You played very well! Polaris is really hard to play and maybe even harder to play against. Usually, you can apply pressure to them early on, because their economy is pants. Otherwise you need to react to what your opponent is doing and try to stay one step ahead of them (extra difficult). In this game, I think you were a bit slow in getting knights, while getting plenty giants (expensive)
Units with dash can break the ice very easily (riders and scouts), so using them to break the polaris' ice usually blocks their agression very well. Cloaks are also pretty great for this, although that is a late game option
I played a game with Polaris that ended in five turns. I spawned next to my opponent and froze both of their warriors repeatedly. They did not have fun.
My friend, have you heard of the wonderful world of moonie kiting? It is bliss to hunt starfish and ruins on turn 5+, but you are pushing your luck with that strat
You could have played your outposts waaaay sooner. Even instead of getting fishing tech, get outposts right away. You get like 7 stars per turn upgraded your first two cities right away and can later easily afford the fishing tech
Why didn't you opt for sledding when you noticed he'd gone riding? Also why'd you get the fast gaami when there were so many resources around your capital? I usually play polaris rather slow, focusing on the mid- to endgame, and thus would've definitely chosen border growth there
I would like you to play Cymanti in the collab and spam peace treaty, cloaks, and boosted defender 😁 Edit: this strategy ends after you get - boosted defender - boosted cloaks - 2 peace treaty accepted After that you play like however you wanna play

I think you have to mutch fun with polaris. Maby consider playing them during the polytuber match.😉
