Chris has always put forth a special effort to say PCB Way in his own unique way - and the effect has been that to many of us: it has become industry standard. It seems that he really does appreciate PCB Way. He has made it the go-to place for MANY boards I've needed, many commodore 64 mod related projects are all done-up and waiting for me to pick = no work for me! Excellent partnership, PCB Way and Chris!
It feels so good to meet you, ladyfractic and junifractic at your Lab there, Chris 😊🍾!
Thank you for travelling so far in the TARDIS to visit Chris Lab! We really had a blast (as did you in the arcade game!) 🙏
Amazing and honorable that you two flew all the thousands miles to visit one of the greatest retro and nostalgia channel in the world! Also very generous that you support all the various retro channels and keeping them motivated and alive! And thank you that you helped solving some mysteries about the lab..i always wanted to know whats next the computer in the upper left corner of the 2 shelf...:)
It was so wonderful to meet you on the channel! I just subscribed to YOUR channel, too. Cheerio!
Very fun video! 😊
@@RetroRecipes Cheerio 🥂🥂
Absolutely priceless seeing Elaine’s face playing on Star Wars in the cockpit, shows what a classic game it is as she did not stop smiling.
Thank you 🫶
Well that episode was definitely worth Five Dotters... Excellent to see PCB Way visit your lab... I think Elaine almost gave out the secret what PCB stands for... we may never know... What a culture shock it must have been for them, not just the popular culture references, but the generational one as well... I'll bet most ppl today don't know half of that stuff you've got... Oh!!! I know!!! Maybe PCB stands for "Perifractic's Collectable Belongings"... doesn't it?
Haha perfect!
Well done everybody, genuine hospitality between such different cultures is heart-warming and should happen much more, thanks for giving us some one-world vibes Peri and Elaine (and Simon of course). 😊👍🌏
Cheers Tim! This was a lovely experience and we didn't expect anything less. Never forget Simon of course!
🎉
OMG I love this! So beautiful seeing a Brit in America extending such hospitality to some guests from China. The world would be such a better place if we had MORE of this in the world! Thank you to the Fractics for sharing your homes with these folks, and then sharing this video with all of us. Your videos always make me smile. 😊
Hope your friends from PCBWay enjoyed their visit to the Retro Recipes HQ! ❤️😊
Elaine was the first person who reached out to me from PCBWay. I talked to her for a few years, so it was really fun to see her in real life. She has since moved up in the company and no longer has to deal with the likes of me :)
Heyy Dan! Hope all is good you there! You have been a good partner to me& PCBWay. It’s definitely my bad that I should spare some time to catch up with you sometimes 😊
That was a great studio tour. It felt like I was there as you explored the room. Although I was briefly shocked by the miraculous appearance of Ladyfractic out of nowhere before realising that she had been the one operating the camera.
The augmented reality labels were a lovely touch and made it feel like an augmented reality video game.
This whole show was truly entertaining and informative.
A great job by Perifractic, Ladyfractic, Junifractic and your Personable Chinese Buddies that are keepers of the Waaaaay!
How sweet was that.. so lovely people, I could not stop smiling and Elaines positive personality really came across very nicely .. great episode, and of course I will subscribe. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Thank YOU 😊😊
PCBway is responsible for supporting half of the retro/DIY-tech CZcams channels I follow (including my own :). And for that alone, they deserve big kudos!!
(The fact that I use their awesome services regularly is just the icing on the cake)
Thx soo much for your support ❤
04:35 - We used the BBC computer in school in Luxemburg. It was in 1988, but the school had them already for several years, they were connected to an 5 1/4 inch Floppy drive, but also an 8 inch floppy drive ! But the 8 inch was not used anymore, so I never had an 8 inch floppy disk in my hands back then. We programmed in Logo (the famous turtle cursor).
Lovely folks - the polite bemusement was great 😄
Public Call Box / Police Call Box
...now anybody tell me how to abbreviate THAT?!
:-)
Sure, it's CTR.
Because as we all know CTR stands for Cop Telephone Room.
I think congratulations are in order!
My wife is from China and she knows nothing about 80s culture in the West, it's really bizarre 🤣 She doesn't understand my obsession with old computers and consoles.
