Mine being delivered on Monday. 😊
Conrats! Mine on Wed, the Royale version!!!!Yayyy
What co l or interior? @@normanbataille8865
Yes, I would buy it. Even though it has worse fuel economy. It needs a mild hybrid system
It might be worth the extra cash to go that route. Hyundai/ Genesis does make a solid hybrid offering.
Wait another year or two. Hyundai/Genesis are finalizing a 2.5 T/Hybrid for certain Hyundai/Kia models and the Genesis lineups
Agree. The Genesis hybrids are coming soon...might have to wait a year or two though
Maybe this should be your replacement, or even an GLE450e, not much content on CZcams for that😁! Looks great. Haters can’t say it’s unreliable, because the gv80 has been solid with reliability.
Def not a GLE but a GV80 would be great, I like the facelift
Genesis one of the best luxury car brand reliabilty history, technically speaking. Only Lexus is clearly on top. Lincoln, Cadillac, Acura, and Infiniti are all kind of similar to Genesis.
How do you know the GV80 has been reliable? What long term data do you have?
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 okay this is literally a lie
@@MercOne the newer GV80s (2021+) haven’t had many issues but I’m not expecting Acura/Lexus levels of reliability
I think the front end looks even better now, interior also…I just don’t like how the exhaust is hidden now. I know the Sport will have exposed exhaust, but I think I prefer the overall looks of the regular model.
Excellent review - stunning vehicle. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks, will do!
That white GV80 W/the peanut butter interior is something else!!!!
Do you feel any difference in the steering ( weight and speed ) for the ( 2021 - 2024 ) vs the 2025 model year? Compared to the X5 and GLE, I thought the 2022 GV80 steering was a bit heavy even in comfort mode, and the actual ratio slow off-center ( same for the GV70 - just doesn't seem to match the character of a luxury-focused SUV ). For reference, my personal ideal steering weight and feel would be the Acura RDX and MDX.
I enjoyed your video. I am a Mercedes-Benz Model S AMG Line owner. I enjoy watching car video analysis, but my question is about your cool-looking sunglasses. If I may ask, what brand are they?
It’s very nice! I like the interior and crystal shifter
Finally, Genesis has caught up with its German and Japanese rivals.
The older grill looked better than that double diamond design. Bring back the dual exhausts as well. The interior with that OLED display looks incredible. One this the Koreans get right are the interiors.
Hi Mason And Hi Drew When You Will Be Reviewing The Gmc Acadia And Bmw M4 Competition
The Acadia very soon!
You might as well get a Genesis GV80 to replace the Santa Fe
It’s too expensive for them to buy.
@@GarlandTexasSpotter2024 I'm sure they can afford it, but it just doesn't make sense for them because the will lose so much money in depreciation if they plan to sell it after 2 years. I'd like them to test cheaper cars like the trax, or future EV3, etc.
I think from now on you should not know if the car has air suspension until after you do your ride. I can't really feel the difference between air and springs maybe, you can that's the only way i think.
And that my friends is how you make a vehicle.
I actually like the older gv80 interior better
Same
My mom told me if I wanted her car so I was like can I trade it in? and she said yes so now I've been looking at your vids and I can't decide between this and the bmw x5. love your vids they have been helping xD
Glad we can help!
BMW is trash with a luxury name. And that’s not an opinion. Definitely get this!
Def either get this or a 2025 MDX to replace the SantaFe
Happy Friday!
Have a terrific weekend!
Nice 2025 upgrades to the wheels and steering wheel. However, for the same price, I prefer the X5 40i for significantly better performance in acceleration, gas mileage, and ride quality.
I feel like I'm gonna wait for them to do a hybrid with NACS.
This is still the value king that offers 90% of the German car experience, with better reliability. The RX is a polished Highlander. The MDX interior is too awful in materials and ergonomics, and too much piano black. Even with the price increase, it's still an amazing car, and the facelift is more substantial than what Acura or Lexus do. It took Acura ages to remove the touchpad, but the overall interior still needs improvements.
Nice review. I'm a Genesis fan, bought one of the very first GV70 3.5 Sport Prestiges, love everything about the GV80 changes BUT I hate the panoramic screens, on any brand, any model. They place both the instrument cluster and infotainment screens at compromised heights, no glare protection, the steering wheel blocks some view, and it can be detracting to the driver. Pano screens are cheaper to manufacture, not better. Interesting some future Genesis performance models will maintain separate screens, while other models will have panoramic screens, not all changes are for the better...........
I might consider this if I could afford it. Lexus has dropped a considerable amount in luxury. The 2000 lexus series is almost as nice as modern day ones.
Lexus looks no different to Toyota now. Look what they did to gx interior.
