ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.
#Coldplay #MovingToMars #EveryTeardropIsAWaterfall - Hudba
What "old" Coldplay? Coldplay made many albums, there's "Parachutes", "A rush of blood to the head", "X&Y". They are all different. There's nothing "quintessentially Coldplay". They experiment on music on many levels. One cannot expect that their music would stay the same after 3 albums...
Nope, they've made Mylo Xyloto (and Ghost Stories) with help from Brian Eno, and I have noticed a change in the particular intervals Coldplay used to use, which made them so good in the first place. But this song and Major Minus are without the (melodic) influence of Brian Eno, and that's why these aren't so bad, or even very good.
Esker van de Werken Viva La Vida was made with the help of Eno too!
Yeah, you're right, I've searched for it after I made the comment hahaha. Maybe he didn't have as much influence on Viva la Vida than he did on Mylo Xyloto/Ghost Stories because the songs were made before he was going to produce the albums. After Viva La Vida Brian Eno said to Chris Martin: "Viva La Vida is a good album. But the next one has to be better" (Something like that, I heard it in an interview once) and I think that could've been the downfall. Because Coldplay hasn't stopped making big hits (not that it's important, but it is significant), they're just not that good anymore.
Esker van de Werken Brian Eno didn't work on Ghost Stories..
huh? your comment isn't a reply idiot. you're just pretending you're replying to people saying something that people might believe a hipster would say.
are little thumbs ups on youtube really that important to you, idiot?
it´s just me or coldplay need to do a album with all their b-sides?
+daniel casasola (Gerardo) Their b-sides have been the only good stuff they've done for 5 years.
So yes.
defenitly.
100 times better than this new stuff. Proof
+daniel casasola (Gerardo) Thats got to be the best idea ever :)
+daniel casasola (Gerardo) much better than what they're releasing nowadays :/
The fact that this song didn't make it on any album is beyond me. Masterpiece!! Wish theyd go back to sounding like this, but anything Chris Martin touches is gold.
+Knickerboxer It's funny, it's like they intentionally don't put their best songs on their album but instead release them as a b-side :)
+Sóley Linda Egilsdóttir Yeah, I think they made their best songs to the real coldplayers, releasing them on b-sides.
Moving to Mars and Coloratura...An esperience of life!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
They sound pretty similar at some point, which is interesting.
This is coldplay.
+venomvsspidey11 Damn straight
+venomvsspidey11 I thought it was Maroon 5 for a moment, glad we got that cleared up lol.
+Motivation Madness stupid
Smaîl Qebluştik ty
wtf maroon5
Besides, guys, see it this way. I agree their b-sides and other unreleased songs are really good, sometimes even better, but let's just feel special and think they didn't bring them out because only people who are willing to search for such beautiful pieces get to hear it :P
yeah and this way, their great songs don't get overplayed to the point where you get sick of them
Somewhere up above the stars
The wreckage of a universe floats past
Somewhere up above my heart
A tiny little seed is sown, a government is overthrown,
Who knows when we'll be coming home at last
And I heard it on the radio that one day we'll be living in the stars
And I heard it on a TV show that somewhere up above and in my heart
They'll be tearing us apart, maybe moving us to Mars
We won't see the earth again
And the seconds just remain unchanged
8 to 9, 9 to 10
We are meeting for the first time
We might never meet again, you and me
We are meeting for the first time can't you see
7 6 5 4 3
We are meeting for the first time
Singing this space symphony
They'll be tearing us apart, maybe moving us to Mars,
Past the satellites and stars, they're moving us to Mars
Thanks
Juna Natakusumah 8o
Ghost stories is an interlude album, if you know Coldplay you know that, it's not an involved record, there are 4 mentally engaging songs on the album, it is a manically depressing album in the best way, Chris Martin knows that Coldplay's music is bigger than Him and or the band, in retrospect it will be appreciated, there are those of us who appreciate it now. Don't think about how you feel about the music. Don't try to understand it, just let it move you, if the music does not move you it is not the musics fault. Likewise it does not mean it's your fault either, music is something that we try to quantify. This can be done, but ultimately it takes the soul away from the sounds that spill forth, leading us to catagorize and strip the integrity of the piece.