Bless. I love PCB Way for their support of this splendid channel.
🙌🙌🙌🙌
I'd still love to have a version of that X-wing arcade cockpit for my vintage flight/space combat games
he's really shy about it but i hope he told you guys he was in star wars you know👍🤣🤣🤣
Great show! Nice to see the studio in proper 360 degree glory. Thanks for asking my question! Let’s go to Paris!
It was a good question. Glad you enjoyed seeing the 360!
Never thought I'd hear the TARDIS departure over the Knight Rider theme!
You can think of PCBWay what you will, but the fact they flew-- sorry, I mean they teleported themselves from the other side of the world to visit content creators they sponsor when you'd expect it to be the other way round (i.e. content creators visiting their sponsors to get some cool "behind the scenes" footage for their channel) is (PCB)Wayyyyy cool!
Yeah we owe them a LOT and they were such truly nice and sweet people!
What a charming video. Thanks for making it! Must have been fun for them to visit!!!
Ahha we did have a tons of fun there 😊😊
I can only sit here and have a huge smile on my face guys. Well done. I love that they visited you! Hmm, maybe I should make that one of my bucket list items... eventually you all will turn that house into a museum of nostalgia!
Chris, you've shined a light on my dummy far-east preconceptions.. this has made my day, discovery is such a wonderful thing, showcased so brilliantly (as ever)
Thank you for sharing that and for your open-mindedness
At my old job we worked with a lot of Chinese sub contractors. They were great to work with and I still get Christmas cards from the one guy I worked with. Too many people judge the people by the government, I hope other countries don't judge me based off the US government
Good point @@96benty !
@@96bentyI judge them on the treatment of animals. Like the eating of dogs and cats which is still rampant.
@@saganandroid4175 Ask an Indian person how they feel about us eating cows, there are people here who treat animals cruelly but the points the same. Condemning an entire country because of how some act isn’t right
That was genuinely one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. Well done to Elaine for being a good sport!! 👏

This made me smile so much! Excellent work everybody!

Enjoy
That Star Wars video game was my favorite arcade game in the 80s. Probably the only one I might buy if I were into buying that kind of thing.
Yep. The same. If I could have only one, that would be it.
It's been a while since one of your videos popped up congratulations on the upcoming Babyfractic.
Thanks so much! Feel free to always look out most Saturdays when we post 😀
This is the most wholesome content on all of the internet
Wow, I think every sponsor should do this
Great episode, Perifractic! Loved every second of it! Great sense of humor on both sides and thank you for showing the commodore plus/4, as we all know, the greatest 8-bit computer of all times (*cough*). At least for me! The friends from PCW-WaaaAAAyyyy seem to be very nice people!
It's definitely one of the best!!
Completely free, worth a try 😂. Looks like they enjoyed the tour of Fractic Manor.
I wouldn’t have the knowledge or bravery to go onto a Chinese CZcams equivalent. Incredible that PCBWay could send representatives to MuseumFractic to view items made with their products.
Most wholesome video ever. The east meets west and share in cultural differences
There's too much hate in this world...
Positive Channel Bonanza
It really was!
Very nice to see PCB Way visiting your studio in person :) Interesting tour too.
Indeed it's funny problem, how to explain all this retro stuff to, for example young people, who weren't there at the time :)
What a great open minded episode. And what lovely people. Thank you!
Very positive ! : )
The world needs more of that
They were so in culture shock! I hope you guys got to take them out and show them around town.
Without any context about this video before watching I thought it was Ashleyfractic. We need a “where are they now” video update on Ashley. :)

Very cool. It's great to see the people behind the company name.
🙌🙌🙌
Finally, your the best video 😊
I really enjoy every second ...
Ivan from Croatia (owner: zx48K, C64G, Atar800XL and Victor86P - gen. '67 😂) Love your chanell ... keep going ... greetings from my retro chair ... 😊
Wow glad you enjoyed it!!
Wonderful quirky stuff 😄
A fantastic show and really nice to see your visitors from China .I wish our Governments could be a little more friendly to one another just like you and Ladyfractic have been to Elaine & Simon .
