EVOC Hip Pack Pro 3L Ultimate Review

  • Is this the best Hip Pack? The Evoc Hip Pack Pro 3L is certainly the top of my list, so I wanted to provide viewers with a full impartial review. I've always used the bigger back packs over the years. The kind of packs that can literally carry everything. Now while it's great to have everything you'll ever need with you, it's not always ideal on the shorter rides. After so much research and reading reviews on the internet I decided to give the EVOC Hip Pack Pro 3L a go.
    It comes with everything I as looking for. Good airflow, comfort, storage, style and mainly the budget. Evoc are renowned for good quality so I already knew I was buying into a good product that will last many years to come.
    It's taken me some time to do this review. Mainly as I like to ensure that I've captured everything I enjoy and the things that can annoy me on any trail. So I'm sure you'll appreciate the honesty with the Hip Pack.
    It's come in an array of colours and can be purchased with or without the Bladder. I do recommend getting the official EVOC bladder as it's fit for purpose with the design. If you opt not to buy the pro version then you sacrifice the velcro waist band. So there are plenty of options in the EVOC Hip Pack range, but like everything in life it despends on your personal needs and budget.
    Enjoy

    I actually ordered mine on the EVOC website yesterday. EVOC (USA) called me this morning and said that they are right down the street from me and I could just come and pick it up and save $9 in shipping. That was super nice of them. Now I have a few bucks to buy some beers! Cheers.

    Great review. Been considering losing my backpack in favour of a hip pack. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

    Happy with my EVOC PRO 3L!!! Opted out of the hydro option, I prefer soft bottles or standard water bottle. Side pocket will fit a Keltec P32, always nice when in the woods!

    I’ve stopped using the bladder. I never drink enough from a bladder, the hose keeps dropping down (I’ve seen a retractable zinger used to solve this) and there’s no space left in the bumbag. Nowadays I use drinks bottles in the bottle pockets plus one bottle on the bike. This lets me carry to the maximum capacity of the bumbag - living in Wales you still need to take a spare top & raincoat even on a sunny day. Fully laden I don’t know it’s there after a few minutes. Brilliant!

    Good review but would have been good to see what it was like with a full bladder to help people put into perspective your warning about a full bladder limiting the rest of the storage.

    An excellent and informative review about the Hip Pack. A sweaty back is a fundamental problem in most of the back backs and hip backs. The air flow system in this Hip Pack is a great feature.

    Trying to get hold of a few of these to compare. I've been using the Dakine Hot Laps 2 for ages but with a desire to take more cameras out with me I'm looking to go up a litre or 2.
    Good review that mate.

      I've got the hot laps also. Good bit of kit. There's an evoc backpack for dslrs if you didn't know. Go on the webpage and check it out. Might be more suitable

      Mike's MTB Adventures yeah I’ve seen that one. I’m not a fan of taking my proper camera out in a hip bag though, it’s just more for spare GoPro, gorillapod and stuff.

      @deserthawk4178 Před 3 lety +2

      TimFromWales MTB I’ve got both..the evoc much more comfortable, you can fill the bladder nice and full and it doesn’t feel like it is pushing into your lower back. Ps never ever stop saying “good bit of kit” we get a kick out of it here in the USA! Happy riding.

    Thanks man, very nice review! I'm considering to buy this hip pack for XC/short rides/park days, so when I don't need a backpack to hold kneepads, helmet during climbing, etc.
    Just a question: in your opinion, is there enough space to carry one or two spare shirts/jerseys and the bladder full of water at the same time? All of my tools and spare tube are in a bag under the seat of my bike, so no problems for them

  • @bollocks40
    @bollocks40 Před 4 lety +1

    I use one of these the non pro 3L one , I agree do not carry to much though as they bounce around otherwise, I do not use a bladder in mine though but I also find the water bottle pocket to be very tight, so much so I struggle to get a bottle in it without having to take the pack off completely first which pretty much defeats the object but other than that a good pack, would I buy again probably not I would go with the cheaper Dakine.

  • @BHShaman
    @BHShaman Před 3 lety +5

    Looks like the main compartment is evenly split. I have all my tools in a bottle container. Wondering if I can add a second bladder.

  • @TheMikeDudley
    @TheMikeDudley Před 4 lety +1

    Yep. Brilliant. I use a hip pack with water bottles plus a Camelback "Chaos" to carry a spare battery for long rides. Due to spinal injury from a head plant in 2013, I have to avoid a backpack. The advantage of this pack by itself is obvious but also, I can "rest" the Chaos on the pack, which takes the pressure and most of the weight away from my spine. Also, I'm using a "walker's" hip pack at the moment, which has inferior waist strapping. Thanks for this review.

  • @Top_Drivez

    CAn you fill the bladder and still have room to shove bottles on either side? Need more water than this, but really hoping to ditch the backpack on hot rides.
