  • Orion Dog Kennels are the perfect travel accessory to keep your pups safe and secure. Both Zip and Brindi love whenever I pull these bad boys out because they know right away that a fun and exciting adventure awaits them. And the wife loves them because it keeps the truck clean! Keeping your dog in a kennel is also safe for the dog, and protects your dog in a crash.

    Best designed kennels I have seen. Will have to check those out. Might have to charge my dogs rent until they are paid for.

      I wish, the amount of time/effort I put into a single video makes it impossible for me to do that kind of schedule, while also having a full time job and a happy family. Lol maybe one day!

    These seem so much better than the traditional plastic crates, just wish they were available in the UK

      Alas, they are discontinued in the US so really no one can get them now :(

    How does it hold up in rain?

    What size are the ones in the Video. I think I need the AD3 or AD4. The kennel looks strong, not sure about the door. It looks more effort than a regular kennel door. I have a belgian malinois that chewed through an inexpensive airline kennel and got out so I know she will try her best to escape. Are there weak points that she can tear it open?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  Před 2 lety

      This is the AD4, big enough for my Dutch Shepherd before she passed away. As for the door, it's similar to how Jackson Kayak (parent company) made cargo hatches for they kayaks, so I imagine they are pretty strong. The weakest point of the door is the weather seal but so far had no jailbreaks.

    bought 2 this fall been wondering how do secure the kennels in the bed of the truck?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  Před 2 lety

      You can attach to the carry handles or just ratchet the kennel itself to your anchors on the bed.

    Where can i buy these? I have looked online and can't find them at all.. :/

      The parent company pulled the rug out from under them... It sucks because I really do enjoy these kennels

      I called 23 dealers yesterday. I finally found 2 that they had in inventory. I bought an AD2 and an AD3.
      Questions:
      What size are these in the videos?
      Can you help me find the carabiners that I find for the LATCH system in my vehicles?
      And any of the other accessories?
      Thank you, very cool video. You do great work!

    how is it when it rains?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      Well I can't say that I've used it a ton in the rain... but I would say it handles it as good as it can with having ventilation. The top is fully sealed off, but the sides do have holes for proper ventilation so if it's really raining/windy rain will inevitably blow in. A good option is to have a small/thin tarp in the pups packs so if you have to use it in the rain you can whip it out and secure it over the top to better seal it off from the elements :) *hope that answers your question!

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      @@xzinx Totally! These are (in my option) the best. In terms of camping trips, one of my favorite things is that it's also like a side table for holding cups so you can keep your pup close by. Happy camping brother!

    Are these kennels crash tested?

    • @innerbarkoutdoors
      @innerbarkoutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      My understanding is that there is no approved DOT testing for dog kennels. There is "official testing" that some woman who owns a rival company came up with, but to my knowledge it's not backed up by science and research like for baby car seats and seatbelts for adults. Orion kennels had demos on their site which showed how forces were dispersed over a length of time I stead of abruptly which is how modern restraints are supposed to work.
