    Finally someone talking about the jitters. Thank you!!!

      Yeah, jitters can definately be a concern with this slider; the auto tune setting seemed to make a huge difference to the overall smoothness of the system which I'm happy about.

    Appreciate this! Lots of videos out there just scratching the surface, but yours is by far the most helpful and in depth. Thank you

    Would be really great if we could set the pan and left to right slider keyframes independently. You don't always want those two thing linked equally.

    Hey Ian! This tutorial was amazing and has helped me get my slider working properly. THANK YOU! I have one question if you don't mind? If the camera has to be perpendicular to the slider on set up, how do we create shots that push inward toward the subject? Similar to your movement @19:08 ... ?

      @ianthurstan  Před rokem +1

      Hiya, really glad the video was helpful ☺️ once you’ve done the initial setup the cameras orientation and angle can be changed to face forward, which will allow you to get the moving forward shots.
      It only needs to be perpendicular at the initial setup stage ☺️ hope this answers your question 👍

    Thanks for this - covering the jitters was greatly appreciated. Can I ask - did you ever update the firmware? Lots of talk out there of people who have done this only to get it bricked! I'm nervous too... plus iFootage do not make it clear how to update... Be interested in if you did and perhaps a tutorial as hinted at in this video. Keep up the great work!

      Hiya, I’ve not updated the firmware for a while (sometimes I’ll go months or even years without updating firmware just Incase their are major bugs). if the current version I’m using is fairly stable I’ll leave it as is, unless there’s some incredible new features, and even then I’ll normally wait months just Incase there are reported issues, so I won’t be on the latest firmware; I remember that the first few firmware updates I performed really struggled to go through smoothly and failed a couple of times which always made me nervous to update it

    My Shark Nano isn't triggering my Sony A7s3 through the shutter cable. Any idea about what menu settings on the camera will allow it to get the slider to trigger the shutter?

  • @sijou4441

    Hey Ian! Did you manage to control your Sony camera with the provided shutter control cable in time lapse mode? Would the slider advance than stop before shutter is activated than advance to the next position ( in micro-movements) or is just moving continuously? I have an a7R2 and A74, - and I read on the forums that a A74 owner couldn't trigger the shutter at all even after replacing the cable provided... any thoughts?

    Can't find any information on a factory reset. I powered on my slider today (have used it many times in the recent past) and it just hangs on the start screen. I've tried powering it on and off several times to no avail. Can't connect Bluetooth as well. Anyone have this experience and if so have you and how do you fix it?

    worthless for anything larger than an iphone. after extensive testing i returned it. too much jitter with normal camera. junk

      Personally I've had good success with smaller mirrorless cameras, especially if you perform an autotune in the settings once the camera has been attached, but i agree that for larger cameras it's defiantly not suitable
