- I've been trying to expand my musical library recently and thought, since I have some experience making music, that I'd check out a new band.
This is my first ever music reaction so I hope it is ok.
The song is a suggestion from the comments called Scream for me by Lovebites. I know nothing about this band...literally nothing.

If you don’t like guitar solos, don’t listen to LOVEBITES! Guitar solos are Midori’s and Miyako’s specialty. They are one of the best guitar duo’s in metal music today.
Another failed wannabe musician that knows notthing about music. As soon as he said he played in a band for 10 years and knows something about being in stage I knew he was a know-nothing dork. 10 years in some local crap band. He is to be laughed at because he is a joke. A failure. A loser in life.
The irony of you, a guy who doesn't care for guitar solos, FIRST hearing/seeing LOVEBITES play their ONE song with 4 X as many guitar solos as ANY of their other songs! ... almost beyond 'chance' (what was gerard thinking?)
Lyrical depth? This song is about finding paths to non-violent conflict-resolution. Most all of their songs have quite profound lyrics, especially considering, all English from Japanese writers. Honesty about life's challenges, self-empowerment, personal-responsibility, empathy & unity are consistent 'themes'. All songs have a solo by each guitarist, at least, most a duet also.
Though I know nothing of Sleep Token, it is because I have similar with LOVEBITES as you with Sleep Token.
I currently don't 'need' any other bands. LOVEBITES play everything from ballads to thrash along with classical, NWoBHM, some hard-rock, are Power-Metal-Masters with 60 originals including some seamless prog blends within songs.
A former ballet dancer, R&B/Soul vocalist, all members play piano, contribute to song-writing, a classical virtuoso pianist, drummer that supports vocal & chordal melody with an array of quick-decay-cymbals/toms & precision dbl-kicks for 2 hours.
If you enjoy, or can tolerate a "Positive Vibe" in many metal subgenre, LOVEBITES will be a joy & uplift.

You ask who are these young women? Here's my answer: the best band and twin guitars in metal history. And without being pretentious, believe me at 71 years old I have a little And please, please avoid interruptions during guitar solos if that's not too much to ask. Thank you.
LOVEBITES are primarily a Power Metal band, however they also have some Thrash Metal songs (my personal favourites). This song really is just a rock song, so it is quite different from their "normal" stuff. They are elite musicians - in fact, I can make a reasonable argument that they are collectively the most musically talented metal band on the planet. Every one of their songs contains guitar solos, almost always from both guitarists, and often followed up by a harmonised guitar solo.
For old school metal fans like me, listening to them (even with the vocalist's strong Japanese accent) is just heaven on earth. But if you don't like metal (which I get the impression you don't), then it simply doesn't matter how good they are, you won't like them. If you hate seafood, you're not going to enjoy a $10,000 seafood platter prepared by a michelin chef. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with not liking a particular genre of music. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the exact same stuff. To your credit, what you didn't do is say, "I personally didn't like that song, therefore it is bad". You appreciated their musicianship even though the song wasn't to your personal taste.
P.S. I've never even heard of Sleep Token, so I'll give them a listen now.
Edit. I listened to "The Summoning" and "Take Me Back to Eden". It's not really my type of music - way too slow and musically very simple. I think LOVEBITES speed and technical complexity have spoilt me.
Power metal band? Power metal songs make up less than 50% of the band's original songs. Everything else is progressive, thrash, neoclassical, speed metal, a little symphonic metal, as well as hard rock. Thrash songs make up approximately 15 -18 % of the total number of original LOVEBITES songs. Never and nowhere have the ladies called themselves a power metal band. Always and everywhere they talked about themselves as a heavy metal band. For the rest I agree with you. Nothing personal🤗

This is not the track you want to listen to from Lovebites if you don't particular like guitar solos because out of the about 60 songs in their catalogue, this track has the most solos. These amazingly talented ladies play a seamless and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash/prog/neoclassical metal/heavy rock/power ballads which makes their sound unique. This song one of their 60 masterpieces was composed to play exactly such amount of solos_14_ and show virtuosity of Ladies. The rest songs posses great solos as well, one, two or three for one song.

