Undertale is an RPG video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox in 2015.
The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magic barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface. Some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
This run by duuuuude5 ( tasvideos.org/... ), is a playaround starting from a hacked save file with the Punch Card item and a custom player name. The goal is to swap the True Pacifist and Genocide routes using a large assortment of glitches and one frame of a noclip mod to make it possible. The end result includes killing monsters during the True Pacifist route as well as freeing the underground during the Genocide route, the opposite of how the game normally plays out. Several other glitches and tricks are shown off along the way, many of which have never been seen before.

the fact that this TAS makes characters say things they aren't supposed to (namely menu related stuff, like "there's no response" or "the was thrown away") is way funnier to me than it probably should be

@@zorquil Have a look at the player name - it's a bunch of text instructions causing the font size, color, and effects to change. The sponsor message appears every time the player name would normally appear, because the sponsor message is the player's name.

@@zorquil I once found a video on minecraft for 94 hours, and there were tags for about 20 hours where the author was afk. I continued to mark them further, stopped for about 70 hours, then got tired of watching.

I’m gonna be honest, I got kinda tired of this one after a while.
Unlike something like the Mario World playarounds where the game was broken in increasingly unexpected ways. This one feels like a one trick pony in comparison.
While yes, it is impressive that arbitrary code execution is possible in this game at all. I think something shorter like a credits warp would have been a better showcase.

It's not arbitrary code execution, it's just a lot of glitches with the punch card. Other than exactly one frame of noclip, it's entirely vanilla gameplay that just requires a save file with the punch card.
