    I just want to say thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been trying to stall for over a month now but can only bring myself to get one skate onto the coping and have been really struggling to get the other skate and there just isn't enough information out there that helps fix that (since most of my fellow skaters say 'it just comes naturally to them' which I wish would be the same for me but alas!) I think you nailed it about staggering my feet too wide and not letting my back leg come to meet parallel to my front just as you hit the coping. I'm going to try this later but just wanted to leave this comment to say I appreciate you bringing up the lil' challenges facing this! Thank you again!!

    Unlocked frontside stalls yesterday thanks to this video! I was at the park and getting frustrated with how stuck on them I was so I searched on CZcams, watched this, then tried again and nailed it on the first try. It just finally clicked! Thank you for creating such a clear and helpful tutorial!! 💖

    I've spent several hours yesterday practicing this and just could not gain enough control when touching the coping to be able to stay there and go back down when I want to.
    I think the hip thrust thing is whats gonna do the trick for me, super excited to try this later!
    Love your tutorials ♥️

    Hey! I had to mute the song at the end of this video :/ I may re-upload this tutorial with a new track added to the end, but hopefully it doesn't ruin the experience of watching the end of the video. Hope you all still enjoy the tutorial!

    Great tutorial! I’m curious to know what wheels you’re using. Are those your normal park wheels?

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety +3

      Thank you! Yes, I usually skate a hybrid wheel that's indoor/outdoor: they're not huge wheels, have rounded edges, are only 75 hardness (not too soft or hard) and fairly grippy. I mostly skate skatelite, masonite, metal surfaces where I love when I park skate, and they're good for outdoor skating too so I don't switch them out often unless I drive 1.5+ hours away to a concrete bowl. Hope this helps! They're Radar Energy wheels & my favorite wheels, you can order some off Amazon, here they are: Radar Energy 78A 35mm x 65mm Wheels in Black (4 Pack) amzn.to/3857mtY (*affiliate link but it doesn't cost you extra and helps me out since I make a tiny commission of sales purchased through my links, it's like only 1% but every bit helps!). I also recommend the CIB reckless park wheels that are 98a for a harder but similar wheel to these. There are simliar wheels by other brands to those that may be cheaper if you can find and compare the specs. Hope this helps!

    Where did you get those sliders?

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! Just saw your comment. They're Sure-Grip Grind blocks. I got them from my local skate shop but they sell them on Amazon: (*affiliate link but if you buy through it it doesn't cost you extra and helps me out! it's like a tiny 1% commission). Here's a video review on them I did! amzn.to/2S4AoV9 (Talking about the pros, cons, cost, what I recommend them for, plate compatibility, etc!) czcams.com/video/K5wd7ZepKOE/video.html

    should I roll back out with my leading foot going down first or vise versa?

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety

      I roll back down the same stance I rolled up! Entering the transition, I have my lead foot forward and back foot following behind, then after the stall, rolling down fakie my back foot comes off the coping first, followed by my lead foot. Anytime you roll fakie, your back foot becomes your lead. Hope that helps!

    do you need blocks on your skates to be able to stall like this? thank you for your video :-)

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety

      you're welcome! Great question, I actually did a video testing that (you can watch it here if you're curious and want to see/hear my experience czcams.com/video/S4Mz_MIT4ac/video.html&t)
      Short answer is: you don't need any blocks to stall! I show this in the video :) You got this!

  • @tee9357
    @tee9357 Před 2 lety +1

    is the first foot on the coping your leading foot? i find myself trying to get my back foot on the coping first for some reason. i know im staggering my feet too much but i dont really get why im not using my leading foot first

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 2 lety

      My first foot is my leading foot here reaching the coping first, but you can also kinda hop up and onto the coping with both feet landing if you have enough speed/momentum! Hope this helps!

    What’s the name of the song in the end? 🤙🏽

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety +1

      It was "Chamomiles
      by SVYAT ILIN" I loved it! I received a partial copyright claim (although there was none when I checked it before & after I first posted this video) so I had to mute the track at the end. I don't ever want to use an artist's work that even has partial copyright claims, so I removed it from this video. But feel free to enjoy the song and support the artist!

    I like this tutorial but could you slow down your example clips or let it play it more than once? I’m a visual learner and I like to pause and watch it very slowly to understand it better.

    • @simon_slays55
      @simon_slays55  Před 3 lety

      I did include some slow mo clips in this tutorial! If those are not slow enough for your needs, thankfully you can change the playback speed on any CZcams video! Here's an article that walks you through how to watch a CZcams video at slower speeds: www.businessinsider.com/how-to-slow-down-youtube-videos
