The Boys out here got me feeling sad for an octopus in an abusive relationship
Dead had me out here thinking nah I gotta do better as a man🤦🏾♂️
Lol you're absolutely right.
Credit Tilda Swinton.
I kept wondering why I cared so much for a literal gci octopus, but I think its just because she's voiced by Tilda Swinton
There is a room free next to where Deep is a guess..
I loved how deep was so arrogant thinking that he could've just sneaked into the boys place until butcher mention the octopus (which no one knows) has shocked him hard.
The Deep's one redeeming quality was his genuine love of marine life. Now that he's lost even that, there's nowhere to go but down
I guess you can say
He’s in too “deep”
I’ll see myself out…
@GrimReaperCreeper you can also say he fell off the 'deep' end.
@@GrimReaperCreeper WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
I blame Sage for this, yeah he was the Seven's worst but even then he had a line, now he's stepped out of it.
he's not the Deep anymore he's officially the Peak
Deep deserves the absolute worst, sometimes i forget hes a damn monster and one of the most evil characters with how funny he is at times
I was thinking the same thing. He's so comedically stupid, ineffectual and played for laughs most of the time that it's easy to forget that he's a murderer and sexual abuser
He’s the “Darth jarjar” character
To be honest, The Deep confuses me. Is he a good guy who screws up, is he a selfish butt kisser, or what. He just doesn't come aff a malicious the way Homelander and the rest of Voughts top brass does. More often than not he comes off as a guy who has no idea what's going on, and a fascination with blow jobs (which is disturbing, but manageable). This scene comes off as our of place, because he lives sea life and doesn't crave respect the way Homelander does.
For real, and funny enough that's how people in real life is.
It was just a fish
He killed the octopus only find out Sage was sleeping with Noir and didn't need a lobotomy to do it.

It's fucking insane to me that Tilda Swinton can make an Octopus dying sound so tragic
She did not have to give this 100% but she did
Tilda is one of our best fr fr
Meh, I think pulling not 1, but 3 fake out made the scene more hammy than tragic.
It sounded hilarious
And hot
funny how for the first two seasons they were making the Deep sympathetic and A-train was proving himself the a-HOLE again and again. now they've switched.
They were both pretty much children with super powers. The Deep was usually ineffective so he appeared more harmless. However, A-Train started to mature and realized that he became what he hated. The Deep instead regressed and fully embraced his irresponsibility and childishness.
Just so. They started at similar places, but they've chosen different paths. If A-Train is killed, he'll at least know that he tried to be better. Deep's self-hatred will only get worse.
The deep was an experiment in making you feel sympathetic for a monster,
Now that arc is over,
The current arc is about the deep losing his humanity
A-train still strikes me as the bigger a hole. Probably because he thinks he’s better than the rest of them for saving a few people.
@@Hawaiian_Pizza_Enjoyer except hes not like thinking hes better, he knows hes a complete shithead, hes just trying to be better and end the madness
Easily the worst thing he's ever done. Poor Ambrosios was always good to him, despite everything, she always spoke highly of him, and despite being a God Damn octopus, she was actually a good girlfriend to him. And how does he pay her back for all her kindness and love to him? He kills her, absolutely terrible, the Deep's villain arc has reached it's peak!
He's not even a villain. He's petty thug, a pest.
I always felt so bad for her in the relationship, it's always like deep saw her as less
She an octopus how far did you think it was gonna go.

Wasn’t the first thing we saw him do trying to force himself onto Starlight?
Funny thing is that the cephalopod was the only one that actually liked him,
Sage needed to be lobotomized to even be able to tolerate him,
Homelander sees him as a pawn,
The boys hate him,
Ahsley thinks he's a moron,
Starlight hates him,
A train dosen't care about him and secretly wanted to punch him in the face for a while

Some of you pointed out that octopi can survive up to 1 hour outside of water. But what if this scene really played out over an hour, as in Deep was actually sitting there for an hour listening to the death cries which to him felt like 5 minutes due to his shock?
Lots of People don’t get how stress and shock works, you will experience moments of spacing out because your mind is focused on what you just did, eventually, your brain would temporarily lose the ability to track time.
Plus the increased blood flow makes you feel like you spent 10 minutes in that room when in reality you’ve been in there for 40 minutes or an hour.
Edit: nevermind
I think one reason why the octopus died was due to the sudden loss of water was what caused her to die, meaning it wasn’t prepared for the sudden change in the environment
@@bendriscoll4758so basically like if a human was suddenly submerged without a chance to hold their breath.
@darman12able good way to put it
This actually makes a lot of sense because it can be seen just a few minutes earlier, they are cuddling on the bed out of water and you don't do that for less than 30 seconds. If they wanted to cuddle without a whole ton of unnecessary stress, they would be cuddling in the water. The interpretation that the actual murder taking about an hour or maybe even longer, makes complete sense and looked intentional.

Aside from him being an complete douche, can we agree that he probably has the most traumatizing super power in the series? Like I can't imagine the anguish and begging Timothy had before he ate it and The Deep must be experiencing hundreds of incidents like this among the sealife. I would not want this power at all.
Here’s the thing, Deep never once ever tries to atone or redeem himself in anyway. Granted yes he was afraid of homelander, but the son of a bitch raped Starlight, he got so many sea creatures killed and it was all for his image. Deep had potential to do good with his powers; but he rather satisfy his own desires than to ever do good with them.

Many people will diminish Ambrosius as just "an Octopus ", but this scene is the PERFECT representation of a toxic relationship where the other is a DEPENDENT of their spouse.
Not "dependent on" emotionally, but a physical dependent. Ambrosius chose to be with Kevin, despite being restrained to a tank, and Kevin CHOSE to be with her. Their relationship is no different than if she were a human in a respirator who depends on the care of their lover. She had no where to go, even if she wanted to, and yet she DESIRED to stay.
