- Does physical damage, alright. Also does magic damage, alright. Also does holy damage...alright. Also half the talismans don't work on it but holy damage scaling does but just the ash of war but only if the curvature of the Earth i

that poor troll has a mushroom head coming to kill him after least six times a day
Just do 99 Str, 99 Faith, 99 Intel duh
Fr, this guy doesn’t know how to build lmao
Who the hell abbreviates intelligence as intel when you can just say INT lmao

This comment was made by someone who doesn't grind and earn their levels. They cheat by doing coop rune drops. What a lame ass 😂😂😂😂😂. There's no respect given to any fool who does a rune drop cheat. Probably maxed out all their stats and still can't get through Mohg 😂😂😂😂😂
It's not so hard scott, it's a kevin weapon. These people don't stop leveling so the fucked up stats don't matter
Time for "Let me Fingr you" build. This in the main-hand with ringed finger in the off-hand.
The Godfrey Icon and Shard of Alexander not increasing the damage is not related to the weapon itself. It's applies to ALL Holy damage sources but only in PVP, and it's a bug that's been in the game since release AFAIK. Anything that doesn't straight up increase damage in doesn't work. So Alexander Shard, Godfrey Icon, Goldmask mask, any seal buffs etc.- none of them work in PVP. But things like Holy Tear and mushroom crown do.
Wait fr? No wonder every time i hit someone (which happens once in a blue moon) with siluria’s woe im not one shotting them.
Holy damage taking Ls again 😢
wow never knew
I don't think that troll is PvP, could be wrong tho
But in this case he is using Godfrey Icon against a pve mob and getting nothing.
yeah im aware of that bug but this isn't a PVP scenario so im not sure why that would apply
To truly grasp the power of outer gods, you must reach 99 all stats.
No really, finger stuff scales with more than two stats, and frenzy stuff scales with up to four.
Shoulda been five stats
Because fingers
finally someone else gets it. Gotten so many weird glances for using this thing religiously. Fun fact; cannon of haima fully charged at max vdex will consistently catch people who panic roll out of AoW’s launch, should they survive
The heavy attack is actually different from the alt heavy from other great clubs. It's a alt of a alt.
"Me at max level"
Interesting now i know how to build for a weapon i dont have yet
I think the *best* way to build this weapons is to use a better weapon.
Honestly not everyone wants to just slap bloodflame blade on claws and call it a day
But its a finger though
that got nerfed 😁 (the claw true combo) @@RofoTheGyrm
@@RofoTheGyrm 💯
Its a tough job but someones gotta do it. Those Co-op people aren't going to invade and finger themselves.
Oh, cool, waves of piss but melee and an actual oneshot
Try finger, but hole
Try hole but finger. =\
If only I had a giant..
but hole…
4:52 that exile guard really thought he got the drop on you
kid named finger:
I had that as my name when I was maining this weapon for pvp and it was SHREDDING in a 78 int build with like terrible investment into the actually important stats, its a really fun weapon with a really fun moveset.
FromSoft trying to make good int/faith weapons in Elden Ring is physically painful.
The problem is they always require a whole bunch of str/dex as well. Just spread people way too thin unless they're like level 300.
it's really sad tbh, I was also hoping for a new whetstone and/or more int/faith weapons. we get the finger literally
@@burn1none new staff is kino tho
@@KyokujiFGC
A game that that got its stats for weapons right is Lords of the Fallen. Say what you want about it, but at least they realized it's stupid to have you spread points like this. Now all they need is for Str to increase equip load as well, and I'll be at peace.
@@KyokujiFGC Sadly I think from views int faith as purely a pve, high level thing to play. Just like they consider frenzy a pvp exclusive status effect. I think both of these are dumb decisions lol. The one pvp exclusive status effect they have, is the status effect people hate the most in pvp. Frenzy is my favorite status effect and I can't even use it without griefing people in pvp, int faith is fun to play but I have to ruin a 150 character to get the stats to make it worth doing
Hey Scott, I don't think anyone in your streamchat ever told you before, but there is also a new Armor set called the Rakshasa Armor that also boosts damage universally by 2% per piece - you could put on 3 pieces of it with the Mushroom Crown to buff your damage even more! :)
I always run 2 pieces, it's just free damage without sacrificing anything.
Do only some pieces of the set make take more DMG as well? Pretty sure at least some say that in the description, just like her katana
@elGonho the armor description is a little misleading, you won't take more damage with the armor on than you would if you were baked, it just has worse defenses than other armor pieces of it's weight class
@@elGonho They don't make you take more damage, the set simply has lower absorption values than other armor of its weight.
