    ABOUT THIS VIDEO: With the old metal shed out of the way, we took on the task of assembling our new-fangled blown plastic shed that we bought from Menards! The Suncast Tremont 8x7 Storage Shed (BMS8700) was a breeze to put together (see link below to purchase) - at least, as far as shed building goes. With two of us, it went up in just hours and turned out to be a sturdy little building. Check out the video for tips and tricks we learned from the process, and some fun scenes from the build.

    You guys were great. I bought the smaller version of this shed and figured i could put it up myself.But after I got it home (guys at the store lifted it into one other guys truck- You were right-The box was Heavy!) I started to have second thoughts as the box sat in my driveway ...covered with a tarp... for a month and a half. Finally I bit the bullet and opened the box. But not before I looked on CZcams to see if I could get a real visual. You popped up right away and gave me confidence to move forward! Especially with the 1st part- putting the little stuff together. I could have used a little more about putting the roof on though.But, hey-that was after lunch-our brains turn to mush,- and it was time to move on. But I made it w/out the step by step. It really turned out to be easy..as you said -like leggos! Hopefully it will last. I am a sixty five year old woman- I did it by myself and was happy to have a good example to go by! Also- I was an art professor for 30 years- Good impression of "American Gothic"!

      We are so pleased that our video helped. We struggled with the roof too, which is probably why we didn't have as much detail on that part. Our hands were occupied with the tools and not the camera. Haha. The American Gothic recreation was fun! Thanks for commenting. So glad to help.

      Kudos for the Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (search on google)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got cool success with it.

    I just did the skylights in my shed. I used an awl to open up the holes so I could see through and line up the skylights. Taking a lunch break, so far it’s going easy.

      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 3 lety

      We intended to but realized after we finished that we were so involved in putting the roof together and forgot to film some of it. Ugh. I guess the lesson is that the roof trusses and assembly require a bit of focus. Thanks for the feedback and I am glad you enjoyed it.

    @jaydee3046 Před 4 lety +1

    You can get the assembly manual online for most of the plastic sheds. If you had to wait for delivery of the shed, you can get ahead of assembly time by studying.

    Can you recommend size and length of concrete anchors please ? also if you can recommend masonry drill bit size to go with those fasteners, that would be nice.

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 4 lety +1

      I believe the anchors were 1/2 inch x 4 inches long, but the instructions to this shed recommended a size. Unfortunately I don't have the instructionsany longer. Also, i dont recall the bit brand, but it must be a masonary bit to drill into concrete. A knowledgeable associate at Lowes guided me to the right bit size and type. Keep in mind you'll need good drill and a socket style bit to drive the bolts in as well because it will peobably have a nut on the end instead of a flathead or Phillips screw head.

    Great video. I am looking at this same shed to purchase. Have you had any high wind days? How did this shed hold up? Any leaks from heavy rain?

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 4 lety +1

      We have had some high wind days, albiet that is subjective based on where you live.. No leaks - now it is not water sealed, so a little could get in under the roof, but it hangs over sufficiently and we haven't.
      We are very pleased with it!

  • @Silv819
    @Silv819 Před 5 lety +1

    Hi there. I am about to buy that same shed ( 8x10 )but I am sandwiching it between my garage and a fence with like 4 inches to spare. My question is can it be completely assembled from the inside without having to access the sides...as I would have zero room for access on the outside walls...thanks!

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 5 lety +1

      It might be a little awkward, but probably...
      The tough part will be the roof - and there is an overhang of a few inches.
      You probably could, but it will be challenging.
      Good Luck!!

    • @Silv819
      @Silv819 Před 5 lety +1

      Truly Remarkable Life yeah i saw that overhang. Thanks for the quick response! Cheers

    Great video ! I got a concrete slab and I plan to put shed on it. Can shed itself hold itself with its weight ? I don’t have masonry drill so how essential is it to secure shed to the concrete slab ? Can I put entire shed first and then install concrete anchors within a week or so ?

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi. The shed is pretty solid without masonry anchors but I don't think it is heavy enough to serve as its own anchor. However, it should be fine as long as you add them at some point soon after. I wouldn't trust it in a big storm ith high winds without being weighted or anchored... but you can definitely do it after it is assembled (just don't cover where the anchor holes are with your stuff you are storing.) You should be able to get a masonry drill bit at home depot or other hardware store. I'd recommend investing in a good quality bit for a few extra dollars because it will help make it easier to drill.

    • @ameykawale
      @ameykawale Před 4 lety

      Truly Remarkable Life Thank you ! In the meanwhile, I will be storing my snowblower in the shed. The snowblower is close to 200 lbs so I suppose it is heavy enough to hold the shed in moderate winds

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 4 lety

      Yeah... that should work!

  • @georgemoomaw9437

    Where on earth did you find such irritating sound effects? There was indeed 30 seconds of useful information in the first 3 1/2 minutes. I couldn’t watch any more than that so I may have missed a lot. Next time try to be a little more informative and a LOT less entertaining.
    Having said all that, I bet I would enjoy pounding down a couple of beers with you guys.

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  Před 4 lety

      Well... we do our best. Sorry we didn't "hit the nail on the head" with sound effects. (Sorry... I apparently get the sound effects the same place I get my bad jokes.) Fortunately, we don't focus on "How to" videos. It was just a one-off to help anyone who might need it. I will look for less annoying music/sounds in the future. Can't win em all, eh?
