In the age of high tech camera phones, dash cams, etc I just don’t know WHY people would risk leaving the scene. It’s ALWAYS worse when they catch you later. SMH
Because many times the crimes are not prosecuted. Police leave it to the insurance companies to fight it out. Judges have other things to worry about than traffic accidents and road rage.
They’re called morons
sadly they will face no jail time and only given a ticket and will avoid paying while they continue to drive around hitting people. Then when the DMV takes their license away they dont care and will continue to drive with their uninsured vehicle with stolen plates/tags. these people are scum of the earth.

Oh man the hit and run videos really get under my skin. I can't stand that people actually do this.
That and those who run a red light. I no longer care if the traffic lights is green because I'm 99% sure there will always be that one idiot willing to t-bone another car.
That first clip: I would have pressed charges. People who commit hit and runs should know their crime is not going to go unpunished. I can't help but wonder, is he apologetic for driving like an as~ hole or is he apologetic because he was caught? God forbid he does another hit and run again...in a more serious accident.

Get a good shot of the car description and plate or read it out loud for the camera's mic to record, pull over then call the cops.

pulling over and saying their plate number will not do anything for you. police cannot prove the owner of the vehicle was the one who committed the crime on camera unless you record his face, which 90% of the time doesn't happen. letting them get away will almost always leave you paying for your own repairs. only 10% of hit and runs who get away from the scene are actually solved

someone hit me and ran last year, i chased him down the 405 for six exits before ending up in an industrial area and i pinned his truck against a wall and waited for cops (who let him go with no ticket or charges for damage or fleeing). But his work truck insurance paid, a lot more than the damages I'll tell you that much. Cops told me "stop chasing him" um, no, because the last person who hit me and ran the cops did _nothing_ even though I had his license plate and video. There is no justice in this world unless you make it yourself, as we can see commonly happens 13:46 cops do nothing, insurance does nothing, time to send the good ol boys to his doorstep to collect...

#9- doing 54 (and accelerating) going into an intersection on a busy street. I was able to locate that intersection in Asheville NC and saw that the speed limit was 45.

Someone tried to force me off the road when exiting the freeway once. I called 911 when the person didn't stop. I was told by the 911 operator to follow the person giving updated info about the streets we passed so the police could find her. In my case, she called 911 because I was following her.
They kinda need to. Without concrete identifying information, they will never get justice.

Florida, New York, Texas and California are some of the WORST states to drive in. Why? The Donut Department doesn't care one bit. 99% of the time, they won't even arrest someone for drunk driving as this video showed when that guy hit the other car in California (16:48)...

This reminded me of an incident that happened 20-some years ago. I was sitting at a stop sign in my truck I had back then, with my now ex-wife in the passenger seat and my maybe 2 year old son in the back seat. The Ford Ranger in front of me floored it as he turned sharply at the intersection and his right tire dipped off the pavement, throwing gravel all over the front and right side of my truck. I immediately gave chase. He started weaving down side streets, turning corners constantly. Every cross street he came to, he turned one direction or the other. I stayed one block behind, and when he turned, I turned the same direction on the paralleling street. If he turned away from me, I turned to get behind him. After a few turns, he must have assumed he lost me, and slowed down. I continued stalking him until he finally went down a dead end street. When I turned down the same street, I saw he had tried to hide his truck behind a pair of dumpsters. But, hilariously, I could see the roof, nose, and tail of his truck peeking out from behind the dumpsters. When I pulled up to his passenger side, two young kids got out and immediately began apologizing. I just calmly got out and looked at my truck. Other than some new stone chips to go along with the millions of others my truck was fine, so I wasn't too concerned about damage. Meanwhile, my ex-wife had jumped out and was giving the kid who was driving probably the worst ass chewing of his life. I knew she would, and knew I wouldn't be able to stop her, so I just let her have at it, while I made sure our son and my truck was okay, chuckling from her verbal assault. That kid was scared s**tless when she was done, and she got back in the truck, still slightly annoyed, but satisfied that the kid was positively terrified. Don't piss off mama-bears, guys. From getting into a vehicle pursuit and successfully stalking the kid into the proverbial corner, to the verbal onslaught my wife unleashed on that kid, it was probably the most entertaining moment of my life, lol.
The callouts on #12 is how I need my squad to be if I get in a hit and run. “Get your gun ready” “license plate #” “already got it!” “Pull over pull over” “HE’S STILL CRASHING!”

