    I have 95,000 kms on my 2020 Rocket GT so I will chime in. The heat from the engine is no more than any other large engine motorcycle, in fact the Harley Ultra I used to own gave off more heat. And I live in one of the hottest places on the planet. I did put the mid range pegs on the GT and much prefer the mid range setup. The quick shifter is so much fun and highly recommended. In the twisties, especially the steep uphill ones where the massive torque can do its thing nothing much will keep up with the Rocket. I have never been passed by another cruiser and very few sport bikes have passed me. I have passed more of them than have passed me. Of course a good rider on a powerful sports bike will pass me for sure in the tight stuff. In my opinion this it the most versatile street machine there is. I can comfortably tour with the cruisers and get in some serious play with the sport bike folks. Finally after all those kms I still get the stupid grin when I peg the throttle. Thanks for your review.

      I'm glad to see someone chime in regarding the mid control/peg swap. I just purchased a gently used GT and currently have the mid kit on order. I'm curious if, for you, the deciding factor was more for comfort or for control? Personally I feel I have better handling confidence when my feet are right below me or even a bit behind. I can handle it fine as is, but I'm really excited to see how the change will enhance the experience 😊

    • @jimanders9971

      @@emilysimmons7318 For me it was 100% comfort for sure. It took effort to keep my feet on the forward pegs at high speed. With the mid pegs gravity helps keep my feet planted. The handling feels the same to me and I love my twisties. But I will say I never scraped the pegs in the forward position but I have with the mid pegs

    I absolutely love my 2021 ( bought new) R3 GT. I've owned 28 bikes during my short riding career of 63 years. This is the all around most satisfying ride I've owned. The trans with the quick shifter is the smoothest and best of all my machines. The torque is beautiful, the handling is far better than you would believe and the fit and finish are sooo well done!
    I cannot find a single thing to complain about other than the fact that Triumph seriously detuned this 2500 cc engine from which they could have easily extracted 225-250 HP..
    When riding, you feel planted and solid with a confidence inspiring stability. Did I say, I love this bike?!!
    I also think it is a visual work of art.

    I purchased mine 2/9/24 for $15,000 with 300 miles on the odo. It is a 2020 GT and loaded with any options. Rode it 60 miles to my house. The torque is a monster. The dealer in Texas said there is an exhaust kit that takes the horsepower and torque up by 30%. I can't imagine.

    I have a 2023 Rocket 3 GT, and I absolutely love this bike. The power is amazing, but she doesn't feel like she's gonna kill you. The exhaust gets a little warm after a while, but nothing like my 2008 Mean Streak 1600 or the 2021 Lowrider S I recently had the chance to ride. I wear a size 13 boot and have no problem with the pegs. The bike handles better than it should. My Mean Streak handles well for a heavy cruiser, but this beast blows it away in the twisties. The stopping power impressed me as well. My wife rides on the pillion and says the backrest is nice when extended. Her legs do get a bit cramped though. Gas mileage sucks but this bike is about the smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon. All in all... Favorite bike I've ever owned or ridden.

    The Rocket is my daily rider because I leave in rural America with light traffic and mainly dual carriageway to work and back (20 miles each way). The brakes are fantastic. Had 2 deer jump out in front of me and stopped in time at 45mph. Never locked up the back brakes. I turned the rear suspension down half way and left it there. Added the bags, heated Corbin seat, werks exhaust, bigger fly screen and moved the pegs to mid mounted. I ride my other bikes and so didn't get the quick shift. It's bad enough when having to change to shifting on the right without forgetting the clutch. The only problem is that it makes other bikes seem tame but the Rocket is very easy to ride under 3000rpm.

    • @markettradinggenius
      @markettradinggenius Před rokem +2

      Ian, I have 2 questions: First, how is the handling around curves? Have you scraped your pegs yet? Secondly, and most importantly, how is the reliability of the Rocket(did you have any mechanical or electrical issues yet) ? Thirdly, if you ever rode in the rain, did you get any backsplash of mud/dirt/water on your back because of the rear tire guard ?

