    Thanks for this lesson about the progression. Most lessons are just limited to the solo but I -and many others - like to play entire songs! Thanks also for explaining what you are playing and why !

      Yup I second that, really nice look at the chord progression, which is the bedrock of the solo, which of course everyone focuses lessons on.

    Hi Marc. Thank you for the great video! One request for future tutorials: it would be amazing to see you play through the song in real time at the top of the video before the tutorial. Thanks!

      Hi, thanks for the kind comment. Unfortunately, playing through it breaks copyright so I can't do that without getting hit with the consequences. For the solos, I played them through on a separate video, so the main lessons didn't get restricted.

    Fantastic lesson, thank you Marc... One of the songs in my handful of best songs ever, some chords I am quite comfortable with and some a little more challenging for me that I don't generally use, the diminished chord. So will definitely be attempting this and adding to my practice from today... 🎸🎶

      @@MarcGuitarVideos Hey.. follow up question/comment.. if you will.. when you go to the D7, then to the D#dim (either during the verse or the bridge).. I notice you change up the fingering. When I play it, I play the D7 (like the barred A7 shape) then I just add the D# with my free middle finger.. but I keep the rest of the fingers the same.. muting the low E string, of course. I find it's a little easier that way, less movement. Especially if you're also singing at the same time.

    • @MarcGuitarVideos
      @MarcGuitarVideos  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@Kendrix_76 Yes, I see what you are saying. Thing with chords and fingerings is that there's no right or wrong way to play play them. Do what ever feels most comfortable to you. To me, the way you are playing it is less comfortable simply because my fingers aren't used to making those shapes. If it's more comfortable for you to play it that way, then that's right for you and don't try copying my way just because it happens to work for me.

    When you do the rhythm arpegiated it sounds like 6/8 timing but later when you do the chord shots it seems like 4/4. Am I missing something.

    • @simonvanderheijden432
      @simonvanderheijden432 Před 5 měsíci

      Marc Guitar over here refers to the song as an 8 bar blues so he's clearly at lost when it comes to the time signature of the song and what constitutes an 8 bar blues....

  • @dragonfly672
    @dragonfly672 Před měsícem

    Actually the chords are D,
    D #b7, A,F#m,Bm,E7 intro
    A,D,A,E7 Verses just repeats this is the actual chords. From the recording Peter green is the uk Bues God btw this profession is in 6/8 time

  • @simonvanderheijden432
