The shower unit was mounted a third of the way through the wall possibly by the previous owner / a plumber. I agree with any comments stating it would have been better to flush mount the shower unit and even better on a narrow side wall. I had just over a day to install the panels and did it for an elderly relative without charging as they couldn't afford to hire someone. Repositioning the plumbing, electrical cables, plaster boarding the hole, skimming, etc would have taken far longer than 12 hrs (well at least for me).
Why do you guys use those power showers in the UK? When I lived in the UK those things were dangerous - not to mention useless. In Australia we have just taps and a shower head only. The heated water comes from a unit outside - generally a heat as you go gas unit or an electric hot water tank.
Fantastic, look like a cheap way to refresh a tired bathroom, and now I know how to install them!
Did you use 7 or 8 tubes around the shower unit?
Is there a product for the shower pan *something that goes over top.
hats off to you
what brand of wall panel did you use?
I’ve been told not to use solvent based silicone on these as it can damage the pvc panel?
You did an amazing job! Where did you buy the walls? I’m trying to do the same thing for my bathroom because it’s difficult to keep the tiles clean. Did you buy a basin for the bottom? Thank you
Thànk you
Could this be done on only one wall?
I assume there was some trim protruding at the shower basin for the tiles. Did you remove this and what do you fill the gap with? And why can't you use 5mm panelling in the shower?
Once installed and up and running, what do you use to clean them?
Could u post a link for the trims please . Both the sliver stuff and the white one around the bath ?
We got the panels, trims, etc from The Panel Company in the U.K. just do a search on the internet for them.
so long as the silicone around the electric shower is different!
How do you manage to align and join the panels if the old tiled wall is a little uneven and not absolutely square? Any issues or hints please?
Fill out low spots with plastic flat packers, they are used when installing windows. They are sold in different thickness 0.5 mm, 1 mm , 2 mm, etc. In the old days they would use wood packers but that isn't such a good idea in a humid room like a bathroom.
How long can last ?
Where can you buy this at?
You shouldn’t put sealant on the shower unit look it
U should have taken the shower off the wall cut 2 holes for electric and water feed, you then would nit have a huge silicone seal to cover your cutting, shame u bodged it,
The shower unit is mounted half way through the partition wall, not sure why it was installed like this by the plumber / previous owners. We would have needed to repostion the plumbing, install new plasterboard, skimming, etc hence I went for the other option.
this maroon forgot to mention the most important item....the panels. what brand, where did you buy it etc. Such a waste of time watching this channel.
You don't have to use exactly the same panels you know! 😂
