How to Install Outside Mount Shutters

Most people think installing their own shutters is hard. Following the simple, step-by-step instructions in this video though makes hanging your custom shutters easy to do yourself! Just assemble the frame, mount the frame over the window, hang the panels and you’re done!
Here’s how you do it:
1. Lay the frame sections with the hinges facing the floor. Align them into a rectangle, making sure to
take note of the label on each one to indicate where in the window it will be (T for Top, B for
Bottom, L for Left, R for Right).
2. Gently insert the Hoffman Key into the slots on end of each section of the frame and squeeze them
together.
3. Center the frame on the wall around the window and drill in the two top screws. Drill them back out
slightly to allow for adjustments.
4. Attach the panels to the frame by lining up the hinges, and dropping a pin to secure them together.
5. Place a level on the bottom frame, and shift it left to right until it is straight. Hold the frame in place,
and insert screws into the bottom holes of the left and right frames.
6. Make sure the panels are straight and close easily. If they don’t, drill out the bottom screws slightly,
and shift the frame until it is level again.
7. Tighten the top screws.
8. Use the remaining frame holes to drill in rest of screws.
9. Tilt louvers open and closed by gently tilting the control louver.
10. Congratulations! You just installed your own shutters! Wasn’t that easy?