I miss the exhaust I want them back
Let's hope they made improvements on the battery life compared to GV80 2021. My 2021 has only 13,500 miles, but the battery has failed after 3 years. No interchangeable battery. Factory replacement. With a small computer on top the Positive lead. You will need Service Technician to clear codes on battery you replace. 4 -6 weeks waiting on replacement. Mine is sitting in garage as opposed to sitting at Dealership. No good !
Beautiful cars, amazing when they work right - but the dealers are absolutely horrendous and incompetent when it comes to the repairs that you will, eventually, need.
I had mine for two years no problems. Regular service has been great, all under warranty not to mention concierge service A+
(The most powerful) 2025 Genesis GV80 model could also have a 3.5T 48V E-supercharger engine (available for the Genesis G90 model) as an option!.
I don't see why they didn't make this a mild hybrid or even a hybrid hell a phev!
They don't have the tech due to them shutting down their powertrain research center for EVs only. Genesis have now reverse course to diversify their lineup with ICE, EV, HEV, and EREV (think Ram 1500 Range Extender, BMW I3). We won't see any of these electrified models til 2026.
they are twin??
Not a fan of the displays, looks like an afterthought. I prefer the old one, but the rest of the interior changes are well done.
Hyundai Kia are the new Toyota Honda. Hyundai Kia are light years ahead of BMW BENZ and AUDI
I agree with you 100% I went and looked at Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord hybrid enhance down the Hyundai sonata blew them out of the water their interiors look so dated the front console on the sonata is the same as this Genesis Gv80.. the hybrid gets 51 mi to a gallon and I've been getting like 60 in the city...
Whats with the bots with butts in their pfp talking about cameramen
I thought this isn't twitter
It's a terrible spam problem that's been going on for months and CZcams still hasn't fixed. We try to delete them but we can't keep up!
I just don't get this long screen thing. Like how the hell do people actually like that long screen.
Change of the previous ugly steering wheel to this new sporty one is a big improvement.
I agree. I wasn't a fan of the previous steering wheel
The new gv80 look like a Santa Fe
I think the 2024 GV80 is more luxurious. There's one 2025 GV80 Prestige that has recycled newspaper on the dash and console. PLEASE! I THINK THE STEERING WHEEL IS BETTER ON THE 2025, BUT THE 2024 HAS A DOOR COVERING THE CUP HOLDER WHICH LOOKS REALLY NICE, ESPECIALY WITH THE WOOD TRIM.
They got Bentley designers working for them. There's a reason this looks like a Bentley on the interior
"Bentley BLUSH" ??😂
A rectangular slab of a screen stuck in place of a beautiful guage cluster (2024)... 🤦♂️ wtf...
I get the hate for slab but that's the most well integrated slab I've seen and I'd take that over most separate gauge clusters
Exhibit A - Lincoln Nautilus
Btw I m in no way hating on GV80, overall, its an awesome interior that they always do. But when I see what the design team at Lincoln has been able to implement, it makes me wonder, on why Genesis chose to stick this slab of a thing in there... 🤦♂️
@oommenthms2728 u got a point with nautilus. I'm kinda torn on that one tho because although it looks nice from a glance I wonder how it will be living with it day to day. I just feel like they have all that screen just to have it but worry that the entire passenger side would be pretty purposeless resulting in the entire front of the car having a large hump that just reduces feeling of openness.
As for gv80 I do think they are being lazy putting that long slab on many of their new cars but for gv80s defense it's a refresh not a remodel so maybe they'll be less lazy with a remodel when that eventually comes. The saving grace for the slab on gv80 is that it has super thin bezels and high quality screens so it still looks quality even tho it's laking in the overall interior design part.
It's a beautiful SUV, but 80K for a buying experience and more importantly servicing out of a Hyundai dealership? The only thing holding them back is their dealer situation. That leather color is indeed very Bentley like. Gorgeous.
41 stand alone's opened up in one year
@@thomaswattle9828Wrong. In the USA they now have 35 stand alone dealerships total. So no they didn’t open 41 stand alone dealers just this year. For goodness sakes why don’t you research things before you post such false information.
@@MercOne there are stand alone's like the new one in Tulsa Ok. that opened this month and there are locations that aren't /weren't mentioned.
@@thomaswattle9828So their own press releases don’t mention their own dealers? You can’t be dumb enough to believe that. They did not open 41 stand alone dealers just this year. Just stop. You think 41 dealers compare to hundreds like everyone else has?
@@thomaswattle9828They did not open 41 new stand alone dealers just this year. Not sure what you aren’t getting here. They don’t even have 41 stand alone dealers in total yet. Try to think.
That silver center console looks dated as hell - looks like from an old Lincoln’s
I thought Hyundai made Genesis.
Hyundai Made Genesis, as a luxury brand. Just like how Toyota made Lexus and Honda made Acura.
@@GarlandTexasSpotter2024 Thanks for the confirmation.
