Very graceful tune Sam Lee & Friends! The harmonies are fab, four singers and one microphone, it would remind one of the accapella and doo-wop groups of the fifties and sixties.Very enjoyable, I couldn't keep my eyes off the performance and other performances online. Thanks for the upload.

I saw them at WOOD Festival last year.
This was the encore. They came down off stage and the audience gathered round.
They did this. There wasn't a dry eye in the house...

Props to Jules for featuring this wonderful performance in an unfashionable genre. Unlike the Scots, Irish and Welsh, the English don't seem to value their wonderful folk tradition. This kind of exposure can only help spread the word...

@@Howeverwhatabout I've learned this lovely song since I last posted and researched its history.
Turn out that it emerged from the Scottish tradition. It was originally collected by Hamish Henderson from Jock MacShannon while engaged in fieldwork in Kintyre. Hamish taught it to Jeannie Robertson who passed in on to her daughter Lizzie Higgins. It's Jeannie and Lizzie's magnificent recordings introduced it into the revival, but Sam's performance comes from a different direction and is delicate and touching in its own right.
I once heard Lizzie sing it live - the finest singer I ever heard in person. Etched on my memory. There's a recording here:

Lee should become a conductor and stop singing
