    Let's be fair, it's a dance not a trad session. Notes played in predictable order, people seemed to enjoy the dance. job done. Some players didn't even look at the music...:)
    The band gets together for this from various other traditions. For set piece dances, accuracy and predictability win over virtuosity and spontaneity when that number of people rely on you to hop around.
    We could alternatively saw away grimly staring at the floo taking werselves very serouuslyr like hacking the music from a musical rockface as in some trad sessions.

    Sheet music?? At a session?? OMG, grow up and learn your tunes. Not that The Plane Tree is that challenging as far as jigs go - even English ones.

      Blimey, we never expected the ( Spanish) Session Inquisition.
      Horses for courses- it's a dance, not a trad session, and needs to follow predictable,sometimes more pedestrian patterns,not the more vibrant speeds and virtuosity of a trad session,and the band gets together from different traditions.
      Seems to suit the dancers anyway.