Thank you for sharing with us the your Chinese visitors and a insight into PCB way. Cheers
🙌
What a fun video. Love the PCB Way folks.
Finally a full PCBwaaaaaaaaaaay episode. Awesome.
😊
I like her energy
Thank you 😊
We were so impressed with both of them; great energy!
Very cool episode
FUN STUDIO TOUR you should make it more often and engage the comunity with fun data
Lol I don’t think she has had a clue what was going on, but she is extremely friendly and came across so well
This was the cutest entry ever. Love the channel and PCBway. Simon and Elaine are great, did they already know you were in Star Wars?
Well, that was fun. Always good to see positive people.
That was way more entertaining than I thought possible, being a sponsored video and all that! Perifratic's Chinese Banter?
That works. And we also work hard to make sponsored content _enjoyable content_ too. No reason it can't be. 😀
great episode with PCB-Waaaaaaaay! 🥰
I am the "Arctic retro" channel on YT. They are sponsoring me too. I must say they are great people. So friendly and helpful. I had most to do with Zoey. She is so nice and friendly. Love them all!
Heyy tommy massive thx for ur support ❤
Thx. It was so nice to see you live :) @@RealElaineee
These small retro channels like the Fractic's and Tommy at Artic Retro REALLY make vintage computers and electronics for SO many of us. Thank you PCBWay for supporting these guys and allowing them to share their great content with us. Elaine has some big CZcams shoes to fill to keep up with these guys and I look forward to her channel. Subscriber #78 :)
@@mgas1237 Agree 100%. RR content never fails to lift my spirits.
Zoey is great!
Well as I watched this the day it came out and I forgot to post a comment sowwie. Love this and they seemed genuinely happy to be in the studio I also liked how they didn’t know about the retro tech the pcb’s are being used on. The baby was sure kicking an hey not to long no, also loved how you tried to get free stuff now an then. Well hope you had a great weekend and the week is just as good. Until the next one you guys take care and keep up the amazing work 🙂
We forgive you!!
@@RetroRecipes Thank you 😁
Another fun video! It's nice having faces attached to PCBWay now.
You have SO much awesome stuff! I love it! What really struck me hardest is the beautiful Roger Dean Terrorpods art. I saw an entire book of his War oof the Worlds in a bookstore when i was a kid and was blown away. I've been keeping an eye out for a copy for decades.
Yeah, I've been trying to buy the original but can never get a straight answer or follow up from his gallery
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Good fun that 😊
Elaine and Perifractic! Legends ! :) Good to see you both together! and of corse @pcbway !
Thx so much ❤❤
awesome and always good to watch :)
thank you🥳
I didn’t hear what I thought I heard at 6.22??😂
That would be a very different show…😏
Great episode and nice to see so much enthusiasm for these retro classics!🙌
You need the arm movements when pronouncing PCBWay. It should be a rule in the office
... a great video, Thank you from Germany!
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹
"Perifractic's Chinese Buddies" is some excellent thinking on your feet!
You've got a Psion 7! I have one. Beautiful piece of machinery..
Kind thanks there to @crisblyth :-D
delightfully quaint episode. This is like Blue Peter combined with a touch of Saturday Superstore and a splash of Swap Shop and just a hint of Monty Python.
You may have no idea what a wonderful compliment that is! Actually you prolly do....
The BBC's education program was active in Wales and Scotland too.
Apologies for using England - I simply use that as it's where I'm from. I was not excluding other markets.
I loved this!
Always awesome when you can share culture and tech! PCBWay!
Here comes PCBWayyyyyyyy
Hi PCBWay, good to meet you
Heyyyy glad to meet you tooo 😊
PCBWayfractic time!
Perfect 👍
I love this! They have their own culture completely away from ours. Not knowing the Atari 2600 I love it! Lovely people and a very funny episode.
I did not expect a Simpson analog VOM. Now that's retro. ★★★★★
A very kind donation to the channel!
A Simpson multi-meter?!?!? Man! Does that bring back the memories....
Haha 😂 fantastic vid 😂😊
7:00 The Mac Plus was released in 1986. Despite the ST and Amiga existing, silly people still bought it.
