Christine's impression of "DAME EDNA" is simply unbelievably" INSANE"....it is absolutely "sport on!"...and, I don't know why she no longer includes it in her act!..and, some of the younger audiences don't know who "Ethel Merman" is!.
Spot on. Love the way she has the physical as well as the vocal mannerisms of these stars down perfectly. The only case in which I thought there was some room for improvement (in gestures and posture more than in voice) is Angela Lansbury. Admittedly, she's harder to capture than most of the others. And if she's going to do Bette Davis, why not Joan Crawford? Seems only fair.
Her Paula Dean and Bette Davis and Carol Channing were funny and her Georgia Engel impersonation was uncanny but she couldn't quite pull off Judge Judy (sounded more like Joan Rivers) or Bernadette Peters.
It is "new" from the perspective that that sort of outbursts were confined to the end during applause...not interjected constantly during the performance.
