Remember during the week we didn't want to wake up early since we had to go to school , but when it came to Saturday Morning's back in the 60's we got up on our own ( with excitement as we sat down in front of tv with our favorite bowl of sugar sweet cereal as we were glued to the tube watching our favorite Superhero cartoons from 8:00 in the morning until about 1:00 in the afternoon . I truly miss those days of fun and adventure every Saturday morning . Compared to today , we no longer have any reason to get up early on Saturdays anymore . I wish they'd bring back these old cartoons, they used to be on cartoon network and then boomerang but not anymore. Bring back these old classics because they 1,000 times better than anything they have today.
Watching my grandkids having to watch these new computer generated cartoons is very sad they don't know there was better animation. For me these new computer animation cartoons are just to creepy for me to try to get into with my grand kids.
These were the best I had always got up early and mapped out what I wanted to watch if I had seen it before I'd watch another channel they would have It weeks later but even if I missed anything they would rerun it a month later

Space Ghost came along with the Herculoids were very cool, as was Johnny Quest. Wished they had produced more episodes. To bad we didn't have DVR or even VHS and could record other shows on the other networks that you wanted to watch but didn't because they would be on at the same time as one you would regularly watch.
Brilliant, thank you for the labor of love & effort. I watched all these as a kid and still had time to play outside with my friends. I wish I could go back to the 1970s.
Ah, Saturday morning cartoons in the sixties. Nothing was better. Johnny Quest, Bugs Bunny, and all the Hanna Barbara cartoons (Space Ghost, Herculoids etc.). My mom used to have to kick me out of the house by 10:30, or I'd be watching until noon. Lol

@@1701echopapa That's right -- inspired by TV's "The Wild, Wild West", down to the recurring pint-sized genius villain (Miquelito Loveless/Tiny Tom). The best treatment of the Ranger ever, IMO, incld. the radio serials and movies.
As a kid I was very familiar with Mighty mouse, I recognized him since I could remember but never watched the Show. I remember trick or treating as a kid and a guy gave us small Mighty mouse toys and I remember being fascinated because the toy was way older than me. I also remember going to a flea market and telling my parents look it's Mighty mouse! Then the elderly man held out the stuffed Mighty mouse and said very loud "here I an to save the day!".
All these US cartoons remind me of shows like The Banana Splits and H.R. Pufnstuf that were regulars on Saturday morning kids’ TV in the UK in the 70’s! Especially The Banana Splits, as that show also had many of these cartoons on in between Fleegle and co’s skits. The one I recall the most was The Arabian Knights!
None of the cartoons in this video are anything like Banana Splits and Pufnstuf. Those shows had less action (not to mention being mostly live action and not animated) due to the crackdown on violence in U.S. cartoons. A wild superhero adventure show set in out space like Space Ghost is light years (no pun intended) away from tame kiddie shows like Splits and Pufnstuf.

Things I didn't see on this that should've been there; 1-GIGANTOR 2-( although I can't remember what day this came on) CAPTAIN SCARLET & THE MYSTERONS 3-( see above) FANTASTIC VOYAGE cartoon 4-JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH cartoon 5- I'm really surprised Speed Racer wasn't on this someplace. I know somewhere it became a Saturday thing even though it had weekday afternoon runs on WLVI Channel 56 ( same place that Creature Double Feature eventually ended up on) Anything else I can think of either got covered or, came out later, like THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN or RETURN TO THE PLANET OF THE APES cartoon of even the animated version of Star Trek.
I remember being a kid and the music alone would get me going. It is a pity that there are no more Saturday morning cartoons. Hanna-Barbera cranked out some wild ones. There was only two live action I can recall, Shazam and ISIS. A bowl full of sugar frosted cereal and Saturday morning cartoons as a kid, the best. Nice job, Fred.

Things I didn't see on this that should've been there;
1-GIGANTOR
2-( although I can't remember what day this came on) CAPTAIN SCARLET & THE MYSTERONS
3-( see above) FANTASTIC VOYAGE cartoon
4-JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH cartoon
5- I'm really surprised Speed Racer wasn't on this someplace. I know somewhere it became a Saturday thing even though it had weekday afternoon runs on WLVI Channel 56 ( same place that Creature Double Feature eventually ended up on)
Anything else I can think of either got covered or, came out later, like THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN or RETURN TO THE PLANET OF THE APES cartoon of even the animated version of Star Trek.
I am young but I saw many re runs of my favorite Atom Ant baby!
They need to bring all of these heroes back to both DVD and Blue-Ray.
There was the Ark and Space Academy and then Jason of Star Command also and all of them where shown on the CBS Network at that time.
HR Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, and everything else by Sid & Marty Krofft was live action, as was Land of the Lost.
@@roberthaworth8991 Thank you for that reminder.
There were also a live action segment in the Banana Splits show; Danger Island, which featured a young Jan Michael Vincent.
@@tygrkhat4087 I almost forgot about Danger Island, thank you.
The 60s and 70s had the best Saturday morning cartoons!!
I so miss the 60's
They need to bring these cartoons back. All of them.
The best cartoons ever
I was born in the early 60s I remember watching all of these. The weekend was the best Saturday was the greatest moment in my life. I remember Dr. Shock watching that also. These cartoons today comes no where close very disappointing.
I still love the Underdog theme song
I had forgotten the words! How about Mighty Mouse? Always think of Andy Kaufman lip syncing the theme song on SNL
@@samanthab1923 I do too
Those cartoons were so much better than what came after the 60,'s