@@user-uf7qf7mv6kno, It really applies a debuff
So basically, 54 Strength, 20 Intelligence, 60 Vigor, as much Endurance as you need for your Armor, any offhand weapon you might wish to use, and your Talismans. Since you need to invest a few points into Faith anyway, you may as well go for either 15 to get Flame Grant Me Strength (cheaper than Exalted Flesh, with a small stamina regeneration bonus) and some health regeneration in the form of Bestial Vitality, or splurge to 25 to additionally get Golden Vow and a more pungent source of health regeneration in the form of Blessing's Boon. Note: Shard of Alexander only works for the weapon portion of the Ash of War, not the wave, and Godfrey Icon doesn't work at all. The best Physick setup is probably to just go with Opaline Hardtear for universal negation and the Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear for boosting the wave on the Ash of War (which is the most damaging part of the most damaging attack of the weapon.) If you doing PvP, you could swap this for the Crimson Bubbletear and leave everything else the same, at least for an Invasion build which is where this weapon would shine the most, having massive AoE attacks helps in a 3v1 fight.
A rare "Job Interview Scott" has appeared!
my one hope for the DLC was for the game to get new whetstones for faith/int scaling, madness, sleep, and or/rot
From Software gives us the finger.....
It's for faith and int hybrid builds. The Staff From Beyond (the other weapon you get from The Mother of Fingers) also lets you cast sorceries and incantations.
This is a great weapon for invading outside of the rykard boss site of grace
Try the axe talisman, it might be coded so that the aoe is an actual physical atk in that case the axe talisman would increase the damage
tried, no dice
@@ScottJund well thanks fromsoft :D
bro idc if its supposed to have a theme where it looks weird and otherworldly, there are other ways to execute that without making the weapon needlessly complicated to build around
I love using this thing in invasions. It's so goofy
To poison yourself i would like to add that the new poison perfume bottle AoW can be used to poison yourself too (dunno if is a bug or not tho)
Going 50 faith for this weapon is absolutely ludicrous. It has E scaling in faith. The ash of war damage is affected mainly by strength due to its higher scaling. Just because it’s a holy damage ash of war doesn’t mean you pump faith. Always consider scaling
Princess Lavengra
I build it like a bonk with some bonus scaling and then mostly smack things with it (strength build mainly with a little bit of INT didn't even realize the ash of war scaled with faith)
ALSO it's relatively light for basically being an INT scaling great club so you don't have to invest as many points in endurance as with most other colossal weapons!
I read this as "Glazing Finger"..
🤡
That R2 is why I love it so much.
Why are these dlc weapons so weird.
Arcane/faith/str weapon that has split magic damage and the aow does holy.
Arcane str weapon that does physical but aow does lightning damage.
Faith/int weapons that cause madness.
Bunch of other weapons that have random faith or intelligence requirements and scalings
waltuh
Has anyone tried the incantation or sorcery boosting talismans with it? Realistically, shard of alexander not affecting the shockwave is probably a bug, but maybe it counts as a spell for some reason? It wouldn't hurt to test, I think.
nope, doesnt work
This things weapon art should scale of int. It should literally be a str int weapon for the absolute crap ton of int you need for it
Hey Scott I know it is unrelated to the video topic, but what is your opinion on the nail spells? Why are they bad? Short range and delayed hit? Are they useable in PvP?
I am using this thing as a caster with Carian Slicer and Piercer. Not too shabby.
I was using the Shard of Alexander the whole time I was using this... thank you for testing things that I'm too lazy to!
It’s funny that the boss with the most broken scuffed AI also has a scuffed weapon
What about an int/faith equally distributed build with the minimum in str just for using the AoW? 🤔🤔
Interesting, though doesn't howl/poison proc/sword of light/sacred scorpion combo let other better, easier to use weapons to still one shot? Damage comparison with wave of gold and other overbuffed holy stuff would've been nice.
yeah the base damage is nothing crazy, its mostly the absolutely massive AOE that is significantly better than most alternatives. like seriously it is one of the biggest AOEs in the entire game
Seeing everyone stumble over the pronunciation for kowtow gives me a chuckle, (its cow- tau)
I bet it’s not a bug, like you said, it already one shots, they aren’t dumb, they are trying to negate that from being easy without doing all the buffs you are
Didn’t they “fix” this weapon by adding faith scaling . . . And it turned out to be E? 💀
Maybe decent in PvP with something like a dagger offhand? Could see the weapon art blowing up aggressive gankers
More like glazing finger.
With the many bugs in this game we will end up like the "shield poke situation, using right hand weapon block while attacking behind shield" in DS3.
Just too many big bugs on the system side and noone ever talks about them. Like that one guy on replies mentioning holy ashes of war and spells dont get buffed by godfrey icon, alex shard and all the seals that buff them only in pvp.
Flesh dumpling to poison is solid too
Lol, you need 20 int to be able to figure out what to do with the weapon. XD
Did he mention the two handing talisman :)
My favorite dlc weapon
Glazing finger but hole
Is the damage higher then the sacred relic sword? The two seem oddly similar
But the faith influence is very little in the ash of war
wouldn't howl and sword of light cancel each other out as body buffs?
yes youd do one or the other, which is why i said use sword of light if you dont want the debuff from howl
@@ScottJund Oh sorry I missed it. so GoVow + furry Howl + Ccoksucking tear + scared anal bead + poison brainrot.
you could also swap dumpling head tali and seppuku white helm and tali for a 200k damage attack or something I guess
With the dlc out will the meta level change? I feel like at least invasion level would increase cause people would level up more to go through it, but others would def know better
Awesome Vid!
