hi @jacqalas, I bought these to connect to my main Cudy router (X6) in the house, so I could expand my network and don't have to keep on manually connecting to a different SSID when I move around and the wifi signal is weak but not weak enough to disconnect and autmatically reconnect to the stronger network. But, I must be doing something wrong because this is not how it works for me. I still have to manually connect to the Cudy M1800 when I am in its range. In the box I only have the quick start guide and it's low on detail. Where can I get more information? For instance, do I use the same SSID of my main cudy X6 router? Or should the Cudy AX1800 pick up what my main router SSID is? Must I reconfigure my entire network including the X6 main router? Any help (in Afrikaans or English) will be much appreciated!

I have not used the x6 but I would guess it's as easy as to log into the router and set it to mesh mode or to look for a menu that activates mesh. Then simply put your mesh device (1800) next to the router and push the pair button and put the router also in pair mode and suppose that will connect them.

Maybe if u use the mesh wifi router mode. These devices don't like to operate without internet.

Does the first of these need to connect to main router with LAN cable to be set up? And if so, does it have to stay connected with that cable?

Yes it does. I would suggest you use the same SSID( wifi name) if you can disable the main router wifi. If you can't disable the main router wifi, then rather use a different SSID on the main router.

@@jacqalas thanks, that makes sense. I have a Cudy router which supports mesh, so I was hoping not to waste one of the Access Points to stand right next to the router.... I'll play around when I get the kit though.

In that case, you might only need to press the button on the back and make it part of the mesh.

I don't get this video, is this a how to set up the cudy mesh or just to show the product. You never actually showed how to set it up. No app no how to set the main node whether you should connect to the main node when setting up using the app or stay connected to your current WiFi router... Or placement of the nodes... Nothing ???

This was supposed to be only an unboxing but I've gotten quite familiar with the product over the last few months. The thing is that every environment is unique. The idea is not to use your router's Wi-Fi anymore but only these devices except if you have a cudy router and the router can be part of the mesh. The best way to use these AP's now Is to connect to them using the app. The new cudy app allows you to even connect to them via cloud. They must just be on the latest firmware and that is also available through the app or the website.
