This was from 98 so it probably coulda inspired the character to an extent, if casting for that movie saw this clip and they were looking for an egotistical character, this would fit the role perfectly.

David Spade is chill and funny. He would do fine with women, I imagine. Brad Pitt is chill and funny, and hot. But I imagine both of them at a party (non-famous) would both get along just fine. Though Brad could probably just stand there, doing nothing and attract people.

the kind of insecure that needs to cattily make you laugh at someone else to be sure you're not laughing at him. He's the kind of guy who'd try to charm you at a party by badmouthing all his friends behind their backs.

Young Brad Pitt, on the other hand, always radiates an energy like he is, in the calmest way, happy to see you.
Those are just impressions, it doesn't mean that's how they actually were, but I can't imagine being attracted to anyone who was the former.
