Kylo Ren is one of the knights of Ren. knights in medieval times used to have crossguarded swords so the lightsaber makes total sense nad second thing... Kylo Ren and his lightsaber were made ages ago in a SW comic book when Disney had nothing to with SW... So I feel sorry for you but you're no real fan of SW so why you care about it ?

We used Adobe After Effects for the lightsaber and Cinema 4D for the ships flying around.
