i never thought to visit manchester but this has got me interested! might have to check it out if i ever get to liverpool to check out the cavern club!

Awesome model railway! As a signal man from Germany I can add we still use these today. I learned my craft on a newer and bigger version with full size Signal Boxes. Although not as lovely as Manchesters variant, It ran a wide variety of model trains. And who else can say they accepted the Hogwarts Express on their line, even though my station had no platform 9 3/4 sadly. In Dresden they got the most modern one, even ETCS and ATO can be used experimentally.

In early 20th Century Richmond, Virginia, USA, they had a triple stack of railroads. That is, 3 independent levels. Gasoline powered trucks took away cargo from the railroads. So the tallest bridge was dismantled because it was no longer needed and was growing expensive to maintain. They did try to tunnel, but the sandy soil made the tunnel collapse frequently. The last collapse trapped a train with its crew.