It's amazing how many of these accidents could have been prevented if the victim had been traveling just a little slower and hit the brake before the horn.

#1 Some people are just criminally minded, these were the actions of someone in the wrong, already doing something wrong and knowing what will happen if he get caught to the point he risks getting others involved speeding off through traffic. Then he has the absolute nerve to act apologetic when he realizes he cant get away in an act of sociopathy that actually worked, a barely human neanderthal through and through.

If you get into an accident on the freeway and your car is still drivable, pull to the RIGHT side of the freeway, The RIGHT side!! The left side is the death side.
What really enrages me is the mild consequences for a hit and run. In my country (Germany) if you commit one it depends on the amount of damage done:
- below $650: monetary penalty
- below $1400: monetary penalty of one month's salary, 2 points to your license and your license is taken away for up to 3 months.
- above $1400: monetary penalty that can be more than one month's salaray, 3 points to your license and your license is taken away. Additionally your license is blocked for at least 6 months (meaning you can't get a new license during this period).
If there are personal injuries and you flee they can also get you for negligent physical injury (fine or up to 3 years in prison) and failure to render assistance (fine or up to 1 year in prison). If the person dies you can also get charged with negligent homicide (fine or up to 5 years in prison).
And then in clip #16 all that happens is he gets a warning. Dude would've likely lost his license here.

#17 They guy hits you, runs and then pulls into an area to assess his damage, obviously thinking he lost you and doesn't need to worry about you following him. So what do you do? Pull in front of him, sit in your car and talk with your passenger about insignificant garbage for what seems like a long time (under the conditions) and he backs up and races away. You're wrong. The car changing lanes is not the Toyota Camry hit by the truck. I watched the video many times trying to sort it out. Two different cars...
No. The same thing happened to me. Was in the right lane sitting under the truck's passenger side Mirrors and then the trucker decide to take my lane. I was kinda lucky he pushed me just at the center of gravity of my car. Was able to maintain going straight for a couple of hundred yards then the truck dragged me side ways for about another two hundred with out flipping.
If he hit me a couple of feet behind, I'm sure I would have shot across the freeway into a line of cars and trucks.

I live by that intersection at 3:28. Accidents happen in that intersection constantly. At least once a day. More than that on Fridays and Saturdays.

#4 This is what's wrong with society today. Soft on crime policies enable these pieces of trash to commit crimes and not spend any time in jail. So they keep doing it. Zero respect for anyone or the property they destroy. Steal a car, crash into two houses and walk off leaving the victims to pay for the damage these scumbags cause. Total trash!
It's not the cops. When they do catch someone the judges/laws let them get away with a slap on the wrist. Between "defund the police" and shrinking budgets cops have to put what officers and man hours available towards something that could actually make a difference. It's the politicians that are the problem.

#6 - The red Van/SUV clearly had his right indicator on plenty early enough for the cammer to let him in (common courtesy), still does not give him the ok to just assume that he will and cut in without checking. Still, a little courtesy could have prevented that accident.
Not only that, once the cammer hit the car, the cammer seemed to accellerate, not brake. I doubt his insurance company was happy to see that footage.
It’s a Scion xB! And yeah, clearly that guy was unfamiliar with the area and didn’t realize it was a duel turn lane. He had his signal and likely fairly assumed the truck was letting him in. Then the truck speeds up instead. At the end of the day, the accident is hit fault & he absolutely should not have attempted to flee, but a little courtesy would’ve avoided that accident completely

And I kno pedestrians have the right of way but idk all the traffic laws involving bicyclists, but doesnt a red light mean a red light for them too?? They cant just run red lights if they're driving on roads, right? And I'm not saying the biker did, but it's like he knew that the crazy driver was coming up behind him, and he knew that he already made a half ass attempt at hitting a pedestrian, so biker guy thinks the best idea is to cross the crosswalk right in front of him??? He really put a lot of faith into those intangible traffic laws, thinking that just bc it's illegal to hit a bike that it means he can do pretty dumb stuff without being touched...but of course it didnt work.
Idk it just seemed like to me the biker guy wanted to be petty and that's why he decided to cut across the cross walk, idk for sure of course. And that would kinda fit with the whole deal seeing as how he totally lied about how much the cars impact or w.e. was. But I do know if you're on a bike and you see a crazy driver attempting to hit pedestrians, it's best to stay as far away as you can so you're not next! 🤦♀️ Cammers really think that those small recording devices give them some sort of authority and power over all others lmao.
