One of our first videos was about a folding electric bike Engwe EP2 Pro.
Since the video turned out surprisingly popular and I also liked the bike, I decided to buy another bike from them.
Their latest model is Engwe C20 Pro.
I just received the package from the courier and I am very excited to see what’s inside.
Let’s open the pack together and see how much assembling the bike needs.
    So what's in the box?
    A halfway assembled bike
    Front wheel
    Seatpost and saddle
    Handlebar stem
    Charger
A toolkit that has different wrenches, hex keys, and a screwdriver
Manual for display and the bike itself
I suggest reading the assembly guide. It’s quite thorough but it has some shortcomings. But no worries. With the help of this video, you can easily assemble the bike.
First of all, let’s remove all those cushions on the bike. Be careful when cutting those straps. You don’t want to damage any cables.
Then, let’s attach the seat post. You can do it in the last step as well. It doesn’t really matter.
Now, let’s attach the handlebar. For me, it took some time to figure out how it should be done.
Firstly, just attach the upper part of the handlebar to the lower part.
Secondly, you have to unfold the handlebar from the quick release. Then you can see there is a hexagon screw that has to be tightened after you attach the handlebar stem to the bike.
Make sure the fork is pointing forward and orient the handlebar accordingly.
Then you can install the front light.
Now let’s install the front wheel.
For that, you need to remove the transportation bolt from the fork.
Then I would suggest you turn the bike upside down. But be careful to not damage the display.
Next, just attach the wheel in the correct position. Make sure the brake disc goes in between the brake pads.
After that, take the quick-release skewer. It has a lever, 2 springs, and a nut.
Remove the nut and one spring and insert the skewer from the disc’s side.
Then from the other side, attach the spring followed by the nut.
Then tighten the nut until the lever becomes firm to close.
Alright, the bike is almost assembled. But not quite yet. There are still a couple of steps to go.
As you can see, unboxing a bike causes a lot of garbage. It would be a good idea to clean it up for a while. Otherwise, there will be a big mess at the end.
You can also remove the battery and plug it into the wall for charging.
Let’s not forget to install the pedals.
Make sure to install each pedal to the correct side. Both pedals are marked, so you know which one goes right and which one goes left.
The right pedal or drive-side pedal must be threaded clockwise. Start the threading with your hand and then tighten with a wrench.
Repeat this on the left side but the threading must be done counterclockwise.
Good job! Basically, the bike is now assembled. As I promised, it was not difficult at all!
You just have to wait until the battery is charged.
Meanwhile, you can check all the tightening points. Also, adjust braking pads accordingly. Make sure the wheels are running freely and there is enough stopping power.
Also, the derailleur may need some adjusting.
When I was testing the bike for the first time, I discovered that some gears were off. It may happen during transportation.
I took the bike to the local service and they fixed it with ease. They also checked other moving parts.
I suggest you do the same. It doesn’t cost you a lot and you can rest assured that everything is adjusted accordingly.
Alright, that’s how you unbox and assemble an electric folding bike Engwe C20 Pro.
I hope you liked the video and it could help someone assemble their bike.

Thanks, you made assembling the bike a lot easier for me! The instructions are incomplete, to say the least

Thanks! We were stuck with the quick release on the forks - we didn't realise it folded open to reveal the fastening bolt!

Hi, i ordered a c20 pro and i think they made a mistake with the frame, i'm searching for the frame code do you know what it is ? it's located on the front above the forks and just above the engwe logo.

I'm looking at getting the 250w engine x as I'm looking for a folding bike with some decent torque. I weigh 100+kg so good assistance is essential. The l20 looks better but doesn't fold and the l20 SE does but only has 38nm of torque. I like the whole range to be honest but these ridiculous electric bike regulations we have at the moment limits my choice. Nice video btw.

Hi there, thanks for the video and also the review. Do you have a recommondation as to which fender would fit the bike? Thanks.

    • @ElectricWheelers
      @ElectricWheelers  Před 2 lety

There is a mount for fenders just below the seat post. Standard fenders meant for 20-inch wheels should fit well.

Just got the same bike..if you could be kind to try to solve my problem with front wheel that cannot run freely because of the too tight position of brake pads (Pistons,).The problem is that it cannot be reajusted because when I tried to do it with a key (imbus) i have noticed that they are already on maximum distance which I cannot further more separate. Also they cannot be fixed by taking the pads pin out and reajusting Like It can in normal bikes, because It doesnt do a thing (cant distance them more in any way) It really looks Like its fabrical error or is it just a too thick brake pad so maybe just to keep it Like that till pads were off ??.not sure if it would be wise at all since it is a brand New bike...what to do? What would you do? Thanx.

      @ElectricWheelers  Před 2 lety +3

I think the smartest thing to do would be to find some local bike shop or service where they could look at it. They would tell right away if it's some fabrical fault or did something went off during transportation.
I hope you could solve it easily!

I would use a chain lock or folding lock with the proper length.

If you have tried for hours, then just cut the box carefully around the bike. Eventually, there will be no box to get it out.

I don't know what the bikes are like but I watch these adds for a 799dollar bike showing a much more expensive bike and you are led to believe that this is the bike you are buying only to find out thst the money is for a completely different bike.. This is not at all clever. In fact a lot of people will judge the bikes and the company by that sly move.
I wish you luck and I hope the bikes are worth the money.
