Thank you for the build idea :) there are several things about this build i find semi-optimal:
- 25 mind and 9 endurance is very very low as a mage caster on level 150! Would recommend putting more into it! You will run out of stamina in no time and with the use of Night Comet you definitely should have more mind.
- to put 24 faith just for the sword of night and flame is rediculous, especially when you are just 1 point away from getting access to Golden Vow with 25 faith. Better use Moonveil as an int/dex scaling weapon or just use Carian Slicer and use a dagger with Bloodhound's Step.
- the spellblade set has only 2 Poise, i would highly recommend having >= 51 in order to play melee and endure light attacks, as a casters thats fine but as a melee you will get interrupted a lot
- in order to save some points you can go 50 vigor instead
conclusion: If you really want to follow this idea of a int scaling weapon skill build, go Darkmoon Greatsword and use that instead, then the spellblade set would make sense. This current points spread is not optimal and requires higher levels to actually make sense. I honestly dont see a reason for having 80 int and using the Comet Azur on your weapon instead of the original.
I agree. With maxed out flasks ideally you want at least 38 mind so one flask completely restores a full bar. And obviously you need to be in NG+ for the second Staff of Loss you find in Caelid.
I also agree with adding a measly extra point into Faith for Golden Vow, especially considering the spellblade armor.
Do you mind telling me what you recommend for attributes?…I’m new to the magic build and want the start right
@@thurleuro4543 when you start as a mage i would put all your attributes into vigor and int evenly distributed. Vigor gives you more survivability and int increases your damage in the most effictient way early on. For bossfights damage over time and maximum health are the most important attributes.
Try to get 40 vigor and 40 int, after that you can think about mind for more mana, and endurance for heavier equipment - you have to stay in the medium load.
As a mage I would say this is your stat priority:
1. vigor(softcaps 40, 50, 60)/int (softcap 80)
2. mind (i think you need around 38 mind to have enough mana for the maxed out mana flask)
3. endurance to stay in med load, ideally you have a armor set with >= 51 poise, so you should have 22/23 endurance at least
4. dexterity (hardcap 70 vdex, radagon icon gives you 40 vdex)
5. faith, when you have more than 200 levels you can think about going 25 faith for golden vow
When you start as a mage i would recommend to only use Carian Slicer and Glinstone Pebble/Rock Sling. Thats all you need really
@@Maggi0561 I appreciate the time you took man…what do you mean on number 4?…the radagon icon shortens spell casting…what do you mean it gives you 40 dex?
@@thurleuro4543 ddexterity shortens casting time, correct, but only parts of spells. Some spells have different animations and only a certain percentage of the spell can be cast more quicker. 70 dexterity would be the maximum buff for casting spells if you would invest that many points directly into it. However, certain items can buff casting speed as well, aside from directly investing in dex. Radogon Icon and Azur's Glinstone Staff both buff casting cpeed. Azurs Staffs gives you 40 virtual dexterity (vdex) and Radagon Icon gives you 30 vdex. I got that wrong: The talisman gives you 30, not 40. Why is that important? When you are in lategame and above level 150 you can start to think about dex and you don't want to invest too many points into it. 70 is the hard cap, so every additional point above that will not give you anything. Let's say you start with Astrologer and you are using the talisman Radagon Icon, then you start with 12 dex, and the icon gives you 30 dex, 42 in total. Therefore you should only put 28 points into dex.
He probably beaten Malenia very quick in the game, because he was not reminded of this 400+ times, "I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella".

I use lusats glinstone staff and staff of loss, extra 200dps is not worth when you can use lusats with other spells also like stars of ruin or ancient death rancor which is also usefull if you use night and flame sword, death rancor makes them easy target for sword atts cuz it micro stun them with every hit. And beeing a mage and using 1 magic is shamefull...

@@Broken_Lobo After 500 hours and 3 different characters into NG+ with tons of respecs I finally got around to trying a STR/FAI build. Literally one of my last builds to try out.
@@Broken_Lobo I sort of combined Fextra’s pyro build with his Blasphemous Blade build after the buffs to pyromancies. I’m using Frenzied Burst as my snipe spell. That shit hits hard and from way downtown.

I've been running a build like this for about 8 months now. Also using 2 of the same staffs does not stack the buff
are you 100% sure? I want to be sure before I invest materials into upgrading my second one
@@masterwalpha yes and you wouldn't even need to upgrade it for the buff anyway. Assuming you're running 80 int like those video I'd be running carian regal scepter as your spell caster and staff of loss in you off hand to buff night comet. If your high enough to have 80 faith and 80 int use the prince of death staff. I'm almost at 3k boss carries with the build I use

Yea prince of death staff and staff of loss in left hand has a higher damage output than two staffs of loss
Prince of deaths staff is better for all sorceries and does more damage even if that staff says it boosts those sorceries (then you would offhand it )