Genesis is a ashamed to have a Hyundai nameplate attached to it😅.. apples don't fall far from the tree 🌴
@@charlesjackson1700 Charles, why are you always so funny
@@charlesjackson1700 Why would they? Would you find a Honda badge on a Acura or a Totyota badge on a Lexus? In America? No, you wouldn't. Now run along.
It’s a gorgeous vehicle, but I still don’t think long term reliability is quite where it needs to be.
Unfortunately genesis vehicles are not known for their longterm reliability
@@ajaymanchester8746 Much better than the Germans though.
Every Toyota fan boi always referencing long-term reliability. Do you all drive your cars till the wheels fall off? If you maintain your vehicle properly it will serve you long term. I had a 2016 Sonata limited that I drove for 7 years and 120,000 miles and never one day had an issue. I changed my oil regularly and did minor maintenance including new tires etc. It had no scratches on the paint because I ppf the front hood including the bumper and ceramic coated it from day one. I traded it in last year and got $17000 for a Kia Sportage hybrid Sx Prestige.
@@Brayant25 I just turned 300,000 miles on my 2009 Corolla and other than regular maintenance just an oil pressure switch and two ignition coils Yes, just look at the latest consumer reports disclosing owner feedback reports from customers in the 12 vehicles likely to hit over 200,000 miles reliably 11 of the 12 on this are Hondas and Toyotas not a Hyundai or Kia in the group
I don't care what consumer reports says. It is a sponsored report anyway. If you drive your car 300,000 miles kudos to you. By the time you want to trade it in you will get nothing and the technology in the vehicle is all outdated.
Bentley wouldn’t even look in the direction of this knockoff luxury car😅
You mentioned that you could choose another interior trim. Are you sure about that? Every review I’ve seen so far on this refreshed GV80 has that very light colored trim. I personally think it looks awful. It stands out like a sore thumb. It’s a deal breaker for me.
It looks amazing. How are you doubting the fact that a modern car has multiple interior styles? Have you never bought a car before.
That's just because Genesis wants to show off the new look for the press so all the models they have provided people have that color/material combo so far
@@trstnhn I was referring to the trim pieces that Genesis usually makes from wood. Let’s try and not be insulting
@@CarConfections I’m extremely colorblind and it just looks white to me. It’s definitely creative though.
$81k almost justifies buying a slightly used X5 M competition.
Then just buy a slightly used gv80. The argument of "this new car costs almost as much as this used car" never really made any sense and people should stop with that nonsense
Thank goodness they got rid of that ugly looking steering wheel
interior is a big downgrade
Huh?
Genesis is taking a risk with those prices, definitely would not choose Genesis brand at these prices, there's no cache'.
a lot more features then it's competitors
No thanks to any Kia-Hyundai product.
@@Godwasyourdog move on then.
People who think Genesis, Hyundai or KIA is more reliable then Lexus, Toyota, Honda or Acura are delusional.
Is this going to have the same issues as the new Santa Fe?
will never drive anything japanese and play russian roulette with takata airbags😂
@@uludak8468just don’t get a Japanese vehicle with those airbags.
Yeah I don't get that either, there isn't any long term data on Genesis newest products.
@@djplonghead5403 Was the gas pedal issue ever resolved? Like that one time where Lexus and Toyota cars were known to just start accelerating at WOT randomly. Funny how are so quick to forget that ever happened.
This is the extent of the thinking capabilities of haters. They will literally make themselves appear as dumb as a rock just to take jabs lol
Genesis is more reliable than Lexus. Hyundai and KIA always proven themselves to be on top.
Are you on Hyundai payroll or something?
Unfortunately this is wrong. Reliability is a significant problem for Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia. They make great looking vehicles, but long term reliability is their flaw.
And my civic is faster than a ferrarri
Lexus and Toyota are the most reliable brands and veichles ever are you living under a nut shell?
No it’s not Lexus and Toyota stupid
the new interior is so dam boring now… you can literally get a sonata with the same exact design
😂
So the slab is all there is to an interior? Tell me where I can buy a sonata with the same interior and I promise you I will buy it. Are people nowadays really this dumb that they don't know what they are saying
@@trstnhn oh sweetheart in my wording of that comment i made sure to stay away from people like you. note that i said “design.” not “same interior”
@@nathanwright8616 The only same design is the slab and HMG integrates the slab better than most competitors. From a design standpoint, it is lacking, but from a practicality standpoint, there's nothing to complain. It's a gorgeous, high definition, bright, seamlessly integrated dual screen that has continuity.
These Hyundai products are always nice looking but they always have major issues. They need to focuse more of refinement and reliability than slapping on a nice facade over crude products.
Haters always exaggerate and cause drama
That’s one ugly grill.
This ain’t it boo!!!! Only old people buy Genesis! Ain’t no cake factory like your gurl with all the phat yams gonna buy this mess! We need that Bimmer, Bentley or Benz badge boo!!!
lol... they are a sensitive bunch
Koreans love copying BMW
and now BMW is copying Genesis
