A question (a bit over the top but...) Right Now Presonus is offering the "Free" Sparkle Guitar Instrument which is really cool by the way. Can this process also be used in conjunction with Sparkle to create "Sparkle" guitar riffs based on the triggering effect process you just described?
Maybe you can help, I'm having issues in SO recording double midi notes with my midi keyboard, easy fix? Otherwise I'm having to move the main note and delete the tiny one under each note of the chord I play in 🤯
Hey Marcus can I ask a question. I was a logic pro x bum boy for a very long time and I frequently used 'convert to sampler track' which basically detected the transients and place each transient detection on its own individual key on the keyboard I.e c1 right up to c3 using all the keys in between. This gave you the functionality to create clutch type rhythms with vocal phrases etc. Is there a way of doing this in studio one as your above method places the transient detections on the same note. Thanks in advance.
How do you pick with midi note it gets dragged to? Secondly if you drag it to a preexisting midi track it creates a new layer on top of the original how can u add these notes so they become part of the same midi that’s already there?
Does v4 offer the option of putting the bend markers BEFORE the transients, or is it still forced to be after the transients, which is absolutely useless? I will upgrade to v4 if it fixes this anti-feature!
hello there, is there any limitation between artist and professional version to create this method (audio to midi) ? because im just trying do this exercise on my SO3 Artist, but after analyze and drag into the groove box my kick track not fully (just about an a half track) .
Hey Marcus,I think other people are having the same issue I am,But I have not read a way to fix it.You had 1 complete track that you drug to the quantise box and it generated the points,I have a track that has been comped in several places and even when all the sections are selected it will only accept the first one ,none of the other sections are recognized.I have tried to merge all the parts together but it won't recognize that track at all. the only way I could get it to work was to do each section ,1 at a time. Do you know a way around this issue? thanks Joe
I had the same problem. The fix for me is this: Before you move the track into the groove clipboard, highlight the whole track, right click and you mouse and hit "mixdown audio" . Once that completes, move that track into the groove clipboard and it will capture the whole track. My original file I had "merged the audio" together after editing think it would make the file whole (which it does), but it when converting to a midi file. I had to use the mixdown option as described above.
question can you do this in studio one prime, thee isn't a detect transients, and when I drag the pattern or hit into the groove it doesn't render to midi
okay I found how to get it to midi but there is no sound coming out, can I load a sound into the track or what would I have to do yo get a specific drum hit to be midi
Same issue here. Not getting the "groove" for the entire track. Grabs some of it, but the balance of the tracks length is missing,.. Anybody figure this one out yet??
Hey Brett, Not sure if you ever found a solution. I was having the same issue. Follow the steps Marcus outlined, but instead of dragging the track with the transients to the "Groove" window, create an instrument track and drag it into that. It will appear as a solid line, but will contain the entire track. Once double you click on it, it will open up in the edit window. From there just follow the remainder of the instructions Marcus provides in this video and you're golden. It works great!
hi Marcus. I'm having problems with this. my drum track is 88 bars long. I've detected the transients. I've dragged the transients onto the Groove Quantize yet it only detects 38 bars and not the full 88. any ideas what may be wrong?
Not off the top of my head, a couple things that come to mind are does the event have tempo information? ie: proper time signature to match the session and tempo. Also, I guess the more important question is does it work when you drag it down to create a midi event? (Regardless of how many bars it's detected)
Hi, the event does have a tempo embedded into it. What happens is that it only creates MIDI notes up to bar 38 but it creates one event which is the same length as the original audio but it's blank from bar 38 onwards
And one more tip: Using "sensitive mode" in the audio bend detection menu is a great way to capture snare flams that are too quiet for normal mode
Great video! FYI, you can also enter the destination pitch in the Pitch field after selecting Command + A, as an alternative to dragging all the notes
thanks for sharing ur knowledge , helped a lot. hope u come up with more videos like this to help people like us. keep rollin' u are a good teacher
Perfect. Just what I was working with earlier today. You do it better. Thank you.
You my friend are a f-/::ing legend. Thanks so much. Subbed🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I just saved a ton of time by switching to your proverbial geico. thanks salamander. (p.s. your video really is helpful, dude. Thanks for sharing)
awesome video, thank you! No need to buy Slate trigger now :)
Thanks for this...you just saved a session.
I wish I knew this earlier!
Awesome video. Thanks!

I tried this technique with piano, but all notes are the same.
Is there a way to apply the technique to melodies, or does it only work with drums ?
YES! Watch this video.... czcams.com/video/bvLYYjjvkOo/video.html

i have the professionel at it make the same thing by me
In what situation would you use this technique?
My groove clipboard doesn’t show me the midi. It only shows me 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and etc.....any ideas?
Hey Marcus... Can i do exactly the same thing but with sample one?
Hello Marcus! I've got question for you. I can't choke my roland v-drums cymbals in Studio One. Any solution? Cheers mate!
for some reason Presonus didn't include the ability to have Aftertouch in Studio One
Let me run that by our resident midi gurus. :)
Hi Marcus. Any progress?..
So I am on studio one 4 prime. Can you make a new video for that?
Unfortunately doesn't work if you have a loop with more sounds on it... everything become a beat with one sound...
And is there a way for it to do pitch?

so did you ever figure out a work around for this issue? I am having the same problem.
I just ran into this issue. Im trying to drag the entire detected transient into the groove and its only importing 99 bars.
I'd rather use the delay compensation on the track to make up the difference and not move anything
Hello, can U please help me to set up this VSTi in Studio One on windows?
Yeah, right. Take the art out of musc by making it technically perfect! WTF?
