    Thank you for your very honest review. Its refreshing to to see a reviewer that keeps it real and doesn't try to just tell you stuff that the manufacturer has paid them to day. Respect to you my friend, keep up the good work. One thing I've noticed about the bike is where you have to insert the key, can be quite troublesome and very fidley, I think the key hole should've been on the side of the frame or the top.

      Thank you. I pretty tell the companies send it but you’ll get a honest review and if you dont want that then dont send it. If the item is horrible it doesn’t make it on the channel at all. If the item has a noticeable problem Ill let the company try and fix it first and send a new updated one or discuss further. I like to give companies a chance as everyone starts some where. But some items I have had to say now after they ship as they dont perform at all. Then they are like well dont mention that part….lol Im like nope…if you want the item send a return label or it will be in the garbage or the street 😂

    Good review. I have the same model and always carry a bungee cord. This helps when folding the bike for the boot of my car, bungee the front and back wheel and it wont split apart when loading. Makes life so much easier. Also, I carry my bike lock key on the same fob as the "ignition" key. It means I wont leave the key in the bike when I park up at the shops etc.

  • @vwbusje
    @vwbusje Před 8 měsíci +5

    I've oned this same bike now for 4 months , there is one more thing to mention, the build quality. In my opinion the bike is as strong as the weakest part. And that part is the folding riser of your steer. Mine just snaped very easely because the bike toppled down. The folding joint is just welded aluminum and not steel. That's one , and 2 ; its very hard to get spare parts, I live in The Netherlands/Europa, Engwe's EU site is full of new bikes and assesoires , but no spare parts. So I had to order this in China thrue their service desk with 5 email's and pictures and so on. I did get my spare parts after 3 weeks. Keep that in mind ...

    Great video, honest review, and I agree with almost everything you said. I purchased this model in July of 22 and have over 1400 miles on this bike. Now I have made several upgrades: seat, handlebars(I don't trust the welds on the stock folding handlebars, pedals(the folding pedals were too small) and especially the brakes(went to hydraulic) Still original tires(almost time for new ones though) and tubes. Zero issues with the battery and the motor. You can go into the system and "unlock" speed limiter. On a full charge on flat ground I top out at 33mph. Normal cruising in pedal assist I easily get over 60miles on a full charge. Throttle only, and really doggin it, less than 20. Maybe I got lucky, but I have had no issues with the bike. For the money I think it is a fabulous deal, just be ready to make some much needed upgrades. Again, great video man, subbed.

      @johnnysweekends  Před rokem +1

      I have been going into settings today and did go to u lock settings and speed is set to 60km and full amp at 25…
      And boasted battery voltage to 60 for full charge and 55 one notch down and now top speed of about 24 mph so better than 22… I’ll see what it does when I’m back to full charge I’m at 30% now
      Oh and thanks for the kind words appreciate the feed back.
      And over all not a bad cruiser bike. Not a 100% my style but I have asked others around and they think it’s pretty cool so..👍🏼

    • @gregbullington891
      @gregbullington891 Před rokem +1

      @@johnnysweekends No, what I unlocked was like a driving mode. It's set from the factory to have a speed limiter of 20mph because that is the law most places. I actually tried to turn up the voltage also, I turned it all the way up to 60 like you did and same thing, would barely get over 20mph. My theory is that the battery control module can't handle that amount of discharge, but that's just my theory. I put all the voltages back to their default setting and it was back to 30mph+. It has been months since I've messed with any of the settings. I'll dig out the manual and let you know exactly what I did.
      P.S. I weigh about 160lbs

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před rokem +1

      Ok I’m about 195 and yea I think I did I did the voltage thing and I played with the Km from 20-40-60 and only the voltage did anything. I’m going back to default and try again but I changed speed limit and all and the voltage was the only thing that brought speed up to 23. I can’t go any faster or my feet will fly off the pedals.
      It really needs one more gear bad!