Agree
Wowww well well well said
That's was poetry mate
Karlo Smith I agree Totally. at first I tried to figure it out, and then, i thought, Nah, just listen and enjoy. He himself (Chris) said its a spiritual album!
Joel Hahn Coldplay has even started working on their 7th album!
confirmed by NASA
+Miguel Martinez haha
hell yeah
that would happen on 2150
This song makes me feel like I'm floating. It's one of those songs that makes me want to make a playlist with songs that have a similar feeling
***** HOLY SHIT i forgot i made this comment wtf. why haven't i completed this task
+Neha you need to set your priorities straight!
"For You" by Coldplay makes me feel like I'm floating in space
Neha Space oddity bowie.rocket man elton.calling occupants the carpenters.nuff said
Coloratura
How "Princess of China" beat this into the album is beyond me.
the most underrated/overlooked song of coldplay
I still can't believe how this song wasn't able to make it to be on the MX album....
Shoulda replaced Princess of China or one of the transition songs like A Hopeful Transmission
Or just put it in without replacing any songs. Hip hop albums can go up to 30 songs, I don't know why other genres rarely make it up to 15
It's easy to keep the transition songs, just make them part of the song before, like Charlie Brown's piano solo. I don't mean remove them completely, just don't make it a separate song. (Another example would be Don't let it Break your heart's transition into Up with the birds)
That works too I guess, but I wished they used the acoustic version of princess of china because that song is awesome
nkatica cm jh
I'm crying right now. This is one of my favourite Coldplay's songs. It so beautiful and sad. . .I love it.
I literally cried during this song
Thank you Coldplay
Thanks obama*
Devil's 9 Questions I don't get it
Wonsaj
i dont get it neither lmao
To one of my heroes David Bowie...
Coldplay needs more instrumental not digitally
I want a jonny's solo
Coldplay at the peak of their game, IMHO..
IMO this song definitely deserves to be in the next album along with Atlas
I miss old Coldplay sound and style.
We all do!
But they always make us smile
GrayFox101 I love them so much, i feel like i lived life with them.
This is Coldplay's gem of a song. I'm glad it hasn't been spoiled yet and it deserves attention, but it deserves our hearts even more.
How have I just now heard this song?????
+LeahKarma99 Asking myself that in 2016...
+Motivation Madness I am too...
+mah bp Count me in too
I can hear some David Bowie influences here
Agree with you there
TheAstroventurer Life on Mars
Spiritual_Music73 “Space Oddity” above else, which is a story about space exploration complete with a countdown. Probably the most famous-perhaps the first-instance of this narrative in music.
I haven't heard David Bowie enough, but oddly I agree.
Mylo Xyloto could've surely made some room for this...
Totally agree. This song qualifies for an album. Man its such a great song...
They should've replaced up in flames with this
This has "Space Oddity" influence written all over it
This one of the few works just as well at 1.25x speed.
Brings Ray Bradbury to mind
So that's his real baritone.
Just love this song. It actually seems very Coldplay-ish to me, despite people saying it's not like their older music. It's just like them to write about something very profound and enigmatic and embody it beautifully
This would of been great in The Martian
Yeah! It would be perfect!
Yeah and Prospects March/Poppy fields would be perfect for interstellar
Possibly the best Coldplay song!!
My favorite Coldplay B-sides:
5. Animals
4. Crests of Waves
3. Gravity
2. Moving to Mars
1. Ghost Story
Watching Interstellar reminded me of this song! "somewhere up above new hope", "one day we'll be living in the stars" ;-)
I'm thinking exactly the same thing. Every bit of lyrics remind me of Interstellar especially "we won't see the earth again."
+Dominik from Germany (dominikfromgermany) damn same exact as me. That movie is officialy my number one
me too :)
What i think is the most underrated coldplay songs:
-Moving to mars
-Rainy day
-Up with the birds
-All your friends
This song should be played at the credits of The Martian
definately
OMG yes
camerupt3 man you are genius
YES YES OH YES
Coldplay, amazing as usual....
Theres a starman waiting in the sky?
And here we see the average theist at the peak of their intelligence
Does this God have a heaven and hell?
