Built to last ! At least with a rewind you won’t have to bugger around with having to redrill the motor plate mounts.Or you could get a kit with a modern electric motor and variable speed drive so you can change change spindle speeds. But don’t go higher than it was designed for otherwise the headstock bearings fail.
That random bit might go on the elephants foot. Where did you get the quote for rewind, that is way too much. I've had a few rewound and paid around £350, they also changed them to low voltage so I could use cheap vfd's for variable speed
Best lathes out there! Well done. Jealous!
Yes by far the best. Although I had a jubilee once which I loved. This one is a step above

Yes true. And also i guess if i have the original rewound, i already have the machine set up amd i know it is good as new.
Just had it rewound to 3phase with a new inverter. Works a treat.
Do Nova make chucks with the correct thread for that Wadkin, or did you have to get an adaptor made?
I bought an adapter from yandles.co.uk I think. Give them a call, really helpful. If you get stuck I can find the invoice
Yes they do, see comment below or above 🙂

I had it done locally. They were pretty good but just didn't really know exactly what they were dealing with I don't think.
What did he say?
