Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling the next gym leader

Just an FYI you could have had a vikavolt at blush mountain. Ultra sun and moon made it an magnetic field
True. It is only in the original Sun and Moon that you have to wait for Vast Poni Canyon. It is easy to overlook Blush Mountain as it is an optional area, but you can get Vikavolt and Magnezone so much earlier in USUM because of the addition of the special magnetic field there.

I discovered that by accident when my Magneton leveled up and straight up evolved. I wondered WTF! Didn't know that was possible on purpose.
I really appreciate that they did that because the third island in my opinion is the perfect time to get the power of Vikavolt
Word of advice: Araquanid learns Mirror Coat at level 50. If you give it a focus sash you can one-shot U-Necrozma on the first turn
That was my strategy but I only had a Focus Band and Max affection...
It took a bunch of resets...

@@insertclevernamehere1186 Doing a normal playthrough is fine, and resetting is allowed. I did Ultra Moon because, I love Lunala.
I just bring a very tanky pokémon so i can survive one hit and toxic stall
But generally I don't have a pokémon that's tanky enough so i just use a zorua with illusion to do the same thing

I’d love to see a Sword or shield mono Grass nuzlocke, so many choices and it’s going to be a tough challenge vs Kabu and Leon’s Unbeatable charizard.
Speaking of which, has anyone ever told you that Leon is the unbeatable champion? I'm sure no one from Galar told you that, so I thought I might mention it.

Just an FYI for the next time you encounter a mon with Aftermath, the ability only works if the move that kills it is a contact move, and since Shadow Ball wasn't a contact move you would've been fine to stay in with Masquerain
I actually love the bug type. I'm glad they are getting stronger mons in the last couple gens
Alola was really the redemption of bug types with Galisopod, Vikavolt, Araquanid, Rebombee, and more

@@themememanbird9931 You forget Gen 5 with Crustle, Volcarona, Escavelier, Leavanny, and Scolipede. But yeah, a lot of newer Bug Pokémon are really strong.

If I remember, Aftermath only activates if the target uses a contact move on the Pokémon with that ability, and since Masquerain is mostly a special attacker, the switch was unneccessary. That's my only minor gripe on this amazing Hardcore Nuzlocke.
Ultra Necrozma really is a blood bath in most nuzlockes.. good thing you had some bodies to throw at it😅 Super entertaining video as per usual

Honestly I'm really happy you used Masquerain, one of my favourite pokemon, as a pretty good sweeper. Seeing it demolish Accerolas team and seeing it stand its game with some strong ass pokemon like Volcarona and Golisipod makes me happy

Blush Mountain has an electromagnetic field, so you could have gotten a Vikavolt earlier.

5:40 actually dewpider is available just before the trail. (Not that I’d think it’d be the key player in that specific trial or anything) The trial doesn’t start until the totem itself so the Pokémon before it are fair game

I'm pretty sure that is only in regular sumo. I think in the ultra games they changed it so that the trial starts at the beginning
I've played UM a few weeks ago, you can't catch anything until you beat the totem pokemon ^^

Hey, Antlerboy. Just had an idea for a Halloween video. Do a Ghost type nuzlocke in X & Y. And the naming theme could be famous horror movie monsters. Like Pumpkaboo being named Michael Myers.
Might be better to do Alola since Decidueye is the only ghost type starter...

I feel like nuzlocke is the actual way to play Pokemon. Since you cannot stat check your enemy, you gotta strategize, counter. I think thats very fun.

Telling you, as one who's one of my favorite type is Bug, Alola is the greatest lineup of Bug types. Sadly Durant wasn't a part of the Alola dex otherwise you would have a literal nuke at your disposal

I love how you have the nicknames of the Pokemon based on a set of things. May I suggest next episode nicknaming them after types of rocks and stones? (Example: ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond, quartz, obsidian.) Just trying to give some ideas :) love the vids!

I have no clue whether anyone has mentioned it yet but at 22:50 when you mentioned Drifblim’s aftermath the ability actually only takes effect when the Pokémon is knocked out by a move that makes contact, so it was completely safe to shadow ball there.

I think the reason why Lycanroc didn't go for Continental Crush is because Araquanid is part Water and Bug, so the game might only register the Water part, and decide that they would not be able to K.O you with Continental Crush. It's at least the only thing I can think of!

I was wondering during the E4 battle against Acerola, doesn't Aftermath only works when you kill Drifblim with a physical attack? If that's the case then you could have used Shadow Ball but I don't know if that's the case so it was better to play safe here!
