emphasis on some since the others are almost 1 for 1 the same

      Combat wise. It's a 50/50. NGS weapons and Base weapons have its better versions. Such as Base Hunter weapons being better than NGS Hunter weapons. Or, NGS Fighter weapons are better than Base Fighter weapons. Excluding unique skills between classes.
      NGS Force and Base Force is a wild difference in combat options even when sticking with low level Techniques.
      Similarly to Dark Blast. Mars isn't a massive shift in how damage will play out for 90% of the content. We can already phase skip old content before Mars with current BIS. It's mainly Milignant Bosses, and any content of that level is where Mars will be determined. Not public que UQs or LTQs unless there is a dramatic DPS increase by Mars.

      @@absolstoryoffiction6615 That’s good to know, I haven’t played much of base so having this type of mode is entirely new to me. It feels like being in a mech imo, and it’s definitely awesome and doesn’t seem too OP, but it is quite strong… but i think the mech feeling is why its kinda weird to me that its just another thing we can always use. It’s growing on me for sure, but it’s definitely new and strange for me lol.
      I’ll probably just use MARS during downs for now, to get those juicy garm detonations and hydra cannons.

    Hey, at least it's not as broken as Dark Blast was.
    (although I miss the mobility/uniqueness of DB.).
    I don't think MARS Is a problem, more so PSO2 is suffering on the cosmetic content front with a lot of their collabs and their original content keeps coming but feels a lot less inspired, and the gameplay still is in the "chill and relax" stage so no ones really bothering with it but a handful of people.

      dark blast was nearly instantly outscaled. The player was way more broken then dark blast. They buffed it twice and we still outscaled it

      @KronoKatastrophy oh for sure, but it was only outscaled at BiS which a lot of the playerbase didn't have. I think in global at chapter...5(buster quest) it was definitely better in a few patches.
      But I think the problem is the same, pso2 has a decreasing playerbase of people who care about BiS (I'm a long time player and I just log for dailies).

    so i've learned more about the delay action, and it's the most cursed mechanic in the entire game. it uses 12 break points for damage, all of which have the exact same dps. the first 7 are 0.1-0.7 seconds after your last attack and make sense, after that it's 0.83s, 1s, 1.2s, 1.4s, and 1.7s. why they used 12 break points instead of linear scaling when they all have the same dps (within 2 dps of each other between the highest and lowest), i have no clue.