This just in - David Bowie lyric sparks religious debate. And now the weather...
They should have just added this to the album. :/ This song is just so perfect.
the old Coldplay the old Coldplay...the new Coldplay the new Coldplay....come on guys, Coldplay will always be Coldplay...whatever or however they play their songs.
Somewhere up above and in my heart...
ColdPlay is the band that gets me but slightly doesn't. As in like songs are intended for something else, but it explains me and my life. Accidentally.
If this song didn't make the album....I can't imagine all the other masterpieces that didn't make it.
this song should have been on the album! It would have been nice to hear more piano and this would have been perfect :)
Wow can't believe my favourite Coldplay song is not even on an album...
Amazing. amazing. amazing. This song makes me feel like I'm weightless, floating through the sky. forget that, like my SOUL is floating! This is why I love coldplay!
I think Coldplay should try to make an album based on planets.... it'll be interesting to see what they'll come up with.... :)
I really am happy that this song didn't get in the grasp of most radio stations because all of them seem to overplay songs... So this one is special to the true Coldplay fans!
Great thing about this track is that they do not use much repetition. And i mean, that chord choice at the lyrics "they will be moving us to mars" is absolutely amazing.
I love that Picardy third in that chord. It sounds so cool in that context.
This song is beyond amazing, there is no word in the universe that can describe the utter beauty of this masterpiece song by Coldplay! Best band ever!!
There is no old Coldplay or new Coldplay, Coldplay is Coldplay and will always be. they still make great music and thats probably what they're going to continue doing. the only thing thats changed is the way this generation or rather we as people view music. so shut up and enjoy the music
Much better than any track on MX this wud've fit perfectly as a final song on the album
MX is an EP of THIS song!
My exact thoughts XDDDD
exactly
what does that mean
I thought its weed made me high. But I remember I dont smoke!
We might never meet again, you and me...
That's what people should take as an example of what music really is...
Greatest shoutout to Bowie of all time. RIP.
0:00 - 0:45 makes me just want to close my eyes and let chris sing me to sleep ❤️
Oh, man!
Wonder if we'll ever know he's in the best selling show.
Without chris his voice, coldplay wouldn't be coldplay. He creates such great music, his singing was never an Frank Sinatra voice, but it's recognizable, that's why he can sell this great song for 40milion! Love coldplay, don't hate it
one of the most underrated songs of all times IMO.
not only it should have been included on Mylo Xyloto, but also be the first single out of the album... sadly, none.
Aidan Helman hh
My favorite song by Coldplay
one of the greatest coldplay songs i have heard... in fact, amongst the greatest songs i have EVER heard. and yet it didn't make the album. i want to cry
Reminds me a bit of David Bowie :) RIP...
+JB Bosma wait , he died ?
+Saitama “One Punch Man” yes, saitama senpai
JB Bosma thats really sad
Saitama yes, saitama san...it is :(
+JB Bosma Boots of swiftness!
Every song of Coldplay is a symphony
the only song in the world, who made me cry. the melody, and the voice of Chris are juste fabulous ! they should sing it at Nice, 2 weeks ago !
i really hope i will meet them before i die, juste to say them "thank you" for all the things they gave, and they give me in my life.
Coldplay ♥♥
Holy shit, this song is sooo good.
God I find this song so beautiful. It's possibly my favorite of MX. Sadly not on the album, and as a huge fan I only discovered this song a few days ago! o_o It gives me this feeling that only Coldplay can give me :)
oh yeah i have the same feeling about this song thank u coldplay 😍
coldplay has always a new song for me that i've never heard before and then i fall in love.
the same for me freddy did you listen to the song of coldplay : amazing day - and - everglow ?? i love that songs so much
+Kader Allali i've listened all coldplay songs including their b-sides, thats why i love this band so much
i have listened to all coldplay songs too i have some 9 Go of coldplay on my pc lol what is your favorite song of coldplay ?
best song for my move this month. Would maybe easier moving to mars. Thank you Coldplay
I think that this is one of their best songs ever.
One of the few good songs from the whole Mylo Xyloto thing, and it was relegated to b-side status, just like “Major Minus” (which was, imo, THE single from that album and one of Coldplay's tightest songs).