I can see that it’s something to do with the nub ( small metal spring loaded thingy ). I can clearly see that it’s adjustable due to it being able to be screwed on. Before making the decision to purchase an Engwe e-bike, I feel it's important to share my personal experience with the company and their product. I bought my Engwe e-bike in March 2023, and within a short span of time, I ran into technical issues with the bike.
    When I reached out to Engwe's customer service for assistance, the response time was far from satisfactory. Although I understand that troubleshooting can be a complex process, their response took a full 24 hours each time. Moreover, I was asked to conduct a series of tests on my own, which included using a multimeter to check the battery and the charger, and then recording a video of the process to send to them.
    After complying with their requirements, I had to wait another two days for their next response. The entire process has been quite frustrating and time-consuming, and it is still ongoing.
    Based on my experience, I have concerns about the efficiency of Engwe's customer support, as well as the reliability of their e-bikes. As a consumer, I believe we deserve products that function as promised and customer service that is prompt and effective. Unfortunately, in my experience, Engwe has fallen short in these aspects.
    While this is just my personal experience, and others may have had different ones, I feel it's essential to share it for the sake of potential customers. I advise thoroughly researching and considering other options before deciding to purchase an Engwe e-bike."
    UPDATE. the bike was finally fixed. They sent me a new controller and Display. The fault was with the display. I have heated that the Regen can take out the display so have it turned off.
    The process took 5 weeks
    Engwe asked me to close the dispute or they would not help me. I said fine then I will escalate it in PayPal. They then agreed to send me the parts.
    So I have a spare Battery and Spare controller out of the experience. To be fair if they had taken the bike back for a refund then I would have immediately purchased the same bike again. It’s a great bike for the money. Just been unlucky.

      So far I don’t ride this bike much my wife does, but it is from the cruise around I like more aggressive style bikes, but that being said, I’m not much for the display and the settings that you have to go into in order to unlock features. I think that’s kind of absurd when you could just have an easy button to unlock the higher speeds. I don’t like the buttons as much on the left by the handle bar, which I do like the ones they have on the newer models as far as the motor so far, it seems to be performing well, but others have experienced some problems with it. You could always consider buying a warranty through Amazon that way if Something Happens you can return it or at least get your money back.

      This is nothing new for any company to fudge numbers.
      A car manufacturer will get there mpg rating at 60mph on flat ground with one person in the car under ideal conditions.
      The bike can handle much more weight but that’s how they get there numbers
      Been like that for years

    I hate this bike, it is positively dangerous. I rode it maybe 20x for 5 km trips half dirt track, half tarmac on sloping roads.
    So far: brake problems, front fender/ light came off, chain came off (on steep slope downhill resulting in bloody injuries), the power handle either gets stuck in "on" or does not respond. As a small person, I tend to grab the steer inward, often accidentally activating the power handle. When mouting the bike , I *just* get over the bar. But when facing uphill, my boob presses the minus button and I loose all traction. Walk up that hill, girl! .This is also not a bicycle. The distance between sadle and pedal makes uncomfortable cramped knees when trying to pedal. It is very heavy without power support. The pedal action is no more than an excuse. It is very hard to tune the brakes to be in between "stuck" and "not much use". They are very loud and unsettling going downhill.
    With the brakes, the chain and the fender I have escaped multiple grave accidents and sustained injury on my calfs.(calves?).
    I locked the thing up and nobody is getting the keys unless I bid them evil. I am going to buy a decent bike after a TEST DRIVE.
    This thing cannot be CE marked (and isnt).
    Cheap bike. Saves money for healthcare you will need.

    this is not a bike this this one more big mistake .. Shame on the company that sells it ...sells a bicycle for 1500 euros and they have put a bell that has 0.90 cents, as well as the axis where the pedal is, it is very high from the ground, with the consequence that when you pedal, your foot should reach the handlebars and when it goes down, you should not straighten the leg , the brakes are not hydraulic, the key is from the bottom and you still have to bend down, they haven't put floor mats for the back passenger either... suspension in the middle does not only have bottles
    IF YOU BUY IT, YOU WILL REGRET IT, especially the PR model, only the last model is good ,I didn't know that I had to have at least 1 and 90 height .... my mother made me short 1.75
    and they dont have torque sensor

    There are 10-15 of engwe bikes. And it's all broken. Brake system display, chains, footrest, motor, controller. Nothing remains intact. Service support is unbelievably bad. They cannot solve problems. The Chinese company sells bikes for cheap, but definitely don't buy it. Bicycles break down in the rain. I don't know what to do, I think I'm going to throw it all away.