    • @iangoodwin4275
      @iangoodwin4275 Před rokem +2

      @Market Trading Genius l forgot to mention the rear Tyre is good for 6K. The rear mud guard isn't very effective but not getting much or any on my back. It may be the GT model is better. No problems at all with the bike I would recommend new batteries in the key fob as soon as you purchase it.

    • @iangoodwin4275
      @iangoodwin4275 Před rokem +1

      I haven't scraped my pegs on the Rocket. I have scraped them on other bikes. I think that may be more the way I ride it. The torque allows me to enter the curve at a low speed and come out fast. It corners well enough but not as good as a sports bike or the new Trident because its so long and heavy. So you could say I don't push the limits on it.

    I own a 2021 R3GT in Orlando, Florida, and I love that bike more than bacon.
    I will say that the motor puts off more heat than a nuclear reactor - especially in the hot and humid Florida summers - but the shear thrill of its performance makes it but a trivial inconvenience.
    And I can pass everything on that bike... except a gas station. I wish her legs were a bit longer (about 140 miles is max that I comfortable going on a tank), but that is my only complaint.

    I own one, just bought it, put 3k miles on it bringing it home from the store, west coast to TN. great trip. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Plan to do the four USA corners in a counter clock wise loop - FL, ME, WA, CA with her in the spring.
    Funniest thing so far...
    Having owned it for about 10 minutes, I thought, let's see what she can do. So I quickly twist the throttle and she does take off, well, like a rocket, so much so that as she pulls me aft, inadvertently twist the throttle even more, pushing me back even harder, thus even more throttle, more push... All the way to red line governor.
    Riders are NOT kidding when we say "you better hold on, because she will take off in an instant and assume the rider knows what (s)he is doing". I am positive with some practice, I will get sub 3 second 0-60 times. Accelerate now, ask questions later. Maybe a safety sticker is needed.... "Warning: energetic use of throttle displaces riders."
    Anyway, love what Jim Anders had to say, and I echo it. Hard to get over that grin. And, like with most bikes (well, most things, actually), performance comes down to the (wo)man not the machine. If you ever get a chance to ride one, do it. Nothing like it imho.

      I just rented the Lowrider S. It has nothing on the Rocket when it comes to take off. It also literally burned my thigh when I was stuck in traffic. It vibrated way more and couldn't corner as well, even at slow speeds. I did enjoy the low seat height and it was fun to just cruise on, but all in all it made me appreciate my Rocket all the more.

    Very Good Bike detail Review, obviously the Rocket 3 will sell itself. NOTE: Please never-ever mention that a Bike has a "Big-Price", let alone to keep harping on and on and on about it's cost, Clearly that just kills the opportunity for those interested in wanting one of these fine bikes from showing your excellent detailed review to their Partner/Spouse/Misses ETC. Obviously the price is the price, so just simply mention its cost "Once" and move on. I couldn't show this to my wife because of such continuous big-cost comments as that would kill it with her as many others. I apologize if that upsets you, but that's a real fact of concern.

      Hi Bob , appreciate comment, bit amiss if I didn’t make mention of the price , but I’ve noted the harping on bit . Easy to do when you’re caught up in all this video stuff . I do hope that you find a suitable video to show your partner 🙈GT is a great bike . Ride safe and keep it the right way up 👍👍

    I own a 2015 Triumph 2300 Rocket. Its my only ride and a daily rider. I have 42,000 miles on her. I am 6'2, 215 pounds. I live in the United States ( southern California). I rode this Triumph all over the U.S including Canada and Mexico. Love it. But if you are "soft" mentally or physically, it may be too much for you. You need to be ALL MALE.

    The pillion is terrible. We took it to Spain and fully loaded with luggage and triumph pillion seat and back rest my partner found it intolerable. The handling was appalling. The cruise control was also a huge issue and lurched my passenger into the back of my helmet every time it was disengaged. My old rocket 111 was way better. As a GT ( grand tourer) it was not fit for purpose!! I sold it immediately we got back and bought a Ducati Multistrada V4S which is superior in every respect. Simon

    TWO AND A HALF LITRES?! Why? Really, why? I’ll leave that displacement for my car, thank you very much. You can get more than ample horsepower and torque with a fraction of the displacement and weight. Not my cuppa mate. But to each his own. Whatever turns your crank.