This song is insane - when it comes to solos. No other Lovebites song comes close to it.
No Lovebites song is even close to sleep token. They are very different.
Lovebites is mainly speed metal or trash, performed by i extremely talented musicians.
Personally I love Lovebites but have mixed feelings regarding Sleeptoken.
As far as I understand it - you want something deeper that has some kind of more profound message.
Judgement day? When destinies align? Dancing with the Devil? A frozen serenade? Swan song?
Lovebites Metal Queens !.. They have 60+ songs of greatness.. All these ladies are multi talented virtuosos
not the typical lovebites song, especially for starters. but stick with them, it´s very rewarding.
This is a fun stuff but, as TheCyberMantis mentioned, this is not typical Lovebites. Since you mentioned you play guitar, bass, drums, and sing, and some keyboard may be. This song sits at #33 out of their 58 songs in my LOVEBITES rankings. So many better songs than this one IMO.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band and has improved greatly since this video from 2019. If you are a fan of classic guitar solos then you will enjoy this song, but otherwise there isn't a lot to get super excited about with this track IMO. They have 20-30 songs better than this one. Asami has much better vocals in their other songs and the guitar work has improved greatly since they made this video. I suggest as a next reaction to do one of their recent releases. JUDGEMENT DAY would be a good choice. They have a music video and a live video of Judgement Day on their official YT channel. Either one is good.
Nah this dude is not going to like Judgement Day, he prefers slow songs with a soulful solo maybe Edge of the World and Swan Song

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.

This is an overview of LOVEBITES' 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 from band members). Not a single bad of mediocre song, no fillers. Many solos though. They fail to disappoint. All 5 are masters of their craft, they play different styles, fast, relentless, effortless and tight. Fasten seat belts and enjoy your ride!
"Scream For Me" is on the top list of some fans for several reasons, but it's a pretty unusual introduction to LOVEBITES. Solid song with record breaking 14 solos. There are many very different songs out there, you can take any and won't be disappointed...
I don't rank it anywhere near the top of their catalog for me. It is somewhere in the middle. I could name at least 30 LOVEBITES songs I like better than this one.@@rainerzufall42

Yeah, Lovebites are pretty far from Sleep Token. Lovebites play metal in the classic 80s style, whereas what I've heard from Sleep Token is barely metal at all, so this may not be the band for you. Every Lovebites song has a lengthy solo section, although not as long as the ending of this one. If you don't like solos you definitely shouldn't be listening to Lovebites. However, you wanna give them another shot, recommend any of their recent live videos on YT. Hammer of Wrath, Liar, Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver, and of course Swan song. I'm 51yr old metalhead from the US. Lovebites is my Sleep Token, and 2nd closest doesn't exist. 🤘

This song is a bit of an anomaly for Lovebites, as it's more or a less a guitar battle, really. Their songs generally feature less guitar solos and a more clear structure. I still love this one though, also thanks to the crunchy bass intro.

Excellent my favorite song of theirs and the live version which has the best sound quality.
Personally I prefer at least 30 other LOVEBITES songs more than Scream For Me. Asami's vocals on this song aren't her best. Midori and Miyako have much more impressive solos in their other songs. This is also on the slow side compared to the rest of their work. What is it about this song you love so much? I'm curious.
@@ChadTheDragonLord I love the extended solo, and this was one of the first songs I found that it solidified me as a fan. And this song has a "Power Ranger Core" vibe, that reminds me of Giant Robots punching Giant monsters in the face, like in Power Ranger, Ultra man, Jonny Soko and his Giant Robot an a thousand Japanaese Mecha animes and giant monster films that just loved these films when I was a kid (Godzilla, Rodan, Gamera etc), very nostalgic (in a good way)

I can‘t see that here! Mocking the drummer and guitarists is not a sign of respect! For that reason…let it be and continue listen to Sleep Token…sounds boring to me, but if you like it, do it!

All songs are sung in English 🤭 If you like Japanese artists, I recommend Kaze Fujii. There are also songs played on the piano. It's Jpop, but there are a lot of really good songs. I only listen to LOVEBITES though 😆

Not a big problem if you like guitar solos. This song has 14 of them I think. It isn't a typical song by them. The best "feature" of this band is their guitar playing so they like to incorporate guitar solos in every song.

Their song Spirit Black, 2011, watch the official music video, was the first massive hit that opened the floodgates to the whole mass of great Japanese Metal and Rock bands.
Some people will recommend songs to people without taking their tastes into account. Lovebites is heavily influenced by 1980s metal and they have lots of shreddy guitar solos, so recommending them to someone who doesn't like those kinds of solos is not the best move.

You like sleep Token fine for me , sound like nothing I would listen to, the music is boring as hell the Guitariffs in every song are the same at least the songs I checked out with blend of electronic pop with heavy metal rap and a piece of night wish , there was a German band played Music in this style many many moons ago . But the world would be boring if we all like the same , you don't like Guitar solos , I don't like Synthesizer solos they are played entirely by the Synthesizer by a touch of a button as well as the speheric sounds. . that is summarized what sleep token is for me . Something I fell asleep listen too. Lovebites is not your thing it is okay . So move on to the next because you will not find any Lovebites song without a Guitar solo. Thanks for checking them out.
