Thank goodness for the perfect timing of the new CEO who has experience with building/expansion of a new soccer stadium. Apart from the horrors the club experienced with previous owners who did not care… but managed to do business dealings to line their pockets but created the problems today that Rob & Ryan are dealing with now for the expansion.

The bigger the better! I’m an American Wrexham fan that would love to see a match in person at some point.
What gets me about the change to the kop design is that it reaks of poor original design brief. The stand was not designed to be expandable nor able to connect with stands at each side.
A possible point about the new design for the kop stand being higher than that previously planned is that this might allow for construction to be done in the same manner as on Liverpool's Anfield Rd Stand. There they built behind & above the existing seats, which remained in use, then opened the new, upper stand and built the new lower section. This would cost more, but would also mean no drop in capacity & revenue during the construction process.
The last I heard was they wanted the stand to be around 8000 the plan is also to fill in all the corners and push the capacity around 30000. I was informed by someone who spoke to the club brass that they are looking for future numbers and 5000 wasn't enough for the future..... The new plan fills in the corners and looks to add a 2nd tier in sections ...

Cant see Wrexham losing a big seasons revenue from temporary stand! My guess they get everything together) Design/funding/land deal in place to start building new Kop stand next Summer soon as League 1 season ends now! Its what Id do! 🤔
As a Canadian I was blessed to get a Red kit last year. I would really want the Gold like you but would go with black as well. I cannot wait to see the design next week I hope.
Wrexham choosing Nike would be a disaster.... they have someone else making them now, every looks and feel cheap now.... HUGE difference in quality n I dont know why they dont switch back.

the national team will not play competition games outside Cardiff, only friendlies, its not possible unless you have 30000 capacity as you can;t sell 25000 campaign tickets then play games at a stadium with thousands less capacity that cannot hold the fans
It is nice that the stadium will be expanded further..... but this would not have been necessary if British bureaucracy wasn't so crazy.
Yea, they had to take a pause and assess the current requirements. Americans LOVE foosball. It is played by every kid as soon as they can walk. Professional leagues have struggled mainly due to main media coverage. We’ve been watching games for years on various gaming platforms local fans live stream from their own televisions so we can watch the games. It never shows up in the official viewers. But that also means the money is “left on the table”. All clubs needs to maximize their earning potential in order to survive. Clubs need the right size stadium. Bigger isnt always better.
At the beginning, there was a need for a financial investment to update and upgrade the existing facility. More than just regular maintenance. A substantial amount of money was needed to be put into the existing facility just to maintain the current capacity. The new ownership brought a cash infusion, but the investment model was for the club to generate and benefit from revenue generated by the television series that documents the community’s support and the team’ s success. It is a model that the Dallas Cowboy’s cheerleaders have used for almost two decades.
There is a sweet spot in the size makes the most revenue. Student housing is important, too. There is an optimum configuration of any facility where ONE MORE seat would require an exponential cost increase. Security, safety, bathroom facilities, parking, crowd control, power, lighting, concessions, ground keeping maintenance facilities all would have to be expanded to service additional seating. The original designer may not have been able to handle major modifications that were deemed necessary and desireable based on the clubs growth profile. Once substantially more funds were available, it makes good business sense to take a pause and evaluate if the previous plan was still appropriate. I’m sure everyone at least went through the exercise of questioning if the the facility should be moved, if additional land should be acquired, if a modernization and expansion of the current facility could be accomplished while preserving the historical aspects of the KOP.
I’m not sure of the requirements, but I believe that there are facility size requirements for the upper tier leagues. I’m sure a lot of questions were addressed and the renovation plan reassessed prior to settling on the final solution. Perhaps it is being designed for future expansion where certain items such as utility, access and design are modified, but if a growth projection is followed, student housing would be relocated to free up land required for a phase two.

It’s going to be hard to further expand the ground after this because of the flats, car park, main road and houses surrounding so might as well make it as big as possible
Still think the ground needs turning around 90degrees, with the Cold Rd end behind the goal. Student block knocked down, and the kop becomes the east stand the Tech end the west stand and the Centenary will end up under the half way line.

I wouldn’t be surprised if inflation didn’t play a part in the pull out. I’ve seen some mid-scale contractors pull out of work because the contract wasn’t structured well enough to cover their original profit margins expected

My guess is the University has a Leasehold lease on the flats, while the old owners own the Freehold.

I think the "loss" on the temporary stand has to be looked at in context. It's very difficult to track the additional spend of these fans beyond just the game day ticket purchase. Food, beverage, merchandise sales, etc. It wouldnt surprise me if they weren't at the end of the day making a small profit.
It also had to an additional benefit for the town. Thousands more fans in town on match days. ££££.
Be nice if tried aiming for 10,000 seats at least then our stadium would have a capacity of 20,000 which even then we would sell out lol. If we selling out at 20,000 then you expand another stand and so on would look pretty cool if they eventually did all corners of stadium as well that would look cool
Rob and Ryan should match or at least come up with 50% of allocated funds . Also they should put up two tiers and extend into the other stands to blend the stadium together . Also if possible they should upgrade other amenities to promote the fan experience

How long do you think it would take to build the new Kop start to finish? If they start at the end of the season would it be done by the end of the next season? So really only one season disruption

In terms of Sizing Macron is pretty good through they Favor the tight fit only Adidas and Hummel are better in Sizing, Nike along with Puma are horrible when it comes to Sizing