PCB Waaaaaaaaaaaay
A big hello from PCBWayyyyyyyyyyyy
I was hoping some of the questions related to things like "whats considered a popular retro thing in China" or what they themselves are nostalgic about, what is a favorite thing from their childhood, etc.
Ahh if we'd had more time... But great ones for next time. And of course if you were a supporter you'd have been able to pose those questions ;-) ;-)
Yes cheaper overseas delivery of PCBs to the UK would be amazing. We like our Purple PCB boards hard to get anywhere else.
Good to know
Welp, that was a 28:32 long smile I was not expecting. Excellent watch. 🤛
Fantastic!!
@@RetroRecipesFractastic more like!😆😊
You two should have more guests! Good episode! :)
Thanks!
This a damn cool, vid I proper geeked out. I was born 71 and we had a BBC model B at my school. My first ever computer was the ZX81 came with a dodgy 16k Ram pack. Got a Spectrum, swapped It for a C64 which was life changing. Now I've been a PC gamer since about 99 (not a cheap hobby!)
Just thought...I would love a Firefox F7!
"Vacuumimg ghosts", "rubber ducks for the bath tub with a black car looking li ke 'David Hassel'.." - she probably understood most of it. But it didn't make any sense. So she blamed it on the translation... 🤣🤣
To be fair it doesn't make any sense
Already subscribed to Elaine's channel.
Thank you soo much 😊😊
Just fun and happiness
I see you've gone all Mentour Pilot with the cushions - green one side, red the other to represent the wing lights on planes
Erm... yes. Yes yes. That's why we did. Totally!
Where can I get one of thems "PC Computers" from? xD
Lovely episode made :)
Cheers maid! ;-)
"That's why my dad didn't answer me" lol
That sure was a fun visit, must be honorable on both sides. So all that retro stuff we grow up with, they never heard of.. hows that possible😂 everybody knows Bob Ross right? Great episode, yeah, PCBway ftw! (Good Luck with the new contract negotiations lol😅)
Haha all done and dusted now... enjoy PCBWayyyyy for years to come!
Oh no! Now they have all the secrets of our advanced technology from 40 years ago 🤣. Jokes aside this was heart warming to watch on so many levels. I love it!
Hahahaha!
Great fun. I do wonder if Elaine really got all the jokes about getting everything for free...
I think she did but hope she didn't... Remains to be seen if we get a million doyers per episode now too!
@@RetroRecipes for a few doyers more...
Seeing all these things.. brings me back.. I saw that you have the C64.. I have the C V20.. before the C64 was made or even sold.. Still have it in boxes. Do you think it would be worth anything?.. Thank you and looking forward to your reply..
Also i used to love the Knight Rider, have the pictures with the Kit at an auto show... and i had a transAm as well for my 16th birthday.. Black and Gold..
19:15 That cheeky smile.
Five welcome BONUS! ;-)
@@RetroRecipesAre you implying someone might have specifically turned on captions around the 19:15 mark to get a good laugh at what they believed CZcams's speech recognition algorithm for the auto-generated captions might have understood just to find out this video has no auto-generated captions?
@@RetroRecipes Sorry, I'm just a scruffy old nerf-herder and my mind is always in Bantha pudu.
Great video. Not that the RR studio isn't a landmark, but were they able to check out any cool spots in California while they were in town?
Nice work! PCBWayyyyyyyy....
They need to find a way to ship things to Europe without paying + 1000% on import fees. So strange that we are living on 1 earth but we are not one earth.
3:48 We heard it, but we didn't understand it. I can barely understand some New Yorkers and southerners, and I was born in the US! Odds of me getting through a Chinese accent is about 50/50. Going to turn on CC to see if that helps. Update! It worked! Awesome!!!
Yeah we thought that'd be helpful
@@RetroRecipes thank you for that. I have a terrible time with accents.
More buttsplice!
Great video, really enjoyed it. It would be interesting if there was a Perifractic of Japan to do something similar showing Japanese culture! We all obviously have very different references but good that you kept the references to the BBC!
We do hope to travel to the Far East one day for some recipodes
I never knew puppyfractic's name is Juni.