Thank You very much for Your Work! Greetings from Germany
Just for the sake of science
The dmg you did with and without Shard of Alex were different. Both initial hits and AoW follow up did more dmg with Shard
Unless I'm confused as to which part is the AoW
The shockwave does the same damage. You just saw the added damage of the initial melee hit compounding with the shockwave. The initial hit does do slightly more with Shard of Alexander.
@@ScottJundthe second hit when flicking up would receive it as well right?
@@erniegang8127 oh yeah the flick is two hits that is true. the first doesnt guarantee the stun into the second though so its not guaranteed damage at all
When I played around with this weapon on my first playthrough I did notice that the light wave does not get boosted by Shard of Alexander. Do you know why? Is that a consistent behaviour for similar ashes of war? I thought it was a bug when I tested it
Did the incantation (canvas?) talismans not increase the Ashe of war damage?
Hey I’ve got a noob question, when people say “X scales poorly with X stat” what specifically are you looking at to determine that? I welcome anyone’s input
in most cases this is figured out by just testing different amount of stats but the data miners and modders have made build calcs and what not
@@greenpinapple820 okay so just pumping some levels into certain stats while on the “level up” screen and seeing which ones result in the largest increase in damage?
@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 You can generally work it out through the attribute scaling on the weapon display (an A or S would equate to good scaling as opposed to an E or D) but there are some weird exceptions where the physical damage scales off of one stat mainly, but the Ash Of War scales mainly off of the other, seemingly worse stat to level, such as in cases like the Death's Poker.
Genuine question: how much difference did you see betweeb 14 faith and the 52 faith you have on this build?
I did some testing right after the latest patch and i swear the difference between 14 and 80 faith added less than 200 damage to the shockwave itself.
Yeah its only like 3-4 points of damage per faith, nothing crazy, i just think its more useful than INT since you get similarly bad returns that dont affect the AoW
@@ScottJund alright then, thanks for confirming. I can see how with buff stacking those numbers could be worth it, I just wasn't sure if I'd messed something up or not during my tests.
Aren’t sword of light and howl of shabriri both body buffs? Doesn’t that mean the second will cancel the first?
To answer my own question, yes, Scott loses the shabriri’s woe debuff when using sword of light.
more like glazing finger am i right heheheh
Fort,
Night
scotty, dont wanna be rude, but you re very heavy on your build :D :)... anyway, have a nice day :D
3:52 Those only affect the DLC and you're not in the DLC. 🤔
You can tell that Scott is from the DBD community, because every video is saying something is broken, but the souls community can't care less about it and just thinks these things are fun. DBD mains in shambles when everything isn't weak.
Soul community couldn't care less only when they're not getting Swift Slashed or Perfume Rollbombed
(They actually do)
Ok bro this is too much. You fine tune your build for hours so you can do 6% more damage when up against a gank squad in farum azula. This is a game where you lose to a team of wizards or a sudden blender, or you win because the host panic rolls or falls of a cliff. You’re not building a rocket here. This is not serious
most stuff is borderline weak.
in base game its op.
miazaki needs to patch the whole game :'D xd
Yeah, it’s a shit weapon.
Stop acting like you don't know this game is a broken beta lmao of course NOTHING functions as intended. Yall bought half a game 2 years early and have been beta testing it. Miyazaki just sold yall the other half of his cut content and it's still Janked 🤡. Thought you had some pride enough to call that out.
Weapons can deal 1000 damage per hit and 4000 with the AoW, and these clowns will complain. Elden Ring is a complete game, I played it for more than 500 hours and it won GOTY, there's not much else to say.

Ugliest weapon I've ever seen.
Who does all this stuff? Who stacks so many buffs from a practical standpoint? Most have low uptime so you're refreshing more than you're playing. Pvp makes sense though since this is L2 one shot the game.
How many years into the franchise are we? How many games now and they can't get like any buffs and new weapons right? Do QA departments even exist? This is DLC, they had comparatively much less to do and they didn't check something as important as a weapon worked with basic talismans? Like, just play your game and you find this stuff. They are actively depending on the players to do the work for them. That's modern game dev in a nutshell though.
the uptime is throwing two fetid pots. it takes like one second. you'd eventually lose your body buff but you hardly have to re-apply that.
@@ScottJund I love you Scott, but that's the activation cost, not the uptime, and that one isn't a problem. The uptime after throwing the pots is only 20 seconds I think. But with how many get stacked, you're nearly out of one or two buffs by the time you apply the rest and actually fight. And given how bosses run around and attack with long chains, you kinda have to wait for them to give you an opening wasting more time on the buffs.
Pvp still makes sense of course since you want this stuff regardless and that's a, somewhat lucky (spawn location and player spotting etc.), manner of timing.
It's not a complaint about you of course (everything you said is still all correct) but the game's wonky design.
