Attempting To Use The MeasureQuick App!

  • First time giving measure quick a chance. All in all I believe it's a great tool, a lot of the guys I watch on CZcams use it. Wanted to give it a shot and see if it's worth showing my boss if it'd be something he'd be interested in.
    After this little test run, I can definitely say he won't 🤣 but I like the vast amount of information it can give. The info here might not be the type of things property management's care about but if you're servicing a homeowner and want to know if the unit is truly working well and how it should.
    What app/equipment do you guys use?!

    I love my wirless fieldpiece probes with measurequick.

    You can change the probes to be anything you want using the toolbox. It's calculating the air flow using the temperatures. you're viewing real time, so the readings will fluctuate. The app can do a lot, the more information you give it, the better it is.

      I like that. It did seem real informative. Things I hadn't seen or heard about since trade school

      You can just use classic view and work with it similar to what you are use to with fieldpiece app except you can still get a ton more out of it with a larger selection of probes hooked up.

    I'm glad I retired after 35 years in our trade. I'm all for technology. Coming up through the ranks I don't think many will remember the Snap 8 meter.the Simpson 260 meter and no blow back hose's. Back then it was basically touch, feel and smell first. I glad to see the field evolving and hopefully the young guys will make the old guard proud .... your well on your way young man.

    If you get a 3rd psychrometer you can set it to be your outdoor probe that way you’ll get real time data for the pressure. And the app needs outdoor temp to calculate you superheat.
    The psychrometer picks up cfms too

      Now see that's freaking awesome. I find it weird they do that for the measurequick app but not the fieldpiece app

      @@AB_HVAC yeah the fieldpiece app it’s trash. I’ve been using measure quick more than 4 years. I love fieldpiece probes I have two sets of them bc I do commercial mainly and it’s nice to be able to check two compressors at the same time.
      I also have a set of the testo wireless probes which I rarely use. Their connectivity sucks, the range sucks and their app is trash as well. Good luck with measure quick bro.

    To get SEER and EER numbers, you need to give it amp draw data. I don't think it's based on running it for longer.

    • @EverythingHVACR
      @EverythingHVACR Před 2 měsíci +2

      @AB_HVAC No, the app is great either way. The paid version gives you more information to share with customers, spreadsheets, and such. Honestly, I don't pay for it, so I don't really know its full capability. Don't need all the extra stuff in commercial. In my world, you use it to get pressure/temperature/ superheat/subcooling. You use those measurements to interpret what exactly is happening inside the refrigerant circuit. You had a 45-degree evaporator, so rule of thumb is your evap will be 35 degrees below your return air temp, so 78 to 80 degree. Condensing temp rule of thumb, depending on seer ratings, old stuff 10-13 seer, 30 degrees over ambient, so your outdoor temp 80 degrees, high side saturation temperature 110.

      I actually wouldn't mind using it if given the time to get all the info necessary. I think between getting all the filter sizes, inputting all the info, took about 20min right there. So if I have to get amp draws and stuff like that, on top of already letting the unit run for about 10min to get pressure readings I'm probably 45min total in before I've even begun to try and diagnose the issue
