it depends on which clocks you are talking about. the older ones with the count wheel use a metal rod in the shape of a J. This allows the clock to not be pushed back easily. It can also be due to the way the hand shaft was placed within the clock during past repairs. On the modern day hermle movements, the hands are fitted on the shaft. some have a little nut that adjusts how the hands are placed on the shaft. That can also be shifted in some cases. There are probably plenty more that I forget about.
The movement hasnt been in it. The balance wheel is not working properly and I cant seem to get it to work again. I will eventually get a new movement for it so it can be running once again.

Why some clocks sound one or two minutes after the correct time? I've noticed it several times, apparently it's a very common thing to see.