This was the first attempt at a cosmic ballad as it is coloratura. Yey or nah?
Not exactly, but yeah.
Coloratuta is a gift, a tribute for the OG fans, those who listened to every song from them. That solo isn't the only reference to the older albums. Listening carefully, you'll notice traits from 'How you see the world' and 'X&Y', for example.
The longer you listen to this song the better the journey :)
Coldplay, how could you not release this? It is simply amazing! Better than UFO and much better than Up in Flames and Princess of China.
The first time I listened to this song, I was eating a gourmet burger in a 2-century old building on the river in a small town on a gorgeous summer day, surrounded by my family. For some reason, this song always reminds me of that.
Just sitting in my spaceship, by the asteroids in a planets ring on Elite Dangerous. "we wont see the earth again, and the seconds just remain, unchanged" woah is that a tear drop? Engage.
♡ ♫ We are meeting for the first time... ♫ ♡
Coldplay can do no wrong. "Bad song" isn't in their musical vocabulary.
4 million views is what makes this song the only for those who actually do know coldplay's discography... oh my god.... an eargasm....
I fall asleep listening to this last night :D
I think U.F.O and Hurts like Heaven are the best songs on the whole album
Not that I don't like the other songs, love them to but U.F.O and Hurts like Heaven give me such a special feeling and automatically put a big smile on my face.
And they are more special for me now because they showed me this beautiful masterpiece!!!
Moving to Mars should not be replaced by any song
Because it doesn't belong to any album and stands on his own it makes it all the more special to me
First time when I heard it was incredible
But when you get to 1:46......
That feeling is just indescribable!!!!
LOVE YOU COLDPLAY!!!
(A.k.a. Best band in the known galaxy)
This song pulled me back into depression and away from reality again. And I feel comforted. I'm back in the state of mind where I feel safe. Where nothing matters. The world collapses in on itself.
Reminds me of a time when I was less patient.... less kind and less hesitant....
a happier time for me, bloodied for others
Matt Damon approves.
Noice
Indeed
yus
Wilbert Cubero
remembers me of gravity
Some of the chords are the same in fact the left hand plays a revers version of 42 of of viva whilst playing piano
Part 2 of 2: I do agree that the song is metaphorical and for anyone who doesn’t understand the metaphor, it is because you have not designated or found your own meaning for it. You have not interpreted the song any further than the sound coming out of your speakers. If you do, you will open up a pretty amazing insight into the world of music as a form of art and expression.
This song was just too good for the album!!!
I love this song much! I can't wait for their next album. :)
me too
did you liked the new album ? :)
Jkcoolman1223 yes :) and you?
Marcelaa M yes ! :) a very nice album :) a mix of all albums :) just Midnight sounded pure new :)
Jkcoolman1223 Midnight is perfect! :) What's your favourite song of Ghost stories? mine is True Love and O.
Masterpiece ... I'm flying across the universe ...
the best song recorded by Coldplay in the last year
BEST COLDPLAY
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THE SONG IS NOT WELL KNOWN??
It is a b side
Cyrus Metcalfe in other words we just need embrace to cover it
+HerrVorragend Because Coldplay did not release it.
wlkrstph then why was this released on an EP by coldplay?
wlkrstph
search for the Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall EP
i wish this song was on spotify XD
It is now
I wish they would make more like this. It might not make teenage girls scream, but it is something rare.
This should of been in their album, would of topped the charts easily
If this song replaced Up in Flames, Mylo Xyloto would be my 2nd favorite album. Curse whoever made the decision to leave it off
this song is fantastic, but I love every song on the album, it has a certain fluidity that makes the album great. with that said, i would replace major minus for this song
I agree. Up in Flames is terrible.
Everyone has their oppinion. Eitherway I hope that they will include it on their Next album. This song deserves SO much more.
this song should have replaced princess of china which is crap!
U.F.O is the song that should been replaced.
Life on Mars's little brother -.-
This song. This song! This song is SO GOOD! Ahhhhh i can't handle it.
Absolutely Beautiful!
This will definitely be on my playlist when I get into orbit.
+Tate Harriman so you are an astronaut ?
