While conducting a NOAA mission, scientists onboard photograph local seal populations, specifically looking for Gray Seal pups in an effort to estimate population health and size. A better understanding of the Gray Seals and their population can help the conservation effort of this species. Gray Seals in the area may also have an affect on the marine food chain and fisheries.
